Merry Christmas Monday Week #3

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Spirited Snowmen stamp set #148072, Frost White Shimmer paint #147046, Dazzling Diamonds #133751, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com
I had so much fun making this card!  I used one of my favorite Stampin' Up! stamp sets, Spirited Snowmen.  I know you are all in shock that one of my favorite stamp sets has snowmen in it.  LOL  I made this card for Mr. Wonderful for our 30th anniversary in October.   Can I tell all of you how hard it has been for me to not share this before now!  I knew I wanted to use it in my Merry Christmas Monday series, so I have been patiently waiting until now.

I get so excited when I have a card that I really love and want to share it with everyone.   It has been killing me to keep quiet and if you know me, that is very hard for me to do.  But, I did it!  Yay!

On this card I used a few different techniques.  The first one is masking, which means that you are covering up certain areas of your projects so you can only work on a particular area.  Such as the moon and the snowmen.  For the moon I punched out a 1" circle (keep the paper you punched the circle out of ) and adhered it to the Whisper White paper with repositional tape where I wanted the moon to be.

I stamped the snowmen on the Whisper White paper and also stamped one on a scrap piece of paper.  I cut out the one on the scrap piece of paper and adhered it over the image I stamped on my project piece of  Whisper White paper.  Again, I used the repositional tape to adhere it.  Using this tape made it so much easier to take it off my project.

I then added the blue sky on the Whisper White paper using a combination of Balmy Blue and Night of Navy ink with sponges.   When I was finished I took off the 1" circle and snowmen.  Using the piece that I punched out the 1" circle from I adhered it so that the circles are lined up.  The circle on the paper and the one piece of paper I punched it out of.  I used Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry to create the moon.

Another technique I used was with the White Frost Shimmer Paint.  It is on the snow, snowmen and sporadically on the sky and moon.  On the snow and snowmen I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter after I put on the shimmer paint.  This gave the card a little bit of texture.

I used Stampin Write markers to color the snowmen and Whisper White Craft ink for the snow in the sky.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Today I have a beautiful Christmas card to share with you!  When I saw the Winter Woods bundle in the holiday catalog I was thinking of so many different cards I could make with it.  The tree stamps in this set are so pretty and I love the sentiments.  There is a framelit that cuts out some of the branches for a fun 3D look.

We made this card in one of my Christmas card classes and the ladies really liked them!

First, you run the Smoky Slate cardstock through the Woodland embossing folder.  Then using a dauber and White Craft ink, lightly sponge the ink on the trees.  The piece of white paper is ran through the Softly Falling embossing folder and cut with one of the framelits from the In The Woods framelits.

The snow and trees are popped up using the Stampin Dimensionals.  To finish off the card I added the Metallic Pearls and the Metallic Edge Ribbon.

We made this card at my advanced card class.  It is not difficult, just time consuming.  He is so worth it!

I went to look this morning at my post that were suppose to be posted while I was at OnStage and realized that my post for Saturday never happened.  I will repost it for all of you on Wednesday.

I am going to be changing my days of posting to Monday, Wednesday and Friday at this time.  I am still working with MailChimp and Typepad to get everything straightened out.  I ran into a friend of mine at OnStage and she is going to help me figure out what is going on.  Hopefully, this will be what I need to get it fixed.  I know you are probably frustrated and I truly appreciate your patience.  I know I am extremely frustrated!

I hope all of you have a terrific week!  I will be posting pictures later this week of my time at OnStage.  It was so fun!  I can't wait for the next one.

I had my Christmas Bingo class last weekend and it was so much fun.  At this class we made 4 cards and played some games of bingo for fun.  This is one of the cards that they made.  I used the Merry Christmas to All bundle (you get the stamp set and thinlits at a 10% discount when purchased as a bundle).  I love this stamp set as there are so many possibilities with all the sentiments.

The Swirls and Curls embossing folder is also part of the All Is Bright Suite, which I used on the Whisper White cardstock.   The Merry Merlot glimmer paper is from the Joyous Noel Glimmer paper pack and the designer series paper is from the Festive Farmhouse pack.  I finished off the card with a Clear Epoxy Droplet that are also in the holiday catalog.

One of the products in their goodie bags was a package of the Epoxy Droplets, which they used on 3 of the cards we made.  Here is a picture of the goodie bag.

I was looking through a bin that I have under my craft table with things to use for 3D projects and came across these small cups.  I totally forgot I had them, so I grab them and started creating a project for my Fall Friday series.

I wanted to do a fall theme, not a Halloween and wanted to use something I haven't used in a while.  I have been concentrating on mostly products from the holiday catalog, but it is fun to use things in our annual catalog too.  So, for this project I used the Nature's Poem designer series paper along with the Leaves Trinkets.  The sentiment is from the Takeout Treats stamp set in the holiday catalog.  I guess I used a little bit out of each catalog.

You can fill the little cup with what ever little treats you want to. You can also put a gift card behind the band that wraps around the top.  This would be a cute secret Santa gift, or a thank you gift for someone.  Do you know someone that loves coffee?  How cute would this be with a coffee gift card?  Hmm, that gives me an idea!

Next week will be my last Fall Friday and then on November 5th  I will be starting my Merry Christmas Monday series.  I hope you have enjoyed my series so far.

CoffeeandChatStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman2

I am so excited for tomorrow.  Mark and I had our 30 year wedding anniversary on Monday and we are going to celebrate it.  We are headed to Columbus for the day and then to a Blue Jackets hockey game.  We both enjoy watching hockey, so we are really looking forward to it.  We were going to go out to dinner on Monday to celebrate too, but he had to work all night, or should I say early morning and I ended up getting a stomach virus.  What a great way to spend our anniversary.  LOL  We weren't even in the same bedroom.  I didn't want him to get sick, so I slept on the couch.  I know the romance was just blooming that night.  LOL

Thank you for taking the time to stop in today.  I hope you are have a great weekend!

Happy Stampin!

I know another Snowman card.  What can I say!  I love them!  This card is one of the four we made at my October Christmas card classes.  I have been drawn to the Smoky Slate color lately and thought the new Balmy Blue was a perfect match for a card with snowmen.

I used Stampin' Write markers, so I stamped the snowmen in Stazon ink.  I used Balmy Blue, Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Smoky Slate, and Soft Suede markers to color them.  I added Wink of Stella on the snowmen and on the snow under them.

I used the Swirls and Curls embossing folder on the strip of Smoky Slate cardstock.  I popped up the 3" square using Stampin Dimensionals.  On the inside of the card and on the envelope I stamped snowflakes using the stamp in the Spirited Snowmen stamp set.

On Friday night I had my first of quarterly Advanced Card class.  It was a lot of fun and had great feed back from the ladies taking the class.  Here are a couple of pictures from the night.

They are really concentrating on their cards.   Did you notice the Spirited Snowmen stamp set on the table?  LOL  Yes, we did make a card using the stamp set.

They were working on one of the projects that used either embossing powder or heat tool to set other inks.

I can't wait for the next class.  I already have a list started on techniques I want to teach.

Tomorrow night I am going to have my Christmas bingo.   I have had so much fun working on the Christmas cards we are going to make, wrapping the gifts and decorating my studio.  The daycare kids love the Christmas things I have put out already.  I will take pictures and share them with you next week.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous Thursday!
