Birthday Blog Candy!!!

Stampin up, Stampin' Up! Delicate Details, Sale-A-Bration 2017, Birthday blog candy, Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

In our home we love to celebrate birthdays.  We have a tradition that started out as a weekend, now is a week and is quickly growing to a month.  What is it you ask?  We have a birthday weekends.  So, over the weekend my family had to do whatever I wanted to do.  You get to pick the places we eat at if we are going out, what you want to do and get waited on.

To help celebrate my birthday, I am having blog candy!!!!  I am giving away the Delicate Details stamp set along with a Pink Pirouette ink pad.  For you chance to win, all you have to do is leave me a comment and I will randomly draw a name.  I will pick the winner on Wednesday, May 3rd.

Over the weekend, Mark took me out to lunch on Saturday and made me my favorite stir fry for dinner.  I wanted to get the house cleaned on Saturday so Mr. Wonderful (aka Mark) helped me the whole time! Then to finish the night out we had Ritter's Frozen Custard.  Oh my goodness, it is so good.

Yesterday, my friend Bobbi and I reorganized and cleaned out the kitchen at our church.  Bobbi went to throw away some garbage in the big dumpster and dropped her phone in it.  Over the last couple of days we have had a lot of rain, so there was about 2 inches of water in there.  The only way we could get it out was for one of us to climb in there.  Well, her phone, she gets to climb in.  Ok, the real reason was I was laughing so hard I couldn't have done it if I tried.

It was quite comical the whole time.  I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time.  I do believe at one time, I had to cross my legs or there was going to be an accident happening.  LOL  Here are some pictures of our fun adventure.

I have been so blessed to have Bobbi as one of my best friends and sister in Christ.  My life is so much better having her in it!

Thank you for stopping in today!  I hope you have a marvelous Monday!

My Easter Card and pictures from OnStage

stampin up, StaminUp !EasterMessage stamp set #142987, Falling In Love DSP #142788, 3/8 Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I made this card for my open house that I had in January and have been waiting to share it with you.  I fell in love with the card in occasions catalog for this stamp set.  I changed it a little to go with the products I had on hand and it show the ribbon that was in our Sale-A-Bration brochure.  If you don't have this ribbon you could use any ribbon you have on hand.

To make this card, you will need the following products:

Blushing Bride Cardstock #131198

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 7/8" x 4 5/8"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 4 1/2"

Fallin In Love Designer Series Paper #142788

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

I stamped the image from the Easter message stamp set and then used our Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens.  I used the Early Espresso for the cross and the Basic Gray for the cloth.  This added just a hint of color to make a subtle impact.

I used dimensionals under the small Blushing Bride cardstock to give the card dimension.  I also added a piece of very vanilla cardstock to the inside of the card.

Below are some close up pictures of my projects that I had created for my display at OnStage.  I have to say my favorite is the scrapbook page of our farm.  I brought back a lot of memories.  I hope you enjoy your sneak peek of some of the new products.

In the above picture I was given the punch for the lemon/limes.  Did you notice the paper on both the top and bottom pictures on the right hand side.  You are going to love that paper stack.  So many possibilities.  How cute is the tab punch on the gift card holder?  In the bottom collage you will see how I used it to make a background.

I just realized I put a picture in here twice.  I must really like that project.  LOL  You will notice the paper again, can you see I loved it. The crate I made myself, but there is a die in the new catalog that you will be able to make it much easier.

stampin up, Stampin' Up! 2017 OnStage, April, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

The top right one is the background made with the tab punch.  I have to give my daughter Emily credit for that idea.  You might now notice in the pictures, but glossy white paper is back!!!!!  You know what else is in the new catalog that is returning?  The self adhesive sheets! They are going to be wonderful for all our small delicate dies.  On the bottom right corner picture you can see one of the new ribbons, washi tape and embellishments.  The bottom left picture is made using the new glossy white paper.

I am really excited about the glossy white paper.  It retired shortly after I started selling Stampin' Up!, so I didn't really get a chance to play with it.  I am sure there are a lot of really neat techniques out there for me to learn and share with you.

My first box arrived yesterday of the Eastern Suite and my other boxes arrive today from my preorder.  Oh, my goodness!  I think I have died and gone to heaven.  What should I create with first?

Last night we had the grandrandall's for a sleepover.  They were so good, I couldn't have asked for them to behave any better. They had a lot of fun helping me clean up my craftroom for class tonight. Beckett said to me that he thought I should get rid of some of my stuff because I could never use all of it.  Uh, NO!

