Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! The Little Things stamp set #144954, Merry Christmas Monday, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, please go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I hope you have enjoyed my Merry Christmas Monday series.  Today, I have a real cute box that looks like Santa's pants.  You can put little treats inside of it or a small gift.  I made these for our small group from church yesterday, for our Christmas party and they were a big hit!  I saw a box like this created by Twila and tweaked it a little for what I wanted.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Real Red Cardstock #102482

  • cut at 4" x 4 1/2" score all sides at 3/4"  this is the box base
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 11 3/4"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"

Crushed Curry Cardstock #131199

  • cut at 1 1/4" x 1 1/2"

Basic Black Cardstock #121045

  • cut at 3/4" x 11 3/4"
  • cut at 3/4" x 1"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 1 1/4" x 2"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

To make the base of the box you will score at 3/4" on all sides.  On the two shorter sides you will cut up to the score lines.  See the picture below.

TemplateforSantaPantsStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman.jpg

Put adhesive on the back of these flaps and fold in.  This is going to create the little box for the base.

On the long piece of red cardstock put Tear and Tape on the bottom edge and up one side.  Peel off the paper on the tape and adhere to the box, making sure you start with the side that doesn't have adhesive going up the side and the adhesive is on the bottom. Line up the edge of the paper with the bottom of the box and the adhesive towards the bottom.  This will create the side to your box.  When you have it all adhered, take your bone folder and rub it on the inside of the box where the adhesive is from the paper you just attached.   This will make it adhere and stick better.

Add the little white strip to the center of the front of your box.  The put Tear and Tape on the bottom edge of the long strip of black paper.  Adhere it just like you did the red strip making sure the adhesive is at the bottom.  You are going to want to make sure the top of the black strip is even with the top of the box.  This is now Santa's belt.

To make the belt buckle, adhere the small piece of black paper to the center of the Crushed Curry piece of paper, then adhere it to black strip.  On Twila's project she added two black strips (1/2" x 5 1/2") to make suspenders.  I didn't add it to my project because of the size of my goodies in the bag.

For the tag I used the stamp set The Little Things in the Holiday catalog and punched it out with the 2 1/4" circle punch.  The red piece is cut out with a retired 2 1/2" circle punch.  You could use a framelit from the Layering Circle Framelits for your red circle.

I have been trying to use up some of my retired ribbon and got this ribbon out of my stash.

Here is a close up of the tag I created.  I needed something fast to make as I decided at 12:30am I needed to make 20 of these.  LOL

I saw these wood ornaments by Helen Read, and knew I wanted to make them too.  I was able to find the wood pieces on Amazon and they had the holes already drilled in them.  I played with a bunch of stamps and different inks to see what would work with the wood.  I did learn that you can't use the Stampin' Write Markers as they will bleed.  I ended up using Stazon ink, you could use the Archival ink too,  which worked great.

Guess what I used for the berries.  I had read somewhere that you can color our pearls and rhinestones with our new Blends markers.  They turned out so beautiful.  Below are two more pictures so you can see them better.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up Colorful Seasons stamp set #143276, Snowflake Sentiments stamp set #144820, Foil Snowflakes #144642, Year of Cheer DSP #144640, Trim Your Stocking Thinlits #144682, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

What do you think of the purple and gold colors?  I never really think of purple as a color for the holidays, but our theme was Winter Wonderland for the SCS Creative Crew this month.  We were given 4 pictures to get inspiration from and one of them had a purplish tint to it.  It caught my eye right away.  See it below

Winter wonderland 2

Isn't this picture so peaceful, bright, calming and elegant all at the same time.  I could picture myself sitting on a bench sipping coffee or hot chocolate and letting the worries of the day fall away.   This picture got me thinking about how could I make a card, that was a creative fold and with a winter wonderland theme.

The first thing I did was go to my designer series paper and see if anything jumped out at me.  It didn't take me long to find the Year of Cheer DSP with the snowflakes in gold and silver all over it.  I knew then I could really put any color with the paper, but I wanted to tie in the color from the picture.  I found the Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant to be a perfect combination.

