Summer Fun Scrapbook Page

                                               IMG_6503

It is summer, so we had to do a Summer Fun page in my Scrapbooking Class!  I had a lot of fun with this page.  I saw the layout, I am sorry I don't remember where, and loved it.  This layout has a little bit from a few stamp sets, dies and punches.

To make the ice cream cone I used the stamp set Sprinkles of Life and used the Tree Builder punch to punch out the ice cream scoops for the cone.  You will have to fussy cut the ice cream cone itself but it is pretty easy.

To make the flowers on the right hand page I used the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. I cut one of the flowers from Real Red Card Stock and one from the Brights Designer Series Stack.  I also used the butterfly thinly to cut out the two butterflies on the right hand page near the top.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to get the Large Letters Framelits, but then I thought of scrapbooking and knew I had to have them.  They are perfect size for this page.  I stamped them and around the ice cream cone with a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

The little lady bugs on the lower right hand corner are from the Love you Lots stamp set.  I stamped it using Stazon on ink and colored them with the Real Red Marker.  I then punched it out using the 1 1/4" circle punch.

You will need the following measurements to make these scrapbook pages

Letters - Daffodil Delight and Real Red

I used the retired Trio Corner Punch for the corners of  the large white paper and Thick Baker's Twine in White for the bow on the flowers.

I used dimensionals under the ice cream scoops and the lady bugs.

Here are pictures of the individual pages for you to see them better.

Mosaic Scrapbook Page

                       IMG_5980-2

In my scrapbooking classes we make two 2 page layouts and this is one of the page layouts we made in my June class.  It is a simple but yet fun page.  I had just gone through my first order from the Annual Catalog and saw this paper.  I liked it in the catalog, but I really like it in person.  It is so pretty and the colors are so bright and cheerful.  I also love all the different designs, so I had a hard time figuring out which ones to use on this project.

I wanted something colorful and would stand out, but take the attention away from the pictures.  These two patterns are subtle enough, but add a lot to the page.  When I had it finished I just had the Dapper Denim square in the middle and it looked too plain.  I experimented with a bunch of different things, 3-D flowers, sentiments, other DSP paper, embossing and nothing worked.  I think I was over thinking it,  so I went back to simple.  I really liked this one from the Flower Patch stamp set.  Simple, but cute!

You are going to make the same page twice. You can either leave them the same next to each other or turn one of them for a different look. You will see in the picture below that I kept mine the same.

To make this card you will need the following items:

Cajun Craze 12 x 12 Card Stock #131188

Early Espress Card Stock #119686

  • cut four at 4 3/8" x 5 1/2"

Very Vanilla Card Stock #101650

  • cut four at 4 3/8" x 5 1/2"

Dapper Denim Card Stock #141414

  • cut at 2 3/8" 2 3/8"

Moroccan Designer Series Paper #141645

  • cut 4 at 1 1/4 x 4 3/8

I would suggest you lay everything out on your 12 x12 paper to get the spacing correct before you start adhering them to the paper.  I have about 1/8" between each piece.

Here is a picture of how they look together.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  We are in Pennsylvania visiting Mark's family for his niece's graduation.  It is always nice to see everyone, especially since we don't get there as often as we want to.

Thank you for stopping by!

Floral Boutique Scrapbooking Page

                                  IMG_5979-2
                                 Left Side Page

I had my second Scrapbooking Class last night and I am really having fun designing these pages.  I haven't scrapbooked in a very long time, really since I started selling Stampin' Up! which has been over 3 years.  I had a group of my customers ask if I could start teaching classes and I was absolutely!

On this page I wanted to use the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper and Flourish Thinlets from the new Annual Catalog.  I feel in love with the Floral Boutique Suite on page 77 (is it bad that I know the page number by heart already?) as soon as I saw it.  I had a problem with what DSP do I use, they are all so beautiful.  I ended up using only a little section of the paper on this page.  You will definitely be seeing this paper a lot in the future.

The above picture is of the left side page of a 2 page layout and below is the right side page of the layout.   To make both pages you will need the following items:

Night of Navy 12 x 12 Card Stock #131188

  • you will need 2 12 x 12 pieces plus
  • cut 2 at 1/4" x 12"

Night of Navy Card Stock #100867

  • cut 4 at 4" x 6"
  • cut at 3" x 3 1/4" - this is for the sentiment on the right hand page

Whisper White 12 x 12 Card Stock #124302

  • cut at 3/4" x 12

 Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • cut 4 at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"
  • cut one at just under 2" x 4 1/4" - this is for the tag
  • cut at 3" x 3" - this is for the flower on the left hand page
  • cut at 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" - this is for the flower on the right hand page
  • cut at 3 x 3 1/4" - this is for the scallop oval

Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper #141663

  • cut 2 at 1 1/4" x 12 "

When I finished putting this page all put together, it was just missing something, but what?  I kept looking at it and couldn't figure it so I walked away for a few minutes.  Do you do that when you are struggling with a page?  When I came back I figured it out!!! The Night Of Navy 12 x 12 sheets needed something on them, they were too plain.  I used Night of Navy ink and the stamp set Falling Flowers (the medium size flower) to add a little design to it.  I love using the same color of ink and paper together.