You are probably wondering who are the grandrandall's.  Five years ago I met Todd and Kumiko when they came to talk to me about taking care of their first baby.  There was an instant connection between all of us.  You know how you meet someone and right away you know they are going to be a part of your lives for a long time, if not, forever.  Over the years, Todd has come to our church, accepted Christ and got baptized.  I was so honored and humbled when he did his video and talked about what an influence our family has had on him with his walk with Christ.  We have all adopted each other as a part of our family.  My girls call Todd their brother and Kumiko their sister and they do the same.  It warms my heart so much.

Some people at church thought Todd was our son.  I physically could have had Todd, but I would have been 14 years old.  We sometimes, say yes he is.  It is easier that way at times.  In our hearts they are our children and their children are our grandchildren.  We love all of them so much and we are so blessed to have them in our lives.

Have a terrific Thursday and thank you for stopping in today.

Double Front Fold Card with Avant Garden

Stamin Up, Stampin' Up! Avant Garden stamp set #143272, 2017 Sale-A-Bration, Double Front Card, Designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

By now I am sure you have realized just how much I love the Avant Garden stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.  I promise this is the last one. This card is called a double front card and is so easy to make.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Melon Mambo Cardstock #115320

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 6 1/4 score at 2"

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683

  • cut 2 at 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4 3/4" x 7 1/2" score at 3 3/4"
  • cut 2 at 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"

The first thing I did was my stamping.  I did the flower for the front and then on the inside I used the birthday sentiment from the stamp set.  One the inside of the card in the lower left hand corner I stamped one flower image in the melon mambo.

I attached the white cardstock to the melon mambo, making sure I was close to the fold line, but not too close.  If you put the whisper white right on the line, the flap of them melon mambo will not lay nice.  I would try it first before you put your adhesive on it so you know exactly where you want to put it.

You will then attach one of the daffodil delight pieces on top of the large white piece of paper, making sure it is centered.  Attach the white piece with the birthday sentiment.

For this step you will want to make sure you attach the white piece with the flower on the daffodil delight and add the ribbon.  Here is a little tip for you.  When you put on your ribbon, you will want to make sure that the edges of your ribbon are on the left hand side of the yellow paper.  You want your ribbon to look nice on the back, because you can see a little of the back of the yellow paper. You can see what I mean in the picture below.  I then added my bow with a glue dot.  It gives it a nice finished look.

You want to make sure that your yellow pieces match up perfectly and then adhere.  PUT TAPE ONLY ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE.  You know how I know that, because I put tape on the whole thing out of habit many times.  You can see what I am trying to explain in the picture below.

Isn't this card so fun?  I love it!  The best part is that it is so easy to make.

Since last week was the beginning of Spring, I thought I would do a craft project with my girls.  Here is a picture of the flower garden they made.  They loved the punched flowers, using some retired products and the spring colors.

I have the cutest little girls in my daycare!  I love them so much!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a terrific Tuesday!

Hello on this wonderful Monday!  I have been working on my projects for my Scrap Along class on Saturday all weekend, that I totally forgot to do a blog post for today.  This card though is worth the wait!

On Friday night I had my Creative Fold Card Class,  it was such a fun class.  One of my customers from South Carolina was here for her daughter's baby shower and was able to join us.  It was so nice to have her here and catch up.

We made this card, called the Four Fold Card with the Avant Garden, Butterfly Basics and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets.  I am in love with this card.  I think I am going to be making one for my mom for her birthday next month.  She loves butterflies and flowers, so it will be perfect.

Here is a picture of what it looks like all opened up.

This is a few from the top of the card.

I have included each step with the products needed for this card.  I thought this might be an easier way to explain how to make the card. You will need the following products:

Elegant Eggplant Cardstock #105126

  • cut at 11 1/2" x 5 1/2" score at 1/4", 3 1/4" and 7 1/4" on the 11 1/2" side PLEASE NOTE THIS USES A PIECE OF 12 x 12 PAPER
  • turn your paper so the the 1/4" line you just scored is at the top of your Simply Scored Scoring Tool and score at 5/8" but ONLY to the last score line.  You don't want to score on the biggest section as this is where you will be adding additional layers and stamping.
  • trim off the little section that was created by this score line
  • accordion fold your paper so the biggest section is on the right hand side as in the picture above.
  • put a strong adhesive on the 1/4" piece (this piece should be your last fold and it should be laying on top on the left hand side)
  • cut a piece at 2 3/4" x 4 1/4"
  • attach the above piece to the adhesive you put on the 1/4" section (this is going to create your first fold)
  • you will need to cut off the little 1/4" section that sticks up above the 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" piece of cardstock
  • you will need scraps for the two butterflies

Wisteria Wonder Cardstock #122922

  • cut 2 at 2 1/2" x 4" - this is for the front panel
  • cut 2 at 3 1/4 x 4 3/4" - this is for panel 2 and 3
  • cut 1 at 4" x 5 1/4" - this is for the biggest panel

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 2 1/4" x 3 3/4"
  • cut 2 at 3" x 4 1/2"
  • cut 1 at 3 3/4" x 5"

You can stamp and decorate each panel as you wish.

