Fall Friday Week #9 Final Project

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! shadow box, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I finally made my fall shadow box!  I have been wanting to make one of these for the last couple of years, but time just kept getting away from me.  I took a day or two and worked on just this and it was so much fun!  I haven't just played in my craft room for a long time and it was so nice.  I am usually crafting with a purpose, which I truly enjoy, and with this I just started making little squares to see what could I come up with.

I used a lot of current product, but also some retired stamp sets.  The acorns in the upper left hand corner are colored with the new Stampin' Blends markers that will be available on November 1st.  All the printed paper paper is from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper in the holiday catalog.

Every time I look at this I pick a different square that is my favorite.  Which one is yours?

Last December I shared with you the other two shadow boxes I had made for the Christmas season.   Here they are again, so you can see them all together.

It is so funny to go back and look at how I edited the photos and my old watermark.  Nothing like going right up to the edge of the projects.  LOL

Thank you for stopping by every Friday to check out my Fall Friday series.  I have had so much creating projects to share with all of you.  It means so much to me that you would take time out of your day to stop by.

On Monday, November 6th I will begin my Merry Christmas Monday series.

Have a great weekend!

Fall Friday 2017 Week #8

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Spooky Fun stamp set #144749, Painted Harvest stamp set #144783, Mini Pizza Boxes #144645, Everyday Label Punch #144668, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I can't believe it is week #8 already of my Fall Friday Series.  I have had so much fun creating projects to share with all of you.  Make sure you check back next week for the final project.  I have been wanting to make one of these for the last couple of years and finally made it. I can't wait to share it with you.

This week I decorated the pizza boxes that are in the holiday catalog. I haven't really played with them until this week and I am not sure what took me so long.  They are so stinkin' cute! For this project I decorated one as a halloween box with chocolate in it and the other one is more fall with eight 3 x 3 note cards and envelopes.  Stampin' Up! brought back the 3 x 3 envelopes, which I am so happy about.

Did you notice on the box with the sunflowers on it, that I stamped right on the box!  It was so easy as the boxes come flat and then you fold them as you want to use them.  With them coming flat it is great for storing them.  You know what else is great?  They are food safe! So, you can put any homemade little treat inside the box and your food will be save.

To make the Halloween box you will need the following products:

Basic Black Cardstock #121045

  • cut 2 at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Pumpkin Pie Cardstock #105117

  • cut at 3 1/8"x 3 1/8"
  • cut 4 at 7/8" x 3 3/8"
  • cut at 3" x 4" to punch out two labels

Spooky Night Designer Series Paper #144610

  • cut 2 at 3 x 3" one for the top and one for the inside
  • cut 4 at 3/4" x 3 1/4"

Whisper  White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 2 x 3"

The pumpkins on the front are from a piece of the Spooky Night designer series paper and I fussy cut them out.

The tag is from the Spooky Cat stamp set and punched out with the Everyday Label Punch from the Holiday catalog.  Below is a picture of how I did the orange pieces behind the tag.  I finished the tag off with the new Black Rhinestone Jewels that are also in the Holiday catalog.  I sure hope they carry these over to the annual catalog next year.  The tag and pumpkins are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals and everything else is adhered with the Snail Adhesive.

To make the Painted Harvest box you will need the following products:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock #140272

  • cut 8 at 3" x 6" score at 3"

Cajun Craze Cardstock #119684

  • cut 8 at 2 7/8" x 2 7/8"
  • cut at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Soft Suede Cardstock #115318

  • cut at 1" x 11"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 8 at 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
  • cut at 3 1/8" x 3 1/8"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 8 1/2" this is for the flower and leaves on the front band

To give the flower on the band a little bit of sparkle I used Wink of Stella on it and the leaves.  I used Fast Fuse to adhere the band together and the flower and leaves on the band.  I wanted to make sure they stayed together as the band will be taken off and on.

Here are some more pictures of the projects

It has been a wonderful week for me this week!  To start with on Tuesday I was promoted to Silver Elite with Stampin' Up!  I have been working really hard to get the promotion and I still can't believe I did it.  I was so happy I was crying and Mr. Wonderful asked why do women do that, cry when they are happy.  I told him that it was because that is the way God made us.  Now, I will be the first to admit, I cry at everything and I mean everything!

Then on Wednesday night I had my first team meeting.  I would not have been promoted without these wonderful ladies.  I can't thank them enough and am so blessed to have each and everyone of them on my team, but more importantly as my friend.  They mean the world to me!

I will admit I was so nervous about the meeting, I wanted everything to be perfect for them.  It went perfect and was so much fun!  We already have our next two meetings planned and  I can't wait!

