Yesterday one of my precious daycare angels turned 3 years old.  Yay!  He loves dragons, so what better stamp set to use than the Magical Day one.  I have to admit, I purposely bought this set because it has the stamp Hope Your Day is Magical.  We all know what that means?!  Disney!!!  We are going to Disney, for the 8th time, and I thought it would be perfect for my scrapbooks.

When I am looking for inspiration for my cards, scrapbook pages and other projects I go to a variety of places.  I google images of a certain stamp set I want to use, Pinterest, Facebook groups, blogs, Split Coast Stampers, magazines, books, just to name a few.  For this layout I saw a card with designer series paper punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch all over the front of it.  Now, that would have been a lot to do the whole page, but I thought it would look great as a border.  

I really like how it grounds this page.  There are so many colors in the Picture Perfect Party designer series paper, which made it fun to work with. 

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the coordinating stamp set, Picture Perfect Birthday.  I stamped it in Memento Black ink and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The bottom layer of the sentiment is Lemon Lime Twist cardstock cut with Layering Oval Framelits.  

For the balloons I used other designs from the same paper pack and White Bakers Twine for the string on them.

I have a little trick to line up the border.  See the picture below.

I put them down in this order to make sure they were even.  Yep, my OCD was kicking in.  LOL 

1.   Put it in the center of the paper with the point on the 6" mark.
2.   Put the edge of the piece even with the edge of the black 12 x 12 paper.
3.   Center these pieces between #1 and #2. 
4.   For your second row you will put the center point in the center of the space between the pieces in the first row.  

The Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set will be carried over to the new annual catalog, but the Picture Perfect Party designer series paper will be retiring.  If you are wanting to get this paper I would do it as soon as possible, because it is while supplies last.

When I started looking at the inspiration card I knew I wanted to use retiring products.  I wanted to give you another idea on how to use the beautiful paper Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. For the base of my card I used Marina Mist cardstock that is also retiring.  I am going to miss all three of these products.

To get the banner cuts on the end of the two banners I used the Classic Label Punch, but you can also use your scissors. 

This is a great layout to use for any occasion and the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set has 24 different sentiments which is perfect.  

Life has been really crazy since I got back from OnStage.  On Monday I had a doctor's appointment with an ENT as I have been having problems with ringing in my ears.  I have to go through more testing, but I did learn that I have some permanent hearing loss in my left ear and my right ear is not far behind.  I have to admit, I have taken this news hard.  I am having more test next Tuesday and hopefully this will show more of what is going on.  

Then on Thursday night I got a phone call from my sister that my mom was taken to the hospital via the squad.  Her blood pressure was 215 over 110.  Talk about scary.  It was caused from the cough syrup she was taking .  My mom is doing great now, thank God!  I am heading up to Michigan on Thursday to spend time with Erica and my mom and help her celebrate her birthday.  I can't believe that my mom is going to be 85!  It will be great to see my family!

Lets talk about OnStage!  It was so much fun!  I got to walk across the stage for being a demonstrator for 5 years and for promoting to Silver Elite.  I had so much fun!  I can't wait to go again in November.  There was also great sadness that weekend.  One of my best friends, Cathy, got to Milwaukee on Thursday and Mary and I were driving up on Friday.  We couldn't wait to spend the weekend together!  We got a call on Friday morning from Cathy that her husband had passed away during the night and she had to get home.  Talk about total shock and my heart was and still is breaking for her.  I can not imagine what she is going through.  If you get a chance please say a prayer for her and her family.  They have a lot to go through over the next few weeks and months.

So, the last week has had a lot of emotional days, but I know God is in control of all of the situations, so I trust Him that He has the best plan for all of us.

While I was at OnStage Stampin' Up! announced that there will be a Color Revamp for the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  I love the new colors, the returning in colors and I have to say I even agree with most of the colors that are retiring.  I know some people don't like change, but I think you are going to actually love this change.  The new colors are so beautiful.  Would you like to see the new colors?  Here they are: 

Here are all the details of the Color Revamp:

• You will notice that Black, Very Vanilla and Whisper White are not in the picture above.  That is because now they are in there own category called basics.  The colors of Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow and Night of Navyhave been added to the Neutrals.
• Did you see the returning retired in colors?  They are Blackberry Bliss, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow and Poppy Parade.  Yay!  Some of these are my favorites. 
• The Brights are really bright now which is perfect for Spring and Summer.  The new ones are  Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green. Gorgeous Grape and Poppy Parade.   
• Subtles have the most new colors.  They are Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.
• Regals have two new colors, Shaded Spruce and Blackberry Bliss. Did you notice that some of the brights are now in the regals? What fun!

With the color revamp this was the perfect time to also change up our ink pads for the better.  The new ink pads have the same type of pad, foam, but with a defoamer added.  This will stop the bubbles that happen sometimes with the refills.  They have three huge features that I am really excited about.  The first, is that they are easier to open and second, they are stackable!  Yes, stackable!  They will take up a lot less room now.  The third is that they now will have a sticker that you can put on the inside of the ink pad so that when the pad is open you will be able to tell what color it is.  This is perfect for when you have multiple ink pads open.  This way you won't accidentally put a stamp that has Blackberry Bliss on it in the Daffodil Delight ink.  

Another great feature of the new ink pads is that they will still fit in the Color Caddy.  Yay!

