Have you ever participated in a swap?  Some of you may be wondering what is a swap?  A swap is where you make cards, or cardnfronts, for everyone that is participating.  So if there is 12 people  involved, you will make 12 cards of the same design.  In return you will get 12 cards, 11 different and one of your own.  This is a great way to get ideas for cards and to use either for classes, or to give to someone.  The above card was originally created by Connie Ingram, another demonstrator, from Colorado.

I changed a color on the card, but overall the design is hers.  Isn't lovely.  I really like how it turned out and it showcases the Tin of Cards stamp set, Banner framelits, Lace Doilies and the 2016-2018 Designer Paper Stack, all which are retiring.  The silver bow is a retired product from a couple of years ago.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Dapper Denim Cardstock #141414

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 5 1/2"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 5 1/4"

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
  • scraps for flower and leaves

2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stacks #141408

  • cut at 3 1/2" x 5 1/4"

I have found to make the white banner frame easiest,  put the two banner framelits on at the same time.  Center the smaller one inside of the larger framelit.  Run it through your big shot at the same time. See picture below.

The flower and circle with sentiment on it are the only two things I used dimensionals on.  The rest of the layers were attached with snail adhesive.

When we went to Disney one time, we have gone multiple times - we love Disney, we decided to take pictures of all of our food.  I scrapbook vacations and we didn't want this one to be anything like all the others.  So, now we take pictures of our food all the time.  I know it's crazy.

So, of course, when I was in Minneapolis, I took pictures.  I have to say, I had some of the best food ever there.  On Friday, we were starved by the time all of us got to the hotel.  So we had found on the internet a Mexican restaurant called Salsa a La Salsa not far from our hotel.  Oh My Goodness!!!!!  It was the best Mexican food I have ever had.  Here is a picture of my fajitas.

IMG_8360

I am dreaming of this food as I am typing up this blog post.  Yummy!

On Friday night we were busy working on Carla's swaps, so we just ordered pizza.  We found a place that delivered, and had gluten free pizzas.  The one in the above picture is mashed potatoes, broccoli, bacon and tomatoes.  I am weird and I don't care for pizza with the red sauce.  I will eat it, but I am not crazy about it.

On Saturday night after the conference a bunch of us went to the Newsroom Restaurant for dinner.  Again, we had the best food.  I asked the server what their desserts were, so I knew what to order for dinner.  She said, "why not have dessert first?".  Sounded good to Carla and I, so that is exactly what we did.  I had the white chocolate creme burlee and again, Oh My Goodness!  I am going to have to do that more often, dessert first.

IMG_8500

Doesn't that just look delicious!  I want to go back to Minneapolis and take Mark to all the wonderful places we went to eat.  I think he would love it.  Maybe it will be time for a road trip soon!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend.

Happy Celebrations

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Happy Celebrations #143012, 2017 Occasions catalog, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking, 3D projects and more go to stampinscrapper.com

Do you need an easy peasy birthday card?  I have the perfect one for you.  This card could be masculine or famine depending on the colors you use.  You could even dress it up more with a ribbon or rhinestones.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Marina Mist Cardstock #119682

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Pool Party Cardstock #122924

  • cut at 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

I used the Marina Mist and Pool Party to stamp the front of the card. The Happy Celebrations stamp set is a two step stamp set.  You stamp the Marina Mist part first and then Pool Party.  You are finished! Wasn't that fast and easy?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.  We had a great time spending the afternoon with the grand Randall's.  Yesterday, I got to see one of my good friends, Lisa, get baptized.  It was such a wonderful event.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a marvelous Monday.

My Easter Card and pictures from OnStage

stampin up, StaminUp !EasterMessage stamp set #142987, Falling In Love DSP #142788, 3/8 Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I made this card for my open house that I had in January and have been waiting to share it with you.  I fell in love with the card in occasions catalog for this stamp set.  I changed it a little to go with the products I had on hand and it show the ribbon that was in our Sale-A-Bration brochure.  If you don't have this ribbon you could use any ribbon you have on hand.

To make this card, you will need the following products:

Blushing Bride Cardstock #131198

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 7/8" x 4 5/8"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 4 1/2"

Fallin In Love Designer Series Paper #142788

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

I stamped the image from the Easter message stamp set and then used our Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens.  I used the Early Espresso for the cross and the Basic Gray for the cloth.  This added just a hint of color to make a subtle impact.

I used dimensionals under the small Blushing Bride cardstock to give the card dimension.  I also added a piece of very vanilla cardstock to the inside of the card.

Below are some close up pictures of my projects that I had created for my display at OnStage.  I have to say my favorite is the scrapbook page of our farm.  I brought back a lot of memories.  I hope you enjoy your sneak peek of some of the new products.

