At my Stamp Camps this month I featured the Sheltering Tree stamp set. I haven't used this stamp set in a very long time and I thought I needed to give it life again. I wanted to do different cards with different techniques. I went to Pinterest to see what I could find and this was one of the cards I found. I can't find it back, so I don't know who originally created this card. Thank you to the creator for sharing your beautiful card.
To begin making this card, you are going to stamp your images on the small piece of Whisper White cardstock. The tree is stamped with Crumb Cake ink and the tree leaves are stamped with Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive. When you stamp the leaves, you are going to first stamp with the Pear Pizzazz and then with the Old Olive. When you stamp with the Old Olive ink you will want to turn the stamp just a little so you are not stamping right on top of the Pear Pizzazz. You want to be able to see both colors and this will make the tree look fuller too.
The grass and flowers are stamped using the Old Olive and the flower buds are stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink. I am not sure if you saw the swing or not, but that is stamped in Soft Suede ink.
You are going to use the Layering Circle Framelits to cut out your circle in the Rich Razzleberry cardstock. After you have finished cutting, then it is time to emboss the same paper with the Sparkle Embossing Folder.
To make sure everything is lined up correctly, before you put any adhesive on any of your cardstock you are going to do a trial run. Lay your stamped white piece of paper on your table and then line up where you want the the Rich Razzleberry piece to go. This is where you can see if you need to trim your piece of white paper before you adhere it.
Once you have everything lined up, put adhesive (I used Snail adhesive) around the circle on the back of the Rich Razzleberry piece. With the white stamped paper on your table, lay the top layer over it and press it down. Then take your ribbon and wrap it around the Rich Razzleberry cardstock, tie a knot and adhere all of this to a card base made from Crumb Cake cardstock.
To make this card you will need the following paper. For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.
- cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
Whisper White Cardstock
- cut at 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4" this will be for the inside of the card
On my inside piece of paper, I stamped flowers along the bottom and then I did the same thing on the bottom left hand side of my envelope. On the envelope I just did a little bit in the corner, but you could easily go all along the bottom edge if you wanted too.
Today is the day that Mark is helping Erica move! I had to take him to the airport this morning at 3:45am! It's a good thing I am use to getting up early everyday. He will get to Erica's around 10:30am and then they will get the moving truck and start loading. They will be driving part of the way back to Ohio today and finish driving the rest of the way tomorrow.
Then the fun begins! We will be unloading the truck and unpacking all of her stuff. I am sure glad that none of us have to work on Monday. However, Monday will definitely be a day of labor in our house!
Check back on Monday, September 3rd for a fun filled blog hop! We will be showcasing projects using products from the new Holiday catalog. I can't wait to see everyone's projects too!
FALL FRIDAYS ARE HERE!!!
STARTING ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH
I will be starting my Fall Friday series on Friday, September 7th and going through Friday, October 26th. Each week I will have a new fall project to share with you. The projects will vary between cards, scrapbook pages and 3D projects.
I will be doing an additional day of blogging during this time. So, I will be posting on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I can't wait to share them with all of you!
I hope all of you have a terrific holiday weekend and Labor Day! Thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by. If possible, please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of todays project.