Last Saturday was our 29th wedding anniversary, but it didn't work out for us to celebrate last weekend.   We are going to spend the day together and finish it off with going to a hockey game in Columbus. We both love to watch hockey, so I am really looking forward to it.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

stampin up, Stampin" Up! Sweet Home Stamp Set #140936, Labels To Love Stamp Set #144967, Spooky Cat Stamp Set #144749, Home Sweet Home Thinlits #140279, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Look how cute this Halloween layout turned out!  Every quarter I have my Scrap Along class where we make 3 two page scrapbook layouts with different themes.  Our themes at my class last Saturday were Halloween, Fall and Thanksgiving.  I always have so much fun creating pages for these classes.

To make this layout I used three different stamp sets, Sweet Home from the annual catalog and Labels to Love and Spooky Cat from the 2017 Holiday catalog.  All the products I used on these two pages are in the current catalogs (annual and holiday), except the paper I used to make the house.  The paper was in the 2016 Holiday catalog called Halloween Night Speciality Designer Series Paper.  You could use Smoky Slate paper and if you wanted our Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  Do you see the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape on the bottom of each page? How many ghost do you see peeking around the corners?

To make this page you will need the following products:

Pumpkin Pie 12 x 12 Cardstock #145483

  • you will need 2 sheets

Basic Black Cardstock #121045

  • cut 6 of 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"
  • scraps for the bats (7), door, window, cats, oval and 2 punches from Pretty Label Punch

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #1119683

  • scraps for the windows

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • scraps for the ghost (3), Happy Halloween, Trick or Treat and the label on the bottom right hand corner

Did you notice the roof on the house?  It is not a piece of paper, it is a stamp!  For this part I laid my house where I wanted it to go and then I stamped my roof.  It is much easier to stamp the roof first then adhere the house.  The house, window, ghost, and bats are cut out using the Home Sweet Home Thinlits.

The cats were punched out using the Cat Punch that coordinates with the Spooky Cat stamp set and the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.  If you buy the stamp set and punch as a bundle, you can get it at a savings of 10% off!

For the sentiment on the house and the top right hand corner I used the Spooky Cat stamp set.  The sentiment by the cats came from the Label to Love stamp set and I used the coordinating punch, Everyday Label.  To get the black layer behind the label, you are going to punch out 2 black pieces.  One piece you are going to cut it in half horizontally and the other one have vertically.  On the piece you cut horizontally you will also trim off the edges.  Adhere these pieces to the stamped image and you have made a background label for the white label.  See picture below.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Everyday Label Punch #144668, 2017 Holiday Catalog, Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I adhered everything with snail adhesive, except the ghost by the house and both sentiments on the right hand page.  For those I used Stampin Dimensionals to give them some dimension on the page.

Here are some additional pictures.

Now that we have the kitchen finished we are working on finishing the upstairs.  We are going through everything as if we are moving, which we are not, and Mr. Wonderful is painting the closets as we empty them.  He only has two more to go, but one of them is the master walk in closet.  Yep, that one is going to take us awhile to go through.  We have new carpet coming in a few weeks and we have to get rid of a lot of things so we don't have so much to move. Thankfully they are going to break it down into 3 days so that will be a big help.

I am very thankful that all of this will be done before Thanksgiving and before when Emily comes home.  We are sad though because Erica will not be able to come home for Thanksgiving this year and we are not sure about Christmas.  This will be the first time in 22 years that all four of us will not be together.  I know our kids are suppose to grow up and go out on their own, but do they have to move so far away?

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

What can I say, I love the Merry Cafe stamp set!  Our theme this month for SplitcoastStampers Creative Crew was comfy and cozy. What gives you more of a feel of comfort and cozines than something pumpkin spice.  I love, love, love anything pumpkin spice. I drink it all year round, not just in the fall.

One of the projects we do each month for creative crew is a simple card and then do a stepped up version.  The above card is my stepped up version of the card below.

UPDATE ON WORLD CARD MAKING DAY SALE!!!

The fast fuse promotion has been so successful that they have had to discontinue it.  Stampin' Up!  never thought it would be so popular, that they have run out of the fast fuse and refills.  The good news is that it will be offered again for five days in a few months.   As soon as I know more about it, I will let you know.

Why is it when you have a week where you have a lot going on, you get sick?  I have 3 classes this week and on Monday night my body did not like something I ate.  Yuk!  I am pretty sure I figured out what made me sick - cookies I ate from a festival.  I won't be doing that again.  My sweet ladies were so kind to reschedule their class for the next night for me. They are the best!