I have some hints for you when you make these pages.

  • Use the precision plate for cutting out both of the flowers.
  • On the bigger flower on the right hand page I ended up using the dryer sheet method to get it off the framelit.  The Big Shot Brush was just not getting it out and it was ripping.  It could just be my framelit.
  • I used the Big Shot Brush on the flower on the left hand page
  • I used the fine tip glue pen to adhere both of the flowers
  • I used white embossing powder for the sentiment on the right hand page
  • I used dimensionals to attach the tag
  • I used glue dots to attach the bakers twine

Butterfly Basic Scrapbook Page

                     IMG_1531

What great colors for spring time!!!  Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Rose Red!!  They are so bright and cheery!

This is one page of my two page layout from my first scrapbooking class.  The ladies really liked this one and want me to do more like this.  I can not wait to get the new Designer Series Paper from the new catalog!  It is going to be so much fun to create with it!

For this page I used the Rose Red paper for the background and added Whisper White and Daffodil Delight to break up the pages a little.   I used Old Olive card stock for you to mat your pictures.

The flowers are stamped in Rose Red from the Butterfly Basics stamp set #138816 (clear mount). The saying is from the Feel Goods stamp set, which is retiring at the end of the month, and it is stamped using the Daffodil Delight Ink on Whisper White card stock.

I tried to stamp the ferns in Old Olive ink to match the mats, but it ended up being a little too dark for me.  I decided to use the Pear Pizzazz ink instead as it is a little bit lighter and gave it a softer feel. With the ferns you only ink it once for each area.  You will stamp it once, fully inked, and then just keep stamping with out reinking it. So, for this page you are only going to ink it twice but stamp it 6 times.

The following are the measurements of the paper you will need to make this layout.  This includes the measurements for page 2 also.

Regals Collection of 12" x 12" card stock #131188 (you get 2 sheets of each coloring the collection)  I used Rose Red for both background pages.

Whisper White 12" x 12" Card Stock #124302

  • cut one at 2 1/2" x 3"
  • cut two at 5" x 12"
  • you will need scrap pieces to stamp 4 butterflies on

Brights Collection of 12" x 12" card stock #131186  I used Daffodil Delight

  • cut two at 3/4" x 12

Old Olive Card Stock #100702

  • cut one at 2 3/4 x 3 1/4
  • cut two at 4 1/4" x 4 3/4"
  • cut four at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"

You can get all the Old Olive pieces you need for this page out of  2 pieces of  8 1/2" x 11" card stock.  On the 8 1/2" side cut it in half at the 4 1/4" mark.  You are going to cut both of those pieces of paper on the 11" side at 6 1/4".  This will give you the two big pieces of paper needed for the matting of your pictures.  You will have two pieces measuring 4 1/4" x 4 3/4" left over which you will use one on this page in the left hand corner.  The other piece of Old Olive card stock you need to cut down to 2 3/4" x 3 1/4" for the right hand corner.

Here is a picture of the second page and then of them together.

Circle Scrapbook Pages

                     FullSizeRender 2-2

I had my first Scrapbooking Class on Wednesday night and I think it went very well.  All the ladies enjoyed the class and loved the pages I designed.   I call this page layout the circle page.  I had made a page like this long time ago and loved it, so I thought I would do one for this class.

For the 12 x 12 paper I purchased packs of the Regals Collection 12 x 12 pages #131188.  What is nice about the packs is that you get 2 sheets of each color in the collection.  We will be able to make 10 2 page layouts with one pack of paper!!! Yay!!! For this layout I used the Crushed Curry paper and then I cut the black pieces at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" for 4 x 6 photos.  You could definitely use any size you want to fit your pictures and the space you have.

For the circles I ended up using designer series paper, Wildflower Fields. from Sale-A-Bration which is now retired.  I didn't think about how much paper I would need when I have to prep for 7 people.  This was the only paper I had enough paper of each design I needed.  I now know better and can plan accordingly.   I used the 2 1/2", 1 3/8" and 1" circle punches for this page.  You could use whatever sizes you have, just make sure they are 3 different sizes.

I did not have any special design in mind, I just started laying them out.  I did not put adhesive on them at first, so that way I could move them around if I wanted to.  For my second page I literally made two of the first page and just flipped it.  Here are some pictures so you can see what I mean.

               IMG_1523

Here they are together and you can see how I flipped the page on the right to give it a little bit of a different look.  You can have them the same or you can turn them any way you want.   Let your creativity flow and see what you come up with.

                IMG_1527

I like how you can play with the circles and black pieces of paper  to come up with different designs.

I would love to see what you come up with!

Happy Stampin!
