Welcome to our Stamp 'N Hop blog hop!  This month our theme is masculine projects.  You have just come from Vicky Wright's post, isn't her project beautiful!

The other day I was in the mood to color, so I went through my stamp sets and picked out a couple to use.  I didn't have any particular style in mind, I just wanted to color.  I colored some other images, but I kept looking at this one from the Heartland stamp set.  This barn reminds me so much of the farm where I grew up.  Since our theme was masculine, I thought of my dad right away.  He would have loved this card.

When I first started designing the card, I had just the black cardstock over the image, but it was missing something, I just didn't know what.  I didn't want to use an embossing folder, I wanted something different.  I was looking at my designer paper, seeing if I could get any ideas there, and that is when I saw the Wood Textures paper.  Once I found the paper, then I had to decide which one to use.  There were so many that would have worked, but I like how this one has some brown, black and gray colors in it.  I have all of those colors in the image, so it was the perfect one to use.  I love how it makes the barn image really stand out.

I used our Watercolor Pencils with the Blending Pens to color the image.  Remember, when you use watercolors you need to Stazon ink when you stamp your images.  Otherwise, your stamped images will bleed into your coloring.

For the Happy Birthday sentiment I used the Sunshine Sayings stamp set and stamped it with Real Red ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.  I cut it out using the Layering Oval Framelits.

I hope you are enjoying all the other beautiful projects on this blog hop.  You can click on the button below to go to Linda's post.  I know you are going to love her project.

Stamp 'N Hop Blog Hop - Share What You Love

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Love What You Do stamp set #148042, Share What You Love Specialty DSP #146926, Share What You Love Artisan Pearls #45927, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Welcome to the the Stamp 'N Hop Blog Hop today!  You might have just come from Cheryl Taylor's blog.  Wasn't here project beautiful!  This month we are creating projects with products from the new 2018-2019 annual catalog.  When I saw the Share What You Love Suite I feel in love immediately.  The designer series paper has a pearlized finish on some of the pages along with the doilies.  There is beautiful ribbon, an embellishment kit, pearls and embossing folder to complete the suite. They are all gorgeous!  You know what the best part is?  You can purchase these products now too!

For my project this month I have created a notebook cover.  One of my friends gave me one as a roommate gift when I went to the Stampin' Up! OnStage event last month and fell in love with it.  I have created so many of these since, that I just can't stop! On the front I used some of the items that in the Share What You Love Suite.  I used the big watercolor stamp with Mint Macaron ink, first I stamped it off on a piece of scrap paper, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I then stamped the sentiment with Mossy Meadow ink and the flowers with Blackberry Bliss ink.  To cut out the stamped images and the Blackberry Bliss layer behind it, I used the Layering Square Framelits.

I added a Pearlized Doily, which I cut in half, behind the Blackberry Bliss square.  The flowers on the bottom of the square were cut out from the same designer series paper that I used to decorate the front.  The two other flowers on the top are from another piece of paper in the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.

To finish off the project, I used the Artisan Pearls that are in this suite.  I used the light and dark pink pearls in the center of the flowers.

On the inside of this notebook there is a pocket for you to put in receipts or papers that you need to keep.  I used the 1 3/4" Circle Punch to create the half circle cutout in the Mossy Meadow piece.

My friends and customers are loving getting these notebooks from me.  For my Hostess Appreciation Event last month I made each of them one with their initial on it.  I used some of the other papers that are in the Share What You Love Specialty designer series pack.

Stamp 'N Hop Blog Hop - Occasions

Stampin' Up! Heart Happiness stamp set #145769, Banners For You stamp set #141710, Petal Passion Designer Series Paper #145589, Sweet and Sassy Framelits #141707, Classic Label Punch #141491, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Welcome to the Stamp 'N Hop blog hop!!!  I am Joyce Whitman, from Ohio,  and this is my first blog hop!  I am so excited to be joining other very talented stampers. We will be doing the blog hops on the second Saturday of each month.  This month we are highlighting projects made from the occasions catalog (which will be available until May 31, 2018).   Don't forget to check out the other projects we have to share with you.    All the links to the other bloggers are at the bottom of this post.

As I was working on designing this card, I saw a card that we made at the conference last weekend.  I loved the layout and decided to use it for this card.  You can use this layout for so many different cards and even scrapbook pages.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock #140272

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Basic Black Cardstock #121045

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 3/4"

Melon Mambo Cardstock #115320

  • cut at 2" x 4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 2" x 2"
  • cut at 2" x 3 1/2"
  • scrap for the sentiment

Petal Passion Designer Series Paper #145589

  • cut at 2" x 5 1/2"

This is an easy card that takes no time at all to put together.  You will stamp the heart from the Heart Happiness stamp set and cut it out with a coordinating framelit from the Sweet and Sassy framelits.  I also cut out 2 hearts, the same size, in Melon Mambo.  For the background on the white paper, I used another stamp from the same set that has 6 little hearts on it.  I turned the stamp a little to the left so the hearts were at an angle.  The stamped heart is popped up using a Stampin Dimensional.

For the sentiment I used the Banners For You stamp set.  I made one of the as a Valentine's card and the other one as a thank you card.  You can use hearts for any occasion, it doesn't have to be just for Valentine's Day.  Of course, I had to add a little bit of bling with the Rhinestones.