In the above picture I was given the punch for the lemon/limes.  Did you notice the paper on both the top and bottom pictures on the right hand side.  You are going to love that paper stack.  So many possibilities.  How cute is the tab punch on the gift card holder?  In the bottom collage you will see how I used it to make a background.

stampin up, Stampin' Up! 2017 OnStage, April, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I just realized I put a picture in here twice.  I must really like that project.  LOL  You will notice the paper again, can you see I loved it. The crate I made myself, but there is a die in the new catalog that you will be able to make it much easier.

stampin up, Stampin' Up! 2017 OnStage, April, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

The top right one is the background made with the tab punch.  I have to give my daughter Emily credit for that idea.  You might now notice in the pictures, but glossy white paper is back!!!!!  You know what else is in the new catalog that is returning?  The self adhesive sheets! They are going to be wonderful for all our small delicate dies.  On the bottom right corner picture you can see one of the new ribbons, washi tape and embellishments.  The bottom left picture is made using the new glossy white paper.

I am really excited about the glossy white paper.  It retired shortly after I started selling Stampin' Up!, so I didn't really get a chance to play with it.  I am sure there are a lot of really neat techniques out there for me to learn and share with you.

My first box arrived yesterday of the Eastern Suite and my other boxes arrive today from my preorder.  Oh, my goodness!  I think I have died and gone to heaven.  What should I create with first?

Last night we had the grandrandall's for a sleepover.  They were so good, I couldn't have asked for them to behave any better. They had a lot of fun helping me clean up my craftroom for class tonight. Beckett said to me that he thought I should get rid of some of my stuff because I could never use all of it.  Uh, NO!

You are probably wondering who are the grandrandall's.  Five years ago I met Todd and Kumiko when they came to talk to me about taking care of their first baby.  There was an instant connection between all of us.  You know how you meet someone and right away you know they are going to be a part of your lives for a long time, if not, forever.  Over the years, Todd has come to our church, accepted Christ and got baptized.  I was so honored and humbled when he did his video and talked about what an influence our family has had on him with his walk with Christ.  We have all adopted each other as a part of our family.  My girls call Todd their brother and Kumiko their sister and they do the same.  It warms my heart so much.

Some people at church thought Todd was our son.  I physically could have had Todd, but I would have been 14 years old.  We sometimes, say yes he is.  It is easier that way at times.  In our hearts they are our children and their children are our grandchildren.  We love all of them so much and we are so blessed to have them in our lives.

Have a terrific Thursday and thank you for stopping in today.

When I made this card for my Creative Fold Class I knew I wanted to also use it for my birthday swap at OnStage.  This is a unique fold that I hadn't seen before.  I can't remember where I saw it, but I love it.

The requirements for this swap was we had to use current product, had to have 2 layers and 2 embellishments.  You can definitely see my washi tape, but maybe not my other embellishment.  If you look real close you will see Wink of Stella on the ice cream cone.

Fold on all your score lines, burnish them with your bone folder and adhere the pieces of Watermelon Wonder cardstock to the Peekaboo Peach.  Add your stamped pieces and designer series paper to the Watermelon Wonder sections.

To the front piece I added Washi Tape and an ice cream cone cut out using the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies.  I added Wink of Stella to the bottom edges of all the ice cream scoops and to all of the chocolate.  I however, did not add it to the ice cream cone inside of the card.

Lindt Easter Chick Holder

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Crazy About You stamp set #137137, 1 1/4" Circle Punch #119681, Petite Petals #133322, Classic Label Punch #141491, Banner Triple Punch #138292, Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack #142737, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to Stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I love chocolate!  I love the Lindt Chicks and Lambs!  I love making holders for them!  You can't tell me this little guy peeking out the window isn't adorable. He makes me smile every time I look at him.

To make this little guy you will need the following products:

Tempting Turquoise Cardstock #102067

  • cut at 2" x 8" score at 3 1/2" and 4 1/2"  ***cut your paper just a hair under 2" so it will slide in the punch perfectly

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683

  • scrap for flower using the petite punch

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • scrap for sentiment punched out with the Classic Label Punch

Using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, punch each end of your 2" x 8" piece of paper and fold on your score lines.  I set my little chick in the holder to figure out where I was going to punch out the circle using the 1 1/4 circle punch.  I attached the chick with fast fuse adhesive.

Isn't he just so cute?  This little holder is so easy to make, you are going to want to make a lot of them.

This is a great project to make for your family, friends and coworkers.

As you are reading this post, I am on my way to Minneapolis for the Stampin' Up! OnStage event.  I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am.  I will be setting up my display later today and meeting up with some new friends.  I will be posting on Facebook and Instagram with pictures.

Have a fabulous Friday!!