I am almost positive you will see this type of card from me again.  It is so easy to make, but looks very impressive.  My kind of card!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

Make A Medallion

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Make A Medallion stamp set #143274, Banners For You stamp set #141710, Lovely Lace Embossing Folder #133737, 2016-2017 Annual Catalog, 2017 Sale-A-Bration, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D items go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I haven't really used the colors, Tip Top Taupe and Rich Razzleberry, together and I am not sure why.  They are so pretty together.  The Sale-A-Bration stamp set Make A Medallion is perfect for these two colors.  There are so many color combinations you could use with this stamp set.

An easy way to add texture to any card is with an embossing folder. The Lovely Lace embossing folder was perfect with this stamp set. They really compliment each other.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Tip Top Taupe Cardstock #138336

  • cut at 5 /12" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 1/2" x 4"
  • scrap for the "For You" banner

Rich Razzleberry Cardstock #115316

  • cut at 3" x 3"
  • cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 3" x 3"

I first stamped the image in the Rich Razzleberry ink and then the second step in Tip Top Taupe.  I used the Layering Circle Framelits for the white and Rich Razzleberry circles.

The sentiment was stamped using the Banners For You stamp set and punched out using the Classic Label punch.

I added two Rhinestones to add a little bling to the card.

I have been busy working on my projects for my Creative Fold Card Class on Friday.  This class is a lot of fun and one of my customers from South Carolina will be able to come.  I can't wait to see her!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

So Very Much Card

stampin up, Stampin' Up! So Very Much, 2017 Sale-A-Bration, Gold embossing powder #109129, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

So Very Much is another great stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration 2017 brochure.  There is two things that I like about this stamp set. First, I really like the font and second, the size of the stamp.  You can make so many fast and easy cards with it.  This card took less than 10 minutes to make.  You could make it even faster if you only stamped the images and didn't emboss it.  I tried to take another picture for you so you could see the gold embossing powder I used on the stamped images.

stampin up, Stampin' Up! So Very Much, 2017 Sale-A-Bration, Gold embossing powder #109129, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

To make this card you will need the following products:

Watermelon Wonder Cardstock # 138334

  • cut at 5 /12" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 3 3/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Falling In Love DSP #142788

  • cut at 4" x 3 1/2"

I used the Lace Doilies in the Occasions 2017 catalog to add to this card.  One thing great about these doilies is they are two sided, one side with Whisper White and the other with Very Vanilla.  I cut the doily in half, that way you can use it on another card.

To get the placing on the doily in the center (my OCD was coming out here LOL), I took the card base and put it in the corner of my grid paper.  I then used one of the points and lined it up on the 2 1/8 line (that is the center of the card front).

I stamped the image and the butterfly from the Grateful Bunch stamp set with VersaMark ink and used Gold Embossing Powder.  If you didn't want to emboss, you could use Early Espresso ink for your stamped images.

Thank you Mary Ann Rossiter for your inspiration for this card.

I hope you have a fabulous week!

Flash Back Friday with Avant Garden

Stampin up, Stampin ' Up! Avant Garden #143272, Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372, Layering Oval Framelits #141706, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.comJoyceWhitman

I was trying to figure out what card to make for my Stamp Camp last week when the card on the left fell off my wall and landed right at my feet.  I don't know if you noticed in my pictures of my craft room that I had cards hanging up on the wall.  The cards up there are the first ones that I made when I started Stampin' Up!

I picked up the card and instantly knew I could make this card, change the colors, stamp set and how I did the sentiment and I could have a new card!  The card on the right is the one we made at Stamp Camp using the Avant Garden stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.

I have used the small flower and leaves a lot from this stamp set a lot, but I haven't used this flower.  I love how it turned out. Do you know how I made the background?  I used my clear blocks (the ones we use with our clear and photopolymer stamps) and my ink pads. You take you clear block and ink it up with what ever ink pad you would like.  You then stamp it on to your paper and make sure you press hard all over the block to get the best coverage.  You won't get a solid image, but that is ok.  You want a little bit of shading in ink, it gives it character.  I used the following colors, blocks and the order I stamped them.

  • Block H with Blushing Bride ink with the long side going up and down
  • Block E with Pool Party ink with the long side going up and down
  • Block B with Mint Macaron ink with the long side going up and down
  • Block A with Mint Macaron ink with the long side going up and down at the top of the paper and                                                                                                         with the short side going up and down at the bottom of the paper

To stamp the flowers, I stamped it twice, I used black Memento ink.  I also stamped the inside of the card and the envelope with one of the flowers.