I then remembered I had made a double front fold card before and loved it.  If you missed it, click HERE to see it.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper #144640

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 6 1/4 score at 2"

Elegant Eggplant Cardstock #105126

  • cut 2 at 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4 3/4" x 7 1/2" score at 3 3/4"
  • cut 2 at 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"

I stamped a sentiment from the Colorful Seasons stamp set on the smallest piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Wisteria Wonder ink.   Then I stamped a snowflake from the Snowflake Sentiments for the inside of the card and my envelope with Elegant Eggplant ink.

I attached the Wisteria Wonder cardstock to the Year of Cheer DSP , making sure I was close to the fold line, but not too close.  If you put the Wisteria Wonder paper right on the line, the flap of them DSP will not lay nice.  I would try it first before you put your adhesive on it so you know exactly where you want to put it.

You will then attach one of the Elegant Eggplant  pieces on top of the large Wisteria Wonder piece of paper, making sure it is centered.  Attach the white piece of paper with the sentiment on it to this piece.  See the pictures below for a visual of what I am talking about.

You will then put the other piece of Elegant Eggplant paper on the top attaching it to the DSP paper.  REMINDER, only put adhesive on the left hand side of this paper.  Line up your two pieces and then press down.  You want to make sure they are even, they are suppose to look like they are connected.

I embellished the front with the Foil Snowflake and a snowflake cut from the Trim Your Stocking thinlits using the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.   Thank you for stopping by today.

Merry Christmas Monday Week #4

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Seasonal Chums stamp set #144948, The Little Things stamp set #144954, Pizza Boxes #144645, Winter Wonder Embossing Folder #144686, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Week #4 Merry Christmas Monday project was so much fun and turned out just the way I had pictured it in my mind.  A lot of times I have one idea in my head and when I go to put it on paper it turns out totally different.  This time it turned out just the way I imagined it.  I love it!

I have a little bit of everything on this project.  First of all I used the Seasonal Chums stamp set with coordinating Seasonal Tags Framelits, Winter Wonder embossing folder, At Home Framelits, our new Stampin' Blends markers and Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Mini Pizza Boxes #144645

Pool Party Cardstock #122924

  • cut 2 at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 1 3/4" x 3 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 3/4"
  • scrap for the sign

I stamped the front portion of the snowman with the Memento Ink and colored it with the new Stampin' Blends markers.  I used the Smoky Slate, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party markers.  If you look real close you will see where I used the light Pool Party and went around the edges of the snowman.  This softened the look of the snowman and gave him some shading. This stamp set along with the Seasonal Tag Framelits are offered as a bundle, which is a 10% savings if ordered together.  You have to use the bundle item number when adding this product to your order to get the discount.

To make the little sign I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set and cut it out with the little rectangle from the At Home Framelits.  Take your white piece of cardstock and rip it to make the snow.  I then used my Fine -Tip Glue Pen and covered it with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter for the snow to sparkle.  I cut a 1/8" piece from Early Espresso paper for the stick on the sign.

The embossing on the Pool Party cardstock was made using the new Winter Wonder embossing folder.

This is what the inside of the box looks like.  I can't let it go undecorated so,  I used the stamp from the The Little Things stamp set that was made to go with the Mini Pizza boxes.  For the candy inside, I went looking around Target to find something different.  I ended up purchasing the Hershey Bells and they fit perfectly!

Merry Christmas Monday Week #3

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Labels to Love stamp set #144967, Seasonal Chums stamp set #144948, Be Merry DSP #144111, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I have been wanting to do these little cups for a long time.  I was so excited when I saw them on Amazon and ordered them, three months ago.   I put them on them somewhere I wouldn't forget, and guess what, I forgot!  LOL

When I finally found them I was so excited!  I would like to thank Shari Lackey for sharing her beautiful holder for these cups with the directions.

These cups are perfect for a gift card holder too!  You can slip a gift card behind the band and fill the cup up with chocolate.   Perfect gift, chocolate and a gift card!

For both of the cups and holders I used the Be Merry designer series paper in our annual catalog.  For the green holder I used the Labels to Love stamp set and the red one I used the sentiment from the Seasonal Chums stamp set.

You will need the following products to make the holders:

Cherry Cobbler Holder:

Cherry Cobbler Cardstock #119685

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 11"  score at 3/4", 3 1/4", 4" and 6 1/2"
  • cut at 3/4" x 6 1/2"
  • scrap for the 1 1/4" circle

Whisper White Cardstock # 100730

  • cut at 2 3/8" x 3 5/8"
  • cut at 5/8" x 2 3/8"
  • scraps for the 1" and 1 3/8" circles

Be Merry Designer Series Paper #144111

  • cut at 3" x 7 3/4" for the cup
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/2"
  • cut at 1/2" x 2 1/4"

Garden Green Holder:

Garden Green Cardstock #102584

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 11"  score at 3/4", 3 1/4", 4" and 6 1/2"
  • cut at 3/4" x 6 1/2"

Cherry Cobbler Cardstock #119685

  • cut at 2 3/8" x 3 5/8"
  • cut at 5/8" x 2 3/8"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 1 3/4" x 2 3/4"

Be Merry Designer Series Paper #144111

  • cut at 3" x 7 3/4" for the cup
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/2"
  • cut at 1/2" x 2 1/4"

To make the cover for the cup I took apart a cup and made a template on a piece of copy paper.  I then traced around the template on to the back of the paper I wanted to use.  That way the pencil marks were not on the front of the cups.

In the picture below it will show where to score the paper for the holder, use the 2" punch and put the Tear and Tape.  Sometimes, actually a lot of times, it is hard to line up a punch in the center of an area.  So, I have a  little tip for you.  Punch out a circle out of a different color than what you are going to use for your base.  Take that circle and put just a tiny bit of Snail Adhesive on the back of it, and put it where you are wanting to punch out the circle.  Line up the the white circle with the hole in the punch and punch.  You now have your circle perfectly centered.  Yay!!!

Be Merry Designer Series Paper #144111 cut at 3" x 7 3/4" for the cup cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" cut at 1/2" x 2 1/4"

Here is another picture of the holder and cup so you can get a better look at it.

Merry Christmas Monday Week #2

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Seasonal Chums stamp set #144948, Seasonal Tags Framelits #144685, Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder #143708, Scalloped Tag Topper #133324, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I was on Pinterest last week looking for some inspiration for some gift card holders and I came across a card with a tag and holder on the front of it.  I thought it was interesting, because I hadn't seen anything like it before.  I can't remember who designed the card I saw, but thank you for sharing it with everyone.   The first thing I had to do was come up with a template on how to make this and the measurements.  Once I figured that out, I had to come up with a design.

The first one I made, which I forgot to take a picture of, I made for Erica for her birthday.  I had so much fun making it, I thought it would be great to make another one for my Merry Christmas Monday series.  The above picture is the first one I came up with.  Isn't the little reindeer so cute?!  Oh, my goodness, I love him!  He is from the stamp set Seasonal Chums stamp set and has matching framelits, Seasonal Tags. There is also a snowman and a pumpkin in the set too.

I colored him with the new Stampin' Blends markers, can you see the shading on him?  I used the dark and light Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler along with the dark Basic Gray, dark Daffodil Delight and the Bronze markers.  A reminder that when you use the Stampin' Blends markers you have to stamp your images with the Memento Ink.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Crumb Cake Cardstock #120953

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8n 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 3 3/4" x 8 1/4"

Cherry Cobbler Cardstock #119685

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3//8"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x  2 3/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Below are pictures on how to make the tag and holder.

StampinScrapperJoyceWhitman2

You are going to score on the 8 1/4" side at 3 1/2" and then turn your paper to the 3 3/4" side and you will score at 1/2" on each side.  If you look at the second picture you will see how I cut and scored the paper at the same time.  You are going to cut down until you get the to score line (the 3 1/2" line)  and then you are going to score to the end of the paper.  You can see in the picture below what I am talking about.

StampinScrapperJoyceWhitman

After you have done your scoring and cutting, don't forget to angle the 1/2" pieces so they fold nicely.  Refer back to the first picture where you need to cut the flaps at an angle.

StampinScrapperJoyceWhitman6

The next step is to mark the section that you just cut the flaps off of at 1 3/8" (this is the center of this end of your paper).  If you look at the picture you can see where I placed the mark.

StampinScrapperJoyceWhitman3

The paper is going to be wider than the slot on the punch, but you can still use it.  You will need to slide the paper in the punch as it is shown in the picture above. Once you have it in the punch make sure your mark at 1 3/8" is in the center of the punch.  See the photo above to see the mark I made.

