December's Happy Planner

This is one one of my favorite stamp sets, Christmas Magic, that I used for these two pages. I also used a new product from the 2017 Occasions catalog. Can you guess what it is? Were you thinking, Watercolor Pencils? I love, love, love, love them. Did I say I love them!

Here is a picture of them close up.

You are going to love the Watercolor Pencils too! You can use them as is, with Blender Pens or Aqua Painters. They are so much fun! I can't wait to play with my new products this week. I am off on vacation until January 2nd so I plan on spending some time in my stampin studio. I am so excited!

Here are some other pictures of the planner that I did for December.

On these two pages I used the Embellished Ornaments stamp set with Old Olive and Real Red Ink.

Can I share a little secret with you? Did you noticed that there is only part of the week in the picture above? Well, I was trying something new, and guess what? It didn't work! LOL I am not going to show you how bad it turned out. I look at it and say to myself, "What were you trying to do?" It just isn't pretty.

Emily loves to decorate her planner too, so we are going to work on ours together while she is home. I know she will have great ideas as she is a wonderful artist. Emily also has beautiful handwriting, so I may have to have her write on some of my pages.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Were you on Santa's nice list? I sure was! My family definitely spoiled me! I have to say I spoiled them too.

Ornament Christmas Card

This is such a stunning card and so beautiful, I just wish I could get that through on the picture. We made this card at one of my Christmas Card classes. It was one of the favorites.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Whisper White Thick Card Stock #140272

cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Night of Navy Card Stock #100867

cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

cut at 3" x 3"

When you do embossing you will want to use your Embossing Buddy to get all the static off your paper. If you don't, you will get little bits of embossing powder where you don't want them. After embossing I cut out the design with the Delicate Ornament Thinlits. I used a sponge and Night of Navy ink for around the edges.

On the Night of Navy card stock I embossed it with the Pine Bough Textured Embossing Folder. I took the Wink of Stella - Clear and put it on the raised part. I popped up the ornament with dimensionals and added silver ribbon and a bow.

Life has been a little crazy for me this last couple of days. On Monday morning I got really sharp pains in my back that lasted about an hour and then passed. It happened again later that night, but this time for 3 hours. The pain was so bad, it was worst than having a ten pound baby with no pain killers. I went to the doctor yesterday and I have a kidney infection and a kidney stone. I am so thankful for medicine.

On top of that I have a bad cold and cough. Really, it is the week before Christmas. It never fails, I always get sick right before Christmas.

I will try to post more this week, I had some great things I wanted to share with you, but if you don't see a post that is why.

Merry Christmas Monday Week #7

My final Merry Christmas Monday project. I had a lot of fun designing projects to share with you for this beautiful holiday season. This week I made a Gift Card Holder using the Father Christmas Stamp Set. This holder looks like it was difficult to make, but in reality it is easy. It is such a beautiful gift card holder, I love it!

To make this project you will need the following products:

Crumb Cake Card Stock # 120953

cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 2 1/2" and 5 1/2"
cut at 3 1/2" x 9" score at 4 1/2"
scrap for 1 1/2" circle

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

cut 2 at 3 1/4" x 4 1/4"
cut at 2 1/2" x 4"
scrap for 1 4/" circle

Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper # 141981

cut at 2 1/2" x 4"
cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/4"

Here is a picture of what it looks like partially opened. For this picture I pulled down the bottom part of the holder. Here is a picture of it opened all the way.

Here are the steps to make this holder:

Stamp all you images on your Whisper White Card Stock using Crumb Cake (for a softer look) or Soft Suede (for a more bold look).
Use Crumb Cake ink and sponge around all the edges (make sure you do all edges that fold)
Adhere your stamped pieces to the appropriate Crumb Cake card stock
Using the 2" circle punch, punch out half of circle on the biggest piece of Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper
Adhere the Designer Series Paper
Fold your holder so that Santa is on the top of the bottom fold. Put a dimensional so that it is just below the flap with Santa on it. You want to be able to still open up this flap.
Then adhere the circles so that the bottom are even with the bottom of the card holder

The Santa will fit right under the circles. Isn't it the best gift card holder?! Whoever you give it to, they will love it!

This weekend I have been busy baking. I make goodies bags for all of the daycare families and for Mr. Wonderful's work. I made 13 different goodies. My house still smells so good!

They are finished!!!!

You probably have noticed that I have been a little busy the last week or so; there was a reason. Robin and I finished an order last night for 195 of the 5 Nugget Holders. We were so excited!

You don't realize how much work goes into something like this until you have to make multiples of it. We punched the Decorative Label Punch 585 times, scored paper a total of 2,340 times, used our trimmers I can't even figure that one out LOL, and cut with scissors over 3,000 times (I got a blister from those cuts). Once we had them all cut, scored, stamped, punched and Designer Series Paper put on it was time to assemble them. That part went a lot faster than I thought it would.

I even had the daycare kids helping us with this project. They had so much fun putting the nuggets into the boxes for us. I love watching them work on project and how their little minds work.

Merry Christmas Monday Week #6 - Hot Chocolate Cup

Merry Christmas Monday!!! It is suppose to be very cold here in Ohio this week and I know I will need something to drink to keep me warm. Nothing warms me up like a good cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows. I also like being wrapped up in a nice comfy blanket with the fireplace on. Ahh I can picture it now.

This is an easy project and a great one to hand out to your coworkers, friends, hair stylist, teachers, actually anyone you run into. You know what I was just thinking. This would also be a great little gift for in January when the holiday season is over and everyone is kinda blah. What a great pick me up! I am going to have to remember that!

To make this project you will need the following supplies:

Marina Mist Card Stock #119682

cut at 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
cut at 1 1/4" x 3 1/3"

Real Red Card Stock #102482

cut at 2" x 3"

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

scraps for penguin, scarf, earmuffs and snowman

I have pictures below that will show you all the steps.

Place the square framelit from the Layering Square Framelits as shown in the picture below

Now is when I stamped the handle and the outside of the packet. I used the snowflakes from the Snow Place stamp set with Whisper White Craft Ink. Adhere your handles first making sure it is centered. Place tape on the outside edges of side without the cutout on it. Make sure you don't go all the way to the top or you will see your adhesive.

You can now fold over the right side onto the left and your project is now complete. Add your favorite hot chocolate and you are ready to go! To give it a little sparkle I added Wink of Stella to the snowflakes and the snowman.

Christmas Magic Shaker Card

I have been wanting to do a shaker card for a while now, but thought it would be difficult. It really isn't at all! They take a little more time, but it was not difficult. We made this one at my last Christmas Card Class and all the ladies loved it. They too had been wanting to do a shaker card.

To make this card you are going to need the following products:

Crumb Cake Card Stock # 120953

cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White Card Stock # 100730

cut at 3 1/4" x 3" for the snowman
cut at 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
scraps for bow and lid

Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series Paper #142037

cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Window Sheets #142314

cut at 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"

I have a couple of tips for you when you make this card. On the white piece of paper stamp your sentiment first and then the cut out the jar using the Everyday Jar Framelits. You are going to stamp the jar, the largest one, from the Jar of Love stamp set right onto the window sheet.

When using Window Sheets make sure you use Stazon Ink when you stamp. All other ink will possibly smear and not dry totally. Also, your stamps can slide easily when you are using the window sheets so you will want to be careful to keep it straight.

I stamped my snowman on the little piece of white paper and then poured the Mica Flakes onto of the snowman. I put enough to cover him.

I assembled the card in this order:

adhere the stamped window sheet to the white card stock
put the Foam Adhesive Stripes around the jar on the window sheet, making sure there are no gaps. This is what is going to keep the flakes in and you will want to put your bottom piece across the jar lid. The lid will hide it and you want to do this so the Mica Flakes don't fall down too far. You want to be able to see them when the card is standing up.
lay the snowman stamped and colored on your table, pour the Mica Flakes on him and then adhere the paper from above on it. This way you can see exactly where you want to adhere so you can see the snowman.
I added the Foam Adhesive Stripes around the edges and adhered it to the Candy Cane Christmas DSP (Designer Series Paper). That way it is all the same height.

Now that I know how to make shaker cards, I am going to be making a lot of them. They are so fun!

Merry Christmas Monday Week #5 - Lindt Chocolate Holders

Have you seen the adorable little snowman and teddy bear chocolates from Lindt? Oh my goodness! When I saw them in the store I knew I had to come up with some type of holder for them and give them away as little gifts. This is what they look like in the package (not sure why my picture is sideways).

I got my idea for this holder from another Merry Christmas Monday that I did for the lip balm. If you missed it you can view it HERE

You will need the following products to make this holder.

Cherry Cobbler Card Stock #119685

cut at 2" x 11" score at 3/4", 2 1/4", 4 1/2", 7" and 8 1/2"

Garden Green Card Stock #102584

cut at 2" x 2"

Very Vanilla Card stock #101650

cut at 2" x 2"

This Christmas Designer Series Paper #141628/ Warmth and Cheer Designer Series Paper #141991

cut at 2" x 4" score @ 1 1/2

Between the 3/4" and the 2 1/4" score lines I punched a circle using the 1 1/4" punch. You will fold up the paper to make the box. Here is a picture of the side so you can see how to fold it.

This is what they look like opened.

Your friends and family would love to open one of these and find a cute little snowman or bear. These would be perfect to give to anyone you want to say Merry Christmas to.

Hi! I am suppose to talk about myself here, but I really don't like to do that. However, I can talk to you about my family, friends, stamping, scrapbooking, crafts in general, my daycare business and Disney all day long. My family, Mark, my husband, and our 2 beautiful daughters, Emily and Erica are the best blessings God has given me. When we moved to Ohio in 1988 I opened my daycare called Joycie's Little Angels Daycare and have loved all the children that have come into my home. My friends are the best! They are there for me in all times, good and bad and I cherish each and everyone of them. In 2000 when we went to Disney for the first time we all fell in love! I knew I had to document all the wonderful memories we made. My love for scrapbooking (and a dear friend) led me to stamping. Oh my goodness, I had so much fun! I loved how fast you can make beautiful projects and all the different techniques. I knew I had to get involved with Stampin' Up! as their products are my favorite. I hope my creations give you inspiration to show your creative side.