I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White paper and used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut it out.  The Layering Oval Framelits with Blushing Bride paper made the back layer of the oval.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the ovals to the paper.  To give it a little bit of bling I added 3 of the largest size Rhinestones on the top left hand corner.

Here is a picture of just the card that we made at Stamp Camp.

Avant Garden Card in Sale-A-Bration Flyer

Stampin up, Stampin ' Up! Avant Garden #143272, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com

My friend Theresa was suppose to have a workshop on last Saturday, but we had to change it up a little bit.  We ended up doing a book party (workshop) instead.  Her workshop was going to be centered around the Avant Garden stamp set and this was one of the cards we were going to make.

Does it look a little familiar?  It is like the card that is on page 4 of the Sale-A-Bration flyer. We have such talented designers at Stampin' Up!

To make this card you will need the following products:

Early Espresso Cardstock #119686

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Peekaboo Peach Cardstock #141417

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Crumb Cake Cardstock #120953

  • cut at 1" x 5"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5" for the front of the card
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card

I have a tip for you for figuring out where to stamp your flowers.  The first thing I did was lay out my piece of crumb cake cardstock so the bottom left hand corner is at 1 1/2" up from the bottom of the white piece of paper.  The top right hand side is at 3 3/4" up from the bottom of the white paper.

I then very lightly drew a line on each side of the crumb cake paper.  That way I knew exactly where I was going to be putting the crumb cake paper and so I knew I where to stamp the flowers.  I wrapped 27 inches of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine around The white and peekaboo peach paper.

I also stamped the flowers on the inside of the card and the envelope.

On Friday night Emily came home from Texas for a week!  It has been so nice having her back home.  We have been trying to have as much family time as possible, so I may not have as many blog post this week for you.  I will try my hardest to do at least one to two more this week.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Dragonfly/Avant Card

stampin up, Stampin' Up! AvantGarden #143272, DragonflyDreams #142924, GorgeousGrunge #130517, TimelessTextures #140517, 2017 Occasions, created by Stampin Scraper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com

I saw this card on Pinterest from Melissa Kerman, thank you Melissa for sharing your talent and thought it was a perfect card for my stamp camp.  I did change it up a little bit, but overall it is the same. This card does take a few colors and stamps, but it is also easy to reproduce.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Sahara Sand Cardstock #121043

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 3" x 4"

To make my dragonfly I first stamped it on the small piece of white paper using memento ink.  Using the Always Artichoke ink I took a sponge and colored the middle of it.  Then using the Rich Razzleberry ink and another sponge I did the wings.  When finished I then used the Detailed Dragonfly Framelits to cut it out.  It is easier to color before cutting it out. See the photo below for an example.

Fullsizeoutput_bf4

To stamp the background I first started with the lines from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I stamped off before I stamped it on the paper.  Stamping off means that you ink up your stamp and then stamp on a scrap piece of paper.  This will take off a lot of the ink and you will have a lighter image on your final project.

I then stamped the flowers and the light green design in Pear Pizzazz ink and the little green leaves in Always Artichoke.  The dragonfly is popped and I put Wink of Stella on it.

On the inside of the card and on the envelope I stamped the flower.

It has been an eventful week at our house.  On Tuesday the plumbers came to do the work in the basement my craft area.  They finished the work on Wednesday, which was great.  On Tuesday night I came down with a stomach bug and couldn't work for two days. Thankfully Erica is home and is going to help me today with the little ones, so I can work.  I feel better, just very weak as I haven't eaten in 3 days.

If that isn't enough, yesterday I went to take a shower and we have no hot water.  The pilot light went out in the hot water heater, so I figure this is an easy fix.  Oh no, it won't light.  Our wonderful plumber is coming this morning to look at it.  Here's another problem, if the water heater has to be replaced he can't do it until next week.

So, I guess we will be staying in a hotel or hitting up some of our friends so we can take showers.  I tried this morning and I just couldn't do it.  It was freezing!!!!  It woke me up!  LOL

Here is a collage of pictures from our plumbing work.  If you notice you will see 3 holes in our ceiling which they covered with nice covers so we can get to them again if needed.  I couldn't believe how clean and careful he was.  I would recommend Mark's Plumbing to everyone.  No it isn't my husband.  When I am talking to his wife we have to say, my Mark or your Mark.  Sometimes I does get confusing. We always have a good laugh over all of it.

This weekend we are going to be putting my craft room back together.  I think we are going to totally reorganize it, which is fun.  I am going to be going through a lot of things and getting rid of things I don't use anymore.  I know I have way too much stuff and Mark definitely knows it.  LOL  When it is done, hopefully on Saturday, I will be able to start stamping again!  It will have to be after I sterilize my house from all the germs from me and the kids.  We need to get the sickness out of here!

Have a fabulous Friday and weekend!
