Merry Christmas Monday Week #7

Stampin Up, Stampin Up Winter Woods #147661, Shadow Box Card, Christmas Card, Created by Stampin Scrappr, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I saved my best project for last the Merry Christmas Monday project of 2018!   I made my first shadow box card!  I saw a regular folded card made with the Winter Woods stamp set from the holiday catalog and they embossed the trees in white.  That got my creative juices flowing and I knew what I wanted to do, but I needed to figure out how.

I got on to YouTube and saw a tutorial from Dawn Griffith on how to do a shadow box card.  I watched her make one and went from there on how to design my card.  Thank you for Dawn for sharing your directions!

Isn't the side view so awesome!!!  I was so excited when I finished this card, that I had to run upstairs and show it to Mr. Wonderful and Erica.  I have to say, I think I impressed them with this card! Yay!!!  This card will lay flat so you can put it in a normal size envelope.

Here is a close up of the front of the card.  On this piece I stamped the trees with Versa Mark and then used Clear Embossing Powder to give them that shine.  On the inside of the card, I used Night of Navy ink to create the background and then used White Embossing Powder on the trees.

For my snow I did use the retired white velvet paper that was in the holiday catalog.  You could use the Sparkle Glimmer paper that is in the annual catalog.  I made this card about 2 months ago and the paper was available at that time.  It has been hard waiting share this card with all of you.  The trees in the Winter Woods are so beautiful.  It doesn't matter if you stamp them with ink, or emboss them with different embossing powders, they are still beautiful each and every time.   I am so excited that this stamp set is carrying over into 2019!

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Night of Navy

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 10 1/2" score at 1/2", 4". 4 1/2" and 8"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/2"

Whisper White

  • cut 2 at 3 1/4" x 5 1/4"

To cut the opening I used the Layering Square Framelits to create a rectangle.  In the new Occasions catalog there is Rectangle Stitched Framelits that I can't wait to try.  I used the Metallic Edge Ribbon in Whisper White to wrap around the front of the card.  I then took another piece of the ribbon and used it to tie a knot.

I really, really, enjoyed making this card and have already come up with ideas to make another one with this shadow box type of fold.

I hope you like the card I created and would love to hear your feedback on it.  Please let a comment below.  I ended up making this card for both our moms for their Christmas cards this year.   I know they are going to love it, because moms are suppose to love whatever we make.  Right?

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you are all finished with your Christmas shopping.  If not, I might see you out shopping later this week!

Merry Christmas Monday Week #6

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Merry Christmas Monday 2018 Week #6, Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set #142043, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch #140396, Festive Farmhouse designer series paper #147820, Striped Burlap Trim #147889, Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine #147888, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

How cute is this little girl?  I made the little gingerbread girl treat for my team, Joyful Butterflies, for our Christmas Party last night.  Inside the treat box is a Hershey chocolate Santa.  When I bought them I thought they were the same size as the snack size candy bars, but they were bigger.  I am not complaining about getting more chocolate!  However, I needed to create a box to fit them, because all of my other boxes that I usually use were too small.

I have to admit, I love creating 3D projects, so this was right up my alley. To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Cherry Cobbler

  • cut at 4 1/2" x 5"  on 5" side score at 1/2, 2 1/4", 2 3/4" and 4 1/2"

Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 1 5/8 x 4 3/8"

Use your bone folder to burnish all the score lines and add Tear and Tape to one of the 1/2" flaps.  Adhere the other 1/2" section to the section with the Tear and Tape.  This will create your box (there is no bottom to this box, it will go around your candy bar).

I used the 5/8" Striped Burlap Trim to wrap around the candy bar (from the top to bottom) and it took about 14".  I then used the Cherry Cobbler Twine from the Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine to tie around the burlap.  I added two glue dots to the back of the candy bar to hold the ribbon in place.