StampinScrapperJoyceWhitman4

Next, trim off the little tabs that are still on there.

StampinScrapperJoyceWhitman5

Add a strong adhesive, as shown above, I used the Tear and Tape, and burnish (use a bone folder to make a sharp crease on the score lines) and put it together.  Figure out where you want to put it on your card before adhering it.  With this strong of adhesive it is hard to take it off and move it.

For the background on my card, I used the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder on the Cherry Cobbler piece of paper.  Now, is the fun part, decorate the tag holder as you wish.

Making the tag is super easy.  Take a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and cut it at 2 1/2" x 4 1/2".   I used the Scalloped Tag Topper again, so it will match and you will have to slide it in the same way as the Crumb Cake piece.

With this set, the stamps have a front and back and they are attached.  It is designed that way so you can fold it in half and have a cute little tag all at once.  How awesome is that!  I cut mine apart, so I used the back piece to decorate the inside of the card.  For your envelope you could just stamp the front of the reindeer and color it if you wanted to or you could just leave it uncolored.  Either way, it will be beautiful.

Isn't the back side of this deer just as cute as the front.  He is so stinkin' cute!

Our carpet is finished!!! I love, love, love it!  One of my daycare kids told me it is so squishy.  Compared to our old carpet, that is 18 years old, it is definitely squishy.  LOL  I don't think I have worked that hard physically in a very long time.  It took them four days to finish all of it, but it was so worth it.  I really don't want to move any more furniture for a while.  You don't realize how much stuff you have until you have to move all of it.  Needless to say, there were a lot of trips to drop of things to Goodwill.

Mr. Wonderful went to Michigan over the weekend to spend some time with Erica.  I know that made her very happy to see her daddy.  I love how she still calls us mommy and daddy.  I really wish I could have gone with him.  I haven't seen her since the beginning of September.  This is the longest we have gone without seeing each other.  We are hoping and praying she will be able to come for a few days at Christmas.

Emily comes home late on Friday night (well, really Saturday very early in the morning).  We haven't seen her since July and I can't wait.  It is really hard being this far away from our girls.  We are blessed that she will be able to be home for a week and two weeks at Christmas.

Oh my goodness!  Do not try to type up your blog post when you are very tired.  I have a very busy week this week, so I have been working a lot in my stamping studio this weekend getting prepared for it.  I was working on this blog post late last night and was literally falling asleep while I was typing.  So, I went to bed and finished it this morning.  It is a good thing I went back and reread it.  One section I wrote the same thing three times, three different ways.  Another section I typed what I heard on TV.  It would have been a very interesting and funny blog post if I had posted it.  Note to self, don't work on blog post when you are tired.  LOL

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a blessed week.

Merry Christmas Monday Week #1

Merry Christmas Monday, Stampin' Up! Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Welcome to my Merry Christmas Monday series!  For the next 7 weeks I will be sharing with you a different project made especially for the Christmas season.  I have been having fun already creating for my favorite holiday, Christmas!  I love the crisp air, lights, music, baking, making gifts and spending time with the ones that are dear to me.

My first project that I am going to share with you is also one of my Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew projects.  Our daughters, Emily and Erica were my inspiration for this project.  We had to create a tag  and a box to put them in or attached to a gift.  I actually did both, the box and gift.   I knew I was going to give wine/sparkling cider  this year as gifts to family and friends and to our girls, Emily and Erica.  So, I went on Pinterest and found a really cute wine bottle wrap and went from there.  The tutorial I followed for this is by Frenchie, who is also a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Here is the final project:

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Merry Little Labels #1444795, Foil Snowflakes #144642, Year of Cheer Speciality Designer Series Paper #144640, 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon #144146, 1/8" Ribbon-Gold #134583, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

This is an easy way to dress up the wine or sparkling cider you are taking to dinner at a friend's house or giving as a gift.  Doesn't it look so much nicer than a plain bottle?

I started out writing up the directions on how to make this and thought this would be so much easier with a video.  So, I made a video, edited it and was ready to download it to YouTube.  While I was doing this we had very bad thunderstorms, which my computer did not like.  LOL  However, after a very long time, I got it down loaded and ready for you to see.  I have the video at the end of this post.