I have been waiting to share this project with you since I finished them.  I had to wait until I gave them to my roommates at the Stampin' Up! OnStage before I could put them on here.  I had so much fun making these and creating the different aspects of it.  I got this idea from Cayleigh May when I saw it on Facebook.  

I had to change the measurements a little as she made hers with metric measurements.  I know I will be making more of this in the future.  

Here are some pictures of the inside and how I decorated it.  This project is too long to write out the measurements and directions on here.  I am going to try and do a video of this along with the embossing paste project in the near future.  I will say, it will probably be in May before I get a chance to make them.  

This is the inside of the album.  On the left hand side you have two pockets where you can put ticket stubs or attach things to the pieces of decorated cardstock.  I put two of them in each pocket and held them together with little clothespins.  On the front of the green pocket I put the event we are at this weekend.

On the right hand side is the mini album part.  There are nine different flaps that I decorated and you can add different pictures or quotes to.  Here is a collage of the flaps.

I can't wait to see what they think of them!  Wouldn't these be fun to make for different occasions and give them away as gifts?  I am going to have to remember that!

The last couple of months at my Stamp Camps I have been creating projects using one stamp set.  That way I can show my ladies different ways to use the stamp set, designer series paper, embellishments and framelits.  Last month we did the Picture Perfect Party Suite.

I always tell my customers to stamp first and then punch or cut out with framelits.  This is one time that I told them to punch first and then stamp.  The reason is, you need to know where to put the sentiment on the tag and it is easier to already have it punched out.  

The Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon is so beautiful.  I think this might be my favorite ribbon in a very long time.  I am so happy to let you know that this ribbon will be carried over to the new annual catalog.  Yay!!!  

I popped up the tag and added the Tutti Frutti Sequins and Bakers Twine bow to finish off the card.  

This is going to be a short post as I am still trying to finish up things for my trip to Milwaukee for the Stampin' Up! OnStage.  I have had to do things a little slower this week as I hurt my shoulder on Monday night.  I really think my body is starting to give out from picking up all my precious angels for the last 29 years.  My shoulder is doing much better today, but I still have to be real careful of what I pick up with that arm.

There are a couple of my favorite products on this card.  The Sweet Soriee Designer Series Paper and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  At my Stamp Camp on Friday night we were just talking about how nice the Stitched Shapes Framelits really add to the card.  

My inspiration for this CASEing Tuesday card came from the card below.  It is a square card, but I changed mine into a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card.  

I wanted to use this card as a thank you card for orders from a workshop.

I wrapped the Sweet Sugarplum Stripped Ribbon around the card first and then adhered the layers.  I tied a knot around the ribbon after everything else was on the card.  Then I knew how much I needed to trim my ribbon.  I popped up the sentiment with Stampin Dimensionals.

Reminder - Sweet Sugarplum is one of the 2016-2018 In Colors that will be retiring.  If you want any of the colors, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach or Sweet Sugarplum, I highly suggest you get them now.  Once the retirement list comes out on April 9th, any product with those colors will sell out very fast.

Look what I got in the mail yesterday!

On April 7th we have our Stampin' Up! OnStage, it is like a conference, and I can't wait.  On Friday night they have Center Stage for any demonstrator that has the title of Silver Elite or above.  I am so excited to be going.  This is the first one I am going to since I was promoted to Silver Elite.  I heard that it is a lot of fun.  This year the theme is 80's since Stampin' Up! started in 1988.  I am however, not dressing up.  I didn't like to do it as a kid and I still don't.  I am thankful I am not the only one not dressing up.

Do you need a fast and simple card?  I have a perfect one for you today.  If you have been reading my blog, you know I love the Tutti Frutti cards and envelopes.  Well, today I used them in a little bit of a different way than the normal card base.  

Today, I cut up the Calypso Coral and Pool Party card bases and added them to a base from Calypso Coral cardstock.  This way, I will get more cards out of this awesome set. 

The sentiment and little bird came from the A Good Day stamp set in the Occasions catalog.  Did you see the scalloped circle behind the bird?  That is made from the new 1 3/8" Scalloped Circle punch that is on the same page as the stamp set.  There is also a 1 1/8" scalloped circle punch available.

I used the Blends markers to color the little bird.  These have been so popular that Stampin' Up! hasn't been able to get them in fast enough to keep up with the demand.  To help with backorders and to make sure everyone who wants them gets them, they are not going to be available to purchase until the new Annual Catalog in June.  If you have used them, you understand why they are so popular.  If you haven't, you will have to try them when they are available again.  I absolutely love them!  I am really hoping that when they are in the new catalog, there will be more colors.  

The first thing I did to make this card was adhere the Pool Party strip to the Calypso Coral printed paper.  I went up about 3/4 of an inch from the bottom.  I then wrapped the 3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon around the above pieces and had it lay half way on the Pool Party strip and half on the Calypso Coral and tied it in a knot.  Adhere all of that to the Calypso Coral Base. 

I stamped the little bird and the sentiment from the A Good Day stamp set, using the Memento ink, and punched them out with the Classic Label Punch and the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  The bird and sentiment are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added one medium Rhinestone at the end of the sentiment for some bling.   

The little bird is also stamped on the inside of the card and on the envelope.  You never send out a naked envelope (per Shelli, the co founder of Stampin' Up!).
