Tranquil Tulips with Brick Wall Embossing Folder

I think I have already told you how much I am going to miss this stamp set when it retires at the end of the month, but I am also going to miss the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  This is one folder that I won't be getting rid of, it will go in my keep pile.

I love cards that have dimension to them and this card is one of them.  The Tranquil Tulip stamp set is a two step stamp set, which means you create the images in two steps.  The first step is to stamp the solid image, the bottom layer, in a lighter color or stamp off your ink first.  When I say stamp off your ink I mean to first stamp your image on a scrap piece of paper and then stamp it onto your project.  This will give you a lighter hue of the color you are using.  Then you stamp your second step right on top of the first image in the same color or a darker color.  On this card I used the same color, Lovely Lipstick.  Lovely Lipstick is one of the 2018-2020 In Colors which will be available June 1st.

Since I wanted to pop the top layer I did not stamp mine on top of each other, I stamped them next to each other on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I then fussy cut, cut them out with scissors, and attached the two layers together with a Stampin' Dimensional.

For the Love sentiment I cut 2 of them using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  I cut one out of  Powder Pink and one out of  Lovely Lipstick cardstock.  I then adhered them together using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and offset them just a little.  The finished circle is also popped up using Stampin Dimensionals.

To make this project you will need the following products:

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Embossing Paste meets Embossing Powder

  • Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight stamp set #143669, Lovely Wishes stamp set #145924, Embossing Paste #141979, Emboss Powder #141636, Daisy Punch #143713, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Oh My Goodness!!!  I can't even begin to tell you how much fun this technique was to make and how beautiful it is.  I would have never thought of this idea.  Thank God, someone did and was kind enough to share with everyone.  I don't remember who I first saw this technique done with, so who ever you are, thank you, thank you, thank you.

I don't know if you can see on the picture or not, but I put Copper Embossing Powder over the Embossing Paste and heat set it.  It is so fun to make and it is so impressive when it is done.  We made these in my technique class and the ladies were crazy about them.

To make this project you are going to need the following products:

Cardstock:

Night of Navy

  •  cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 5 1/2"

Whisper White

  • cut two at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Wild Wasabi

  • cut at 2" x 3 1/2"

Copper Foil Sheet

  • scrap for 1/2" circle

To make this card you have to work kinda fast.  You don't want to let the paste dry before you put the embossing powder on it.  The first thing I did was put on the Embossing Paste using the brick masks from the Patter Party Decorative Masks.  As soon as I had that finished added the copper embossing powder to all of the embossing paste.

I had to put sprinkle the embossing powder over it a couple of times to make sure it adhered the way I wanted it to.  You then use your heat gun to warm up the embossing powder so it melts.  You will have to hold the heat gun a little bit longer than you do when you use the embossing powder with the VersaMark ink.  It is so fun to watch the embossing powder melt into the paste.   Such a neat effect!

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight stamp set #143669, Lovely Wishes stamp set #145924, Embossing Paste #141979, Emboss Powder #141636, Daisy Punch #143713, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

You will notice on the picture that I did not put the Embossing Paste all over my card, just part of it.  You can do whatever you would like to do with yours.

I stamped my sentiment from Lovely Wishes and the flower is from the Delightful Daisy stamp set using the Night of Navy ink.  I punched out the daisy with the coordinating punch.  I used the Leaf punch that was carried over from the holiday catalog.  I sure hope they keep both of those in the new annual catalog which is coming out in June.

For a final touch I added a 1/2" circle from the Copper Foil Sheets and put it in the middle of the daisy.  I also stamped the daisy on the inside of my card and on the envelope.

Better Together Wedding Card

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Better Together Stamp Set #141736, Garden Trellis Embossing Folder #143741, Layering Oval Framelits #141706, designed and created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

At my Christmas Card class the other day, we were talking about what types of cards they wanted to make for my stamp camp class. Diana had mentioned that she needed a wedding card, so could we do one.  I said, "Sure, we haven't done a wedding card in a long time". I actually don't remember the last time I made a wedding card for a class.  I wanted a card that was simple, but elegant at the same time.

The Garden Trellis Embossing Folder adds texture and elegance to it. I used the sentiments from the Better Together stamp set, with the inside sentiment saying All The Best for a future filled with love!  The little touch of gold with the 1/8" gold ribbon really brings it up a notch too.

There were some ladies that wanted an anniversary card instead, so we dug out my old retired sets and found some great stamps that would work for the size of oval we had.  The current stamp sets did not have a big enough happy anniversary stamp in them.  This is why I don't get rid of too many of my retired stamps.  We still use them from time to time.  Plus, I just love them and don't want to get rid of them.  I am usually not a keeper, but when it comes to my craft supplies, I sure am.  How about you?

To make this card you will need the following products:

Thick Whisper White Cardstock #140272

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Fresh Fig Cardstock #144242

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"
  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

I used stampin dimensionals on the ovals to pop up the sentiment. This card would be very easy to change the color of the cardstock to coordinate with the wedding colors.

We had a busy and fun weekend at our house.  We are in the process of updating our home, now that we are empty nesters.  We have to do something with our time, so why not work on the house.  On Saturday, we (I should say Mr. Wonderful) started working on painting the hall upstairs and trim work for the stairways.  Once the painting is done upstairs and the plumbing fixtures changed in the main bathroom, all we have to do is the carpet and then the upstairs is done!  Yay!

Our new countertops are getting measured this week and should be in at the end of September.  We are still discussing what color to paint the kitchen, which has been interesting.  The new knobs are on the kitchen cabinets and I really like them.  Who would have thought that just changing the knobs it can change the whole look of your cabinets.  We are not going to be doing anything with the floors at this time because I am still doing daycare.  I don't want to put in new carpet and having one of the babies either, pee, poop or puke on it. LOL  With my luck, that is exactly what would happen.

A lot of people have been asking me when I am going to retire from daycare.  I really don't know.  I have been setting dates that I want to retire, and then God has a different plan.  So, for now it is whenever God tells me it is time to retire.  I can't believe in November it will be 29 years of having a daycare in my home.  It still amazes me, especially since I was never getting married or have children.  Boy, was God laughing at that one.

On Sunday, I went to Sip and Dipity Paint Bar with a customer, now a new friend, Diana.  We had such a good time.  One side is pumpkins and the other side is a snowman.  Isn't that so cute?!  I love it!  Although, I love anything with snowman on it.

So In Love Anniversary Card

stampin up, Stampin Up! So In Love #143216, Falling In Love Designer Series Paper #142788, Flourish Thinlits #141478, Lace Dollies #142793, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com

One of my customers wanted a Happy Anniversary card at stamp camp last month.  I knew I wanted to use the So In Love stamp set, because I love the font in this set.  The designer series paper, Falling in Love would go wonderful with that stamp set.  I had purchased the doilies, but hadn't even opened the package, so I added them to the card too.  It still needed something, but what?

I then thought of flowers, but which ones.  I tried a bunch of the framelits that I had, but finally decided on the Flourish Thinlits.  I cut the larger flower out of Tip Top Taupe and the small one out of Very Vanilla.

To make this card, you will need the following products:

Tip Top Taupe Cardstock #138336

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 2" x 2"
  • cut at 3/4" x 3 1/2"

On the inside of the card I stamped the flower from the stamp set on the bottom left hand corner and on the envelope.  I also put the sentiment "a day to celebrate" on the inside.

This is going to be a short post today, as I am busy working on projects for my three classes this week.  I am having my Stamp Camps on Thursday and Friday.  We will be making cards that feature some of the Sale-A-Bration products and the 2015-2017 In Colors.  I have a workshop for my dear, Theresa, on Saturday.

The best part of this upcoming weekend is that Emily will be home on Friday night.  I can't wait to see her!  It has been since Christmas and I sure do miss my girl.  Thank goodness though for texting and FaceTime.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.

Happy Anniversary

                                             IMG_6072

I am in a group on Facebook consisting of other Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  I am in love with this group!  Everyone encourages each other, shares ideas, gives advice and truly care about each other.  You know what I love the most?  I am becoming friends with people from all over the world.  How cool is that?  One of the demonstrators had shared this card (I am sorry I don't remember who it was) and I loved how she was able to show most of the new incolors and Banners For You stamp set and matching framelits.  I thought it was perfect to display at my Open House.  It is so bright and cheery!