Window Shopping Creative Fold Card

stampin up, Stampin' Up Window Shopping stamp set #143265, Blossom Bunch Punch #140612, Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper, creative fold card, 2017 Occasions Catalog, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Here is another fun creative fold card we made in my class.  This design is called the Double Z Fold.  When you look at the card from the top you can see the double Z.  See the picture below.

stampin up, Stampin' Up Window Shopping stamp set #143265, Blossom Bunch Punch #140612, Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper, creative fold card, 2017 Occasions Catalog, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

To make this card you will need the following products:

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2" on long side
  • cut at 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4" on long side
  • cut at 3" x 3 1/4"

Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper #142778

Flowers:

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut 2 at 2 1/2" x 4"

Checkered Paper:

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 4"
  • cut 2 at 1 7/8" x 3 1/4"

The first thing is to adhere your designer series paper on to the two white pieces of paper.  Put adhesive on the back of the right hand section of the smaller white piece and adhere it to the biggest section of the flower paper towards the right side.  See picture above for placement.

Fold both sections so you can see where you will need to put the adhesive on the left hand side.  Remember only put adhesive on the section that is going to be attached to the big white piece.  You know how I know that, because I have put adhesive on the whole section, even after I tell myself not to do it.

Stamp the 3" x 3 3/4" piece of white paper with Mint Macaron ink towards the top.  You want to make sure you have room for your flowers.  I have also added flowers on the two the panels.  You can see them in the picture above.  I then added a medium sized rhinestone in the center of all the flowers.

I have had a few crazy days with designing my scrapbook pages for my Scrap Along class and working on my swaps for OnStage. I can say they are finished!!!  I am now busy working on my social media, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and this blog.  I am trying to get everything before I leave on Friday for OnStage.

Can I tell you I am so excited!   I can't wait to see Cathy, Carla, Kim, Beth and Lynn.  We are going to have so much fun.  I will be posting pictures on my Facebook page, Stampin Scrapper  and my Instagram during the weekend.  Click on the links in the previous sentence to see all of the pictures.

Thank you for stopping by and have a Marvelous Monday and week!

So Very Much Card

stampin up, Stampin' Up! So Very Much, 2017 Sale-A-Bration, Gold embossing powder #109129, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

So Very Much is another great stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration 2017 brochure.  There is two things that I like about this stamp set. First, I really like the font and second, the size of the stamp.  You can make so many fast and easy cards with it.  This card took less than 10 minutes to make.  You could make it even faster if you only stamped the images and didn't emboss it.  I tried to take another picture for you so you could see the gold embossing powder I used on the stamped images.

stampin up, Stampin' Up! So Very Much, 2017 Sale-A-Bration, Gold embossing powder #109129, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

To make this card you will need the following products:

Watermelon Wonder Cardstock # 138334

  • cut at 5 /12" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 3 3/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Falling In Love DSP #142788

  • cut at 4" x 3 1/2"

I used the Lace Doilies in the Occasions 2017 catalog to add to this card.  One thing great about these doilies is they are two sided, one side with Whisper White and the other with Very Vanilla.  I cut the doily in half, that way you can use it on another card.

To get the placing on the doily in the center (my OCD was coming out here LOL), I took the card base and put it in the corner of my grid paper.  I then used one of the points and lined it up on the 2 1/8 line (that is the center of the card front).

I stamped the image and the butterfly from the Grateful Bunch stamp set with VersaMark ink and used Gold Embossing Powder.  If you didn't want to emboss, you could use Early Espresso ink for your stamped images.

Thank you Mary Ann Rossiter for your inspiration for this card.

I hope you have a fabulous week!

Happy Celebrations with Celebrations Due Embossing Folder

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Happy Celebrations #143012, Celebrations Due Textured Impressions Embossing Folders #142760, Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack #142737, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking, 3D projects and more go to stampinscrapper.com

The Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, boy, that is a long name LOL, come with the words celebrate and happy.   The fun thing with these embossing folders is they give a 3D affect to the embossing.  They also coordinate with the Happy Celebrations stamp set.

To use these embossing folders, you first run your paper with them through the Big Shot.  You then stamp on top of them and the ink will not go on the words.  It is hard to show you what I mean in the picture.  It is really a neat and different design to your cards.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Real Red Cardstock #102482

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Pumpkin Pie Cardstock #105117

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683

  • 1/2" x 1 3/8"

The circles are made with a stamp from the Happy Celebrations stamp set.  I used the ribbon from the Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack from the Occasions catalog.  For the banner, I used VersaMark ink and White Embossing Powder and then hand cut the tail of the banner.

I have been working on my scrapbook page for the display at OnStage and it sure is bringing back a lot of memories.  My dad has been gone for 29 years in April, but lately it seems like yesterday. Isn't it amazing how photographs can bring back so many memories, thoughts and feeling after so many years?  I am very happy with all the happy memories I have of my dad, Pa Louie,  I sure do love and miss him.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