I was doing much better on Wednesday and was able to work and take care of my little ones and have my rescheduled class that night. We had a great time.

You know what warms my heart?  When I talk to my daughter and we can have deep meaningful conversations about how important prayer is in our lives.  Every day, not just on Sunday's.  We have to read God's word and live His word.  I had a situation I was dealing with on Wednesday evening and God's hand was in every word that was spoken. God is so good!

Thank you for stopping by to see my Fall Friday project!

Fall Friday 2017 Week #5

StampinUpPaintedHarvestLableMePrettyStampSetsFallFridayWeek5StampinScrapperJoyceWhitman

When I saw the projects that Stacey Krats made I feel in love with them for a couple of reasons.  The first reason is her projects are adorable!  Second, I have never heard of Hershey Carmel Apple filled milk chocolate and they are shaped like apples.  Oh, my goodness! They are out of this world!  If you haven't tried them, you must.  You won't be disappointed.  I immediately contacted Stacey and asked her if I could case (create and share everything) her projects for my Fall Friday series.  She was so gracious and said, "sure".  Wasn't that so sweet of her.  I have changed them up a little bit to put my touch on them.

The sentiment on the project on the right came from the Label Me Pretty stamp set.  On the project on the right I used the stamp set Painted Harvest and used the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.  Do you see the leaves on the top of the right hand project?  I made those with the leaf punch that coordinates with the Painted Autumn Suite.  The banner was punched with the Triple Banner Punch.

For the paper on the project on the right you will need a piece 3 3/4" x 7 3/4" score at 5 1/2"

I thought these apples were perfect for this week as I am going to an apple festival tomorrow with a good friend of mine.  Do you like festivals?  I love them!

Have a great Friday and weekend!

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Spooky Cat stamp set #144749, Cat Punch #144666, Spooky Night DSP #144610, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

This weeks project is perfect if you need a quick little treat for someone.  I used the Carmel Apple Pops for inside of them.  All of my attendees at my Stamp Camp classes this week received these. A couple of my ladies loved the black cat so much they ordered it right away.  Guess what? You can get the stamp set and punch as a bundle and save 10%!

To make this project you will need the following products:

Basic Black Cardstock #121045

  • cut at 2" x 2 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 1 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Spooky Night Designers Series Paper #144610

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 6 1/4" score at 3" and 3 1/4"

Fold and burnish (go over your score lines with a bone folder) your score lines, but be gentle as this is designer series paper, so it is a little thinner than our normal cardstock.  For the hold for the stick of the candy, I used our 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch.  I centered it between the two score lines.

The sentiment is stamped with Tangerine Tango in and punched out with the Classic Label Punch.  I used snail adhesive to put on the cat and the sentiment.  I then put 3 glue dots on the top edge of the paper, put the candy inside and adhered the two ends together.

I made 15 of them in about 15-20 minutes.  These are very easy and fast to make if you need a lot of them.

On Wednesday night Mr. Wonderful and I took out the old countertops and sink.  We weren't sure how long this would take or how hard it will be as we have never done anything like this before. Oh my goodness!! I don't know how my countertops stayed on!  My island was only attached with two screws, the section with the sink, two screws, but the little piece between my stove and refrigerator, it had 3 screws.  It was a lot easier than we thought it would be.

What a crazy busy day we had yesterday though.  Early in the morning, I was hoping to sleep in, we had the plumber here to do some work for us in our upstairs bathroom.  Then about an hour later we had the carpet guy here to measure our upstairs as we are replacing all of the carpet on that level.  When that is finished we are done with the upstairs! Yay!!!

As soon as he leaves, we run out to get some lunch and just as we get our food, we get a phone call that the installers for our countertops are on their way. So much for lunch. It didn't take them too long to install them.  I love them!!!!

We had about an hour break and then plumber came to hook everything up.  It seemed like he took forever, even though I know he didn't.  I wanted to get in there and clean up my kitchen and get everything put back where it belonged.  Here are some pictures of our adventure.

PicMonkey Collage

The picture on the left is from yesterday morning, before they got here and the one on the right is with the new countertops in.  They are so pretty.  I had to wait 4 hours before I could put anything on them and make sure I washed them down a couple of times to get all the dust off of them.

Here are the final pictures of my new kitchen.