To make this card you will need the following products:

Sweet Sugarplum Card Stock #141418

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • scrap to make the banner

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

I first stamped the banner with Sweet Sugarplum ink on Sweet Sugarplum paper and the used the Emerald Envy for stamping the Happy Anniversary.  The ribbon is the 3/8" Ruched Ribbon in the new color Peekaboo Peach.

Thank you for stopping in!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Stampin!

Joyce

Wedding Card

IMG_1350

I belong to a Facebook group that does a monthly swap and other challenges weekly.  Last week our challenge was to design a black and white card.  Perfect!  I needed a wedding card and black and white are great colors for them.  I found my designer series paper, Timeless Elegance, and knew it would look nice on a wedding card.  There was one problem, it wasn't white, it was very vanilla.  I used it anyway and still posted my card.  I used the curvy corner trio punch #139683 to make the tag.  I love this punch and hope they put it in the next annual catalog.

To make this card I used basic black cardstock measured at 5 1/2" x 8 1/4" score at 4 1/4".  The other paper I used was:

Basic Black:  1 7/8" x 5 1/4" and 1 5/8" x 3 1/8"

Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4" and 1 1/2" x 3"  you will also need scrape paper to stamp the flowers and punch them out.

Timeless Elegance: 2" x 5 14"

I started out stamping the leaves from the stamp set Kinda Eclectic #135350 in the upper right hand corner.  I stamped it twice to give it a fuller look.  I then attached the dsp (designer series paper) to the piece of black paper.  When I attached both to the very vanilla the right hand side of the black was at 2 inches the center of the very vanilla.  This gave you a little space on the left side and enough room to stamp and put your sentiment on.  Then I did all my stamping, the flowers and the sentiment (sentiment went on the 1 1/2" x 3" piece of very vanilla). You will need to stamp 2 flowers from the flower shop stamp set and one flower from the petite petals stamp set.   The punches I used were the pansy and petite petals punches. Both the pansy and the petite petals are available as a bundle (you save 15%)! I used the curvy corner trio punch on all four corners of the black and very vanilla.  I add pearls (the smallest ones on the sentiment and the largest one on the flower) and ribbon to dress it up a little.  I stamped the inside with the saying from the For the New Two ##138562.

IMG_1351

I think this card would be great for any wedding and you can personalize it to the colors of the wedding if you wanted to.

This is the last card from my Baby/Wedding/Anniversary class.  I hope you have enjoyed seeing them and they gave you some inspiration.  I had a fun time creating them and sharing them with all of you.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Happy Stamping

Bloomin' Love Congratulations Card

IMG_1346

On Sunday I was working on my cards for my class and knew I wanted a card that said Congratulations and it needed to be a wedding card.  So, I got on Pinterest to get some ideas and I saw how people were using the Bloomin' Love framelit, which was very different from how I had used it.   I fell in love with this technique.  To me it look so elegant and you could do it with any color.  This would be a great way to color coordinate with the wedding colors.

To make the card I cut the heart out with the Bloomin' Love framelit (this comes as a bundle too) towards the top on the whisper white paper.  I then used the big shot die brush (this is one of my favorite tools right now) to get all the little pieces out of the heart.  I used the fine-tip glue pen #138309 to adhere the heart to the cardstock.  It is perfect for getting all the little areas so that it lays flat.

Then I stamped the congratulations from the stamp set Sassy Salutations with Versa Mark ink and embossed it using the silver embossing powder and heat tool.   I cut the flowers out with the flower framelits that come in the set with the heart (Bloomin' Love) in elegant eggplant.  The bow is made from the wisteria wonder 1/2" seam binding ribbon.

IMG_1347

The inside of the card I used wisteria wonder ink.  I added pearls to the flowers to finish off the card.  They added just a little bit of softness to the card.

If you would like to purchase any of the products just click on the picture below.

I hope you have a fantastic day!

Happy Stamping!