To get your candy bar out of the box, pull up on the ribbon.  I used the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set for the gingerbread girl and adhered her with Stampin Dimensionals.

Snowflake Sentiments stamp set #144820, Large Letter Framelits #141712, Layering Oval Framelits #141706, Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372, Sprig Punch #148012, Merry Christms Monday Week #5 created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Welcome to Merry Christmas Monday!!!  This week I have a great project using the Ferrero Rocher candies.  If you like to give this candy as a gift, which I do, you are going like this project!

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Snowflake Sentiments stamp set #144820, Large Letter Framelits #141712, Layering Oval Framelits #141706, Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372, Sprig Punch #148012, Merry Christms Monday Week #5 created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I was on Pinterest looking for ideas for the Ferrero Rocher treat holders when I came across this design by Candy Ford.  It caught my eye right away.  Erica had just told me that she needed a gift for her secret Santa at work.  Perfect timing!  When I finished making one for Erica, I decided I need to make some more for me!  They turned out so pretty!

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Cherry Cobbler

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 11 1/2" score at 1 1/2" on all four sides - this is the box
  • cut at 4 1/16" x 10 1/16" score at 3/4" on all four sides - this is the lid
  • cut at 3 7/16 x 9 7/16 score at 1/2" on all four sides - this is the insert
  • scrap for sprig

Tranquil Tide

  • cut at 1" x 10" this is the band
  • scrap for sprig

Whisper White

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Vellum

  • scrap for sprig

Gold Foil Sheet

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"
  • cut at 1 1/2" x 7 1/2" for the letter H
  • scraps for 3 circles using the 1 3/4" circle punch
  • scraps for 2 sprigs

Before assembling the boxes you need to do a little bit of work on the insert.  First, I used a 1 3/8" circle framelit (or retired punch) and cut  out 3 circles from scrap pieces of gold foil paper.  You need to make sure you leave enough room around the circles you just punched out, so you can punch another circle using a 1 3/4" circle punch.  This is going to create the ring that goes around the candy.  Once you have them punched lay out the H's and rings on the insert where you want them.  Once you are happy where they are glue them down.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Snowflake Sentiments stamp set #144820, Large Letter Framelits #141712, Layering Oval Framelits #141706, Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372, Sprig Punch #148012, Merry Christms Monday Week #5 created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Line up the 1 3/8" punch or framelit with the inside of the circle and cut.  If you are using a punch, you will need to fold under the 1/2" side for the paper to fit in the punch.

All three sections are made the same way.  First, burnish the score lines with a bone folder and cut up the score lines to create tabs.  Use Tear and Tape on the tabs to make the boxes.  Put the insert you just finished inside of the biggest box.  You don't have to used any adhesive.  Put a glue dot on the bottom of each candy so they don't fly around in the box.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Snowflake Sentiments stamp set #144820, Large Letter Framelits #141712, Layering Oval Framelits #141706, Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372, Sprig Punch #148012, Merry Christms Monday Week #5 created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I put the band around the box and adhered it with Tear and Tape.  Whenever I do a 3D project I use Tear and Tape as it has the strongest glue we sell.  I stamped the image from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set using the Cherry Cobbler ink.

Don't forget to stop in on Wednesday when Stampin' Up! announces the Year End Closeout sale.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great week!

I had a friend who asked me for a holder for the Hershey nuggets.  I wanted something different than my usual one that I have made so many times before.  I love the design, but wanted to do something totally different.  This time I covered the nuggets with designer series paper and put them inside the 3" x 6" gusseted cellophane bags.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! I used 1" x 3" pieces of the Santa's Workshop speciality designer series paper to wrap the nuggets.  I then used a 4" x 8" piece of the paper with the snowmen on it.  I wrapped the nuggets with this piece of paper and tied a ribbon around it using the 3/8" Cotton Ribbon in Real Red.