Fall Friday 2017 Week #3

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Sheltering Tree #137163, Tabs for Everything #143907, Large Letters Framelits #141712, Classic Label Punch #141491, created and designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I have been seeing cards with the Eclipse technique everywhere, so I thought I would try and make one myself.  I wasn't sure at first if this was going to be difficult or easy to make.  I am happy to say that they are very easy to make.  You can do so much with this technique and for so many different occasions.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Chocolate Chip Cardstock #102128

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

The first thing I did to make this card was stamp three trees from the Sheltering Tree stamp set using the Chocolate Chip ink.  I then stamped the leaves of the tree with Crushed Curry ink.  The second time I stamped the leaves, they had the colors of Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie.  I used sponge daubers and dabbed the three colors in various places on the leaves.  I then stamped them on top of the Crushed Curry leaves.  I did, however, move the stamp either a little to the left, up or down.  You don't want to stamp it right on top of where you stamped them in Crushed Curry.

When you have everything stamped you will want to draw a faint line with a pencil (you can see my line in the above picture as I forgot to erase it, Oops).  I put mine at 3/4" from the top of the paper. I lined up the letters from the Large Letter Framelits with the top of them on the line I drew.  You want to make sure when you run your paper with the framelits through the big shot that they don't move.  You can use post it notes, post it note tape or washi tape to hold the framelits in place if needed.

I have a little tip for you when you are lining up your letters.  When I was trying to figure out where to put the letters I realized I only had one "L".  Well, that wasn't going to work, so what do I do.  I took my "L" and measured it against the other letters and found out that the "E" was the same size.  So, I put the F,A, L and E on my card and then right before I ran it through the big shot I took off the "E".  I then ran it through a second time with just the "L".  Don't throw away the center piece of the letter "A" you will need it.

To make the letters higher than the stamped paper you will want to use the Foam Adhesive Strips.  They fit the letters perfectly.  The center piece of the "A" is not popped up, it is adhered to the stamped paper.

Here is another picture so you can see it at an angle.

So, what do you think of this technique?  I would love to see your creations with this technique!

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Fall Friday 2017 Week #2

ColorfulStampin'Up!SeasonsStampSetandSeasonalLayersThinlits2017AnnualCatalogStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman

When I am making projects, I try to make them so I can use them for a dual purpose.  If I am making a birthday card for a friend or family member or cards we made in my classes, I share it with you on my blog.  This project is doing the same thing.  I created it for the SCS Creative Crew and thought this would also be perfect for my Fall Friday series.   I am in love with the Painted Autumn paper so much that I don't want to use any other dsp.  They are all beautiful, but there is something about this paper I just love.

You will need the following supplies to make the project:

Early Espresso Cardstock #119686

  • cut at 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"

Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper #144613

  • cut at 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut at 3/4" x 2 1/2"

Gold Foil Paper #132622

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

You will also need the following cardstock colors:

     Cajun Craze #119684

    Crushed Curry #131199

    Old Olive #100702

    Tangerine Tango #111349

The squares are 1 1/2" and then I used scraps for the leaves.  The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the Classic Label Punch.  I used the 3/8" Mini Chevron ribbon in Old Olive.

I really like making the shadow boxes and have made a couple of them before.  For complete directions on how to make the shadow box, please click HERE.

This weekend we are in Michigan, taking the rest of Erica's stuff up to her.  We are going to do all the fun things like insurance, license plates and a new driver's license.  Not looking forward to that.  If you get a chance, could you please say a little prayer that everything goes smoothly and we have everything we need.  I know when we get finished with all of it, it will hit me that she is truly not coming home and living 8 hours from us.

I know we are suppose to raise them to leave our home and go out on their job, but this isn't easy.  I have been saying, can the girls get any further apart?  One in Michigan and one in Texas.

I will get to see my mom this weekend, so I am super excited about that.  I can't wait!  My family is really hoping I will come home more now that Erica lives up there with them.  Secretly I am hoping I get to too.

Update on Emily:  Here class room is perfect!  There were a couple wet ceiling tiles, if they leaked it didn't get on any of her stuff.  Praise God!!!  I can't thank you all enough for all of your prayers.  Emily asked me to tell you how much she appreciated them and how much they meant to her and her friends.  She was truly blessed through this whole thing.  The only thing she had to deal with was no internet for a week.

Welcome to my Fall Friday series!!!  Fall and Christmas are my favorite times of the year, so I love to create projects with this theme. For the next 8 weeks I will be sharing with you cards, scrapbook pages and 3D projects that have created.

Today's project is a fun decoration that you could use to decorate your home for all of the fall season.  I was on Pinterest looking for inspiration and came across something similar to this, but made out of wood.  I can't remember created the wood projects, but thank you to whoever shared your creation.  I really like how they turned out.

To make this project you will need the following products:
