Fall Friday 2021 Week #8 - Non Stampin' Up! Projects

Fall Friday

This week I am doing something totally different for my Fall Friday series. I have had so much fun creating projects for all of you using Stampin' Up! products. This week though, I am going to share with you projects I have made for fall that I have made with other products.

Myself, along with my friends, Diana and Kim, have been busy creating projects for the fall season. The first project we made were Mr. and Mrs. Scarecrow.

I love how they are so different even though we made them all at the same time.

All of us have seen signs like this at different times and said how we wanted to make one. We finally did! There were a lot of laughs and jokes making this adorable sign.

We are now working on a snowman project. Yay! I love snowman. I will share with you when I have it finished. It might take me a little while though, as I can't find what I want to finish it.

Thank you for joining me for my Fall Friday series this year. I hope you have enjoyed the projects that I have created. If you have missed any of them, you can see them by clicking on the list below.

Fall Friday 2021 Week 7 - Celebrate Sunflowers

This week for my Fall Friday project, I have a card that I made using two different techniques. The first technique I used was the spotlight technique. For this technique you only color the stamped image that is on the top piece of the white cardstock.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set. spotlight technique, masking technique, Stampin Blends, Sunflowers dies, Fall Friday 2021 Week #7, created by Stampin Scrapper. For more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce WhitmanTo do this technique, you first put the small piece of white cardstock on top of the larger piece using repositionable tape (or you can use Stampin' Seal and rub it on your pants a couple of times so it picks up the lint from them so it is less sticky). I then used Memento ink to stamp the images and colored them in using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede Stampin' Blends. You can see around the edges that the images didn't stamp perfectly and that is alright. I will be adding a piece of black cardstock as a mat to the small piece of white cardstock that will cover it up.

The second technique I used was the masking technique. I needed to use this technique so I could add the leaves to my sunflowers. The first thing you need to do is cut out the shape of the image you need to cover up. I was so happy when I realized that in the Sunflowers dies, there was a die that cut perfectly around the sunflower. You need to use copy paper to cut out the image as cardstock is too thick and that will cause you not to get a nice image around the edges.

You will want to use the repositionable tape again, so you can remove the cutout when you are done stamping. I colored the leaves using the Old Olive Stampin' Blends.

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have a fantastic Friday and weekend.

Fall Friday 2021 Week #5 - Love Of Leaves Card

It's Friday! So, you know what that means. Time for my Fall Friday project! This week's project is a card that I made with the Love of Leaves stamp set from the annual catalog. I was looking for another stamp set, when I saw this stamp set on my shelf and realized that I had totally forgotten about it. Have you done that too?

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Fall Friday, Fall Friday 2021 Week #5, Love of Leaves stamp set, Stitched Leaves dies, thumbing technique, fall, friendship, created by Stampin Scrapper. For more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

One of the ways I like to get inspiration for my projects is to look out my craft room window. This time I noticed that the leaves are just starting to change colors. That made me think of the colors in the trees, when all the leaves are full color. They are so pretty. I love how God gives us such beautiful colors in the fall. It is one of the reasons that fall is my favorite season.

I had so many different colors on my desk, but finally, I ended up narrowing it down to the colors above. Do they remind you of fall?

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Fall Friday, Fall Friday 2021 Week #5, Love of Leaves stamp set, Stitched Leaves dies, thumbing technique, fall, friendship, created by Stampin Scrapper. For more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I used a technique I hadn't used in a very long time, the thumping technique. You can do this technique two ways. On both of them you start with putting ink on your stamp, I used either Crushed Curry or Pumpkin Pie, and then you add color to it. You can use a Stampin' Write marker or a dauber to do this technique. You  tap (thump) the marker or dauber, with ink on it, on to the stamp with different colors. This is going to give you a variety of colors when you stamp your image. One tip I have for you is before you stamp your image, make sure you huff on it. You need to make sure that all of the ink is moist to get a nice image. This time I used a dauber as I wanted to have the textured look of real leaves.

One thing that I love about the dies, Stitched Leaves, is that on the leaves you can cut them out, only emboss them or do both. On the leaves that are stamped directly on the Basic White cardstock I just embossed them. On the two leaves that I stamped and the copper leaf, I cut and embossed them at the same time. I love the look of just the embossing on the stamped leaves.

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink and added a triple bow that I made with Linen Thread.

Are the leaves changing in your area yet? I can't wait until they are at their peak of color here in Ohio.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Sending everyone lots of love and hugs.

Welcome to my Fall Friday series! I haven't scrapbooked in a while, so I thought this would be a perfect time to make a scrapbook page. I used the adorable Frightfully Cute bundle and Cute Halloween designer series paper from the Stampin' Up! holiday catalog. I love how it turned out!

I was playing around with the 6" x 6" pieces of designer series paper and came up with the idea of using different pieces to form a square. I cut each of the 6" x 6" pieces into 4 triangles. I then mixed them up and laid them out on 1/2 of each of the 12" x 12" white cardstock.

Welcome to my Fall Friday series!  Every Friday until October 29th I will be sharing with you different projects featuring Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving projects. For my first project I am sharing with you the Stampin' Up! Tombstone Treat boxes from the holiday catalog.

While I was out shopping (I know all of you are surprised by that LOL), I found these peanut butter cups in the shape of pumpkins, bats and ghosts. Three of them fit in the box perfectly. Yay! I wanted to decorate my box using the same three shapes and the Cute Halloween Suite in the holiday catalog is perfect for them.

I used the Cutest Halloween stamp set for the sentiment and stamped it using Highland Heather ink. I then used the Tailored Made tags to cut it out. The coordinating Halloween punch was perfect to punch out the ghost and pumpkin from the adorable Cute Halloween designer series paper. I fussy cut the bat out of the same paper. I love how Stampin' Up! has been having their punches and dies fit the images on their designer series paper.

The fence is from the Frightful Tags dies (I cut two of them out) using Basic Black cardstock. There is Black and White Gingham ribbon in this suite, but I have been using it a lot lately, so I decided to use the Metallic Mesh ribbon in the annual catalog.

Fall Friday 2020 Week #7 - Mini Coffee Cup Carrier

I have been wanting to play with the Stampin' Up! Mini Coffee Cups and Carrier since I saw them in the holiday catalog.  I finally got around to it for this weeks Fall Friday project. I love how this project turned out!  You can use it for Fall or for Halloween.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Fall Friday 2020, Banner Year stamp set, Warm Hugs stamp set, Mini Coffee Cups, Mini Coffee Carrier, Warm Wraps dies, Layering Circle Dies, created by Stampin Scrapper. For more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com. I used the Banner Year stamp set for the pumpkins on the cups and the Warm Hugs for the sentiments on them.  Both of the were stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink and the stems of the pumpkins were stamped with the Garden Green ink.

In this picture I want to let you know that I put 2 round embellishment containers under each of the cups.  I wanted to show you how the cups looked next to the carrier.  Here is a picture of them in there without the embellishment containers.

Here is a side view of the carrier.  You will see in the measurements below that I cut my Plaid Tidings designer series paper and Pumpkin Pie cardstock at 3" and 6".  They are too long for the carrier, but I did that on purpose.  I didn't want to have to deal with trying to figure out 1/16" of the paper.  It was easier and I think it looks better.  I am all for making things easier to make.

For more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com. Here is a close up of what the stamped images look like on the band that goes around the cups.  They were pretty easy to make.  You need to be patient if you are going to cover the cups.  To get a template, I took a cup apart and traced it and cut it out.  I then traced the cut out piece on my cardstock.  I used the liquid glue to adhere it, so I had a little bit of time to move it around and make sure it was straight.  The sentiments are popped up with dimensionals.

Fall Friday 2020 Week #6 Latte Holder

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Warm Hugs stamp set, Story Label punch, Gilded Autumn specialty designer series paper, Latte holder, Starbucks, created by Stampin Scrapper. For more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3d projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce WhitmanWelcome to Fall Friday 2020 Week #6!  Can you believe it is week 6 already?  I hope you are enjoying my projects so far.  This week I have an easy and fast Latte holder for you.  I made these for each of the attendees at my Holiday Extravaganza.  They were a hit with everyone.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Warm Hugs stamp set, Story Label punch, Gilded Autumn specialty designer series paper, Latte holder, Starbucks, created by Stampin Scrapper. For more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3d projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce WhitmanI used the Warm Hugs stamp set from the Stampin' Up! holiday catalog for the sentiment on this project.   It was perfect!  I got the Starbucks's latte packets from Amazon, but you can find them in stores.  I punched out the sentiment with a 1 3/8" circle punch (retired), since it fit perfect with the Story Label punch.  You could easily use one of the circles from the Layering Circle dies.

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Cajun Craze

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 11" score at 7 1/4" and 7 3/4"

Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Mini Macaron

  • scraps for leaves and acorn

Very Vanilla

  • scrap for 1 3/8" circle (retired)

Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 3 1/2" x 4"

For more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3d projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce WhitmanTo make the hole for the latte packet to slide in, you can use any punch you have.  I used the Story Label punch from the annual catalog.  Slide the end of the cardstock that has the smallest section all the way into the punch.  Center it from on each side and punch.

I have a couple of tips for you:

  • Do not throw away the piece you punch out, as you will use it at the top for the sentiment
  • Put dimensionals at the very top of the holder to adhere your sentiment.  You want to make sure there is a space to put the latte under to hold it
  • Use a strong adhesive, Tear and Tape or Stampin' Seal+ to adhere the bottom section to the main section

I finished decorating the latte holder with punching out the two leaves and the acorn from the Autumn Punch Pack.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by.  Have a great day and weekend.