I stamped the snowman from the Spirited Snowmen stamp set on Whisper White cardstock and colored with Stampin Write markers.  The colors I used are Balmy Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Soft Suede.  I cut him out using the Layering Circle framelits .  The scalloped circle and sprigs are cut from Garden Green cardstock.

Whisper White

  • cut at 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"

Santa's Workshop Specialty Designer series Paper

  • cut 6 at 1" x 3"

To finish off the snowman I added 3 of the Red Rhinestones to his buttons and added Wink of Stella to his body.

Merry Christmas Monday Week #3

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Spirited Snowmen stamp set #148072, Frost White Shimmer paint #147046, Dazzling Diamonds #133751, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com
I had so much fun making this card!  I used one of my favorite Stampin' Up! stamp sets, Spirited Snowmen.  I know you are all in shock that one of my favorite stamp sets has snowmen in it.  LOL  I made this card for Mr. Wonderful for our 30th anniversary in October.   Can I tell all of you how hard it has been for me to not share this before now!  I knew I wanted to use it in my Merry Christmas Monday series, so I have been patiently waiting until now.

I get so excited when I have a card that I really love and want to share it with everyone.   It has been killing me to keep quiet and if you know me, that is very hard for me to do.  But, I did it!  Yay!

On this card I used a few different techniques.  The first one is masking, which means that you are covering up certain areas of your projects so you can only work on a particular area.  Such as the moon and the snowmen.  For the moon I punched out a 1" circle (keep the paper you punched the circle out of ) and adhered it to the Whisper White paper with repositional tape where I wanted the moon to be.

I stamped the snowmen on the Whisper White paper and also stamped one on a scrap piece of paper.  I cut out the one on the scrap piece of paper and adhered it over the image I stamped on my project piece of  Whisper White paper.  Again, I used the repositional tape to adhere it.  Using this tape made it so much easier to take it off my project.

I then added the blue sky on the Whisper White paper using a combination of Balmy Blue and Night of Navy ink with sponges.   When I was finished I took off the 1" circle and snowmen.  Using the piece that I punched out the 1" circle from I adhered it so that the circles are lined up.  The circle on the paper and the one piece of paper I punched it out of.  I used Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry to create the moon.

Another technique I used was with the White Frost Shimmer Paint.  It is on the snow, snowmen and sporadically on the sky and moon.  On the snow and snowmen I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter after I put on the shimmer paint.  This gave the card a little bit of texture.

I used Stampin Write markers to color the snowmen and Whisper White Craft ink for the snow in the sky.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

We made this card at my advanced card class.  It is not difficult, just time consuming.  He is so worth it!

I went to look this morning at my post that were suppose to be posted while I was at OnStage and realized that my post for Saturday never happened.  I will repost it for all of you on Wednesday.

I am going to be changing my days of posting to Monday, Wednesday and Friday at this time.  I am still working with MailChimp and Typepad to get everything straightened out.  I ran into a friend of mine at OnStage and she is going to help me figure out what is going on.  Hopefully, this will be what I need to get it fixed.  I know you are probably frustrated and I truly appreciate your patience.  I know I am extremely frustrated!

I hope all of you have a terrific week!  I will be posting pictures later this week of my time at OnStage.  It was so fun!  I can't wait for the next one.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Copper Tea Tins #147034, Joyous Noel designer series paper #147816, Merry Merlot and Copper Ribbon #147818, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Merry Christmas Monday!!!  I am so excited to be sharing with you my first project in this series.  It is a fast and easy way to dress up the Copper Tea Tins in the annual catalog.  You only need three products to make this project, Copper Tea Tins, Joyous Noel designer series paper and Copper/Merry Merlot ribbon.

This tin is perfect for tea bags, candy, little note cards or jewelry just to name a few ideas.

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 3 1/8" x 12"

I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue so that I would have a little bit of time to adjust the paper as I wrapped it around the tin.  I made a double loop bow using the Merry Merlot and Copper ribbon and used glue dots to adhere it to the tin.
