Tulips and Easter just go together!  When I think of tulips the thought of Spring and Easter comes to my mind.  This year for my Easter cards I used the Timeless Tulips stamp set from the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  I was so excited when I saw that this stamp set was going to be in the new annual catalog.

Everywhere you look when you go in to stores, you will see the color purple.  Which is okay with me!  I also wanted to use the beautiful Hydrangea Hill designer series paper.  I did use a retired stamp set for the sentiment.

Look what a fun fold this card is!  It is an easy fold that gives your card that Wow effect.

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

On this card I stamped the tulips with the Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green inks and added Wink of Stella to the flowers and leaves.

On my second card I stamped the tulips with the Gorgeous Grape ink and the leaves and stems with the Granny Apple Green ink.  I couldn't decide which ink to use, so I was using both of them. I then added Wink of Stella to the flowers.  Look how they have a pinkish tint to them.  It was so weird when I put it the Wink of Stella on them, how it changed the color.  It was also really neat watching how it changed the color.

Here is a picture with both cards together, so you can see them next to each other.  Look how the top one (stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink) has pink in it.  The bottom card was the one stamped with the Highland Heather ink and there was no change to it. Crazy! I tell ya, just crazy!  But cool at the same time.

I added the beautiful Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon around the card and tied a bow.  I used the ribbon to hold the card closed.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today. Which one you like best?  Comment below and let me know.  I would love to hear your thoughts on both of them.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you are have a wonderful Wednesday and week.  Sending lots of love and hugs to everyone!

Do you need a fast and easy Easter card?  I have the perfect one for you!  I made this card using the Stampin' Up! His Grace stamp set in the 2019 occasions catalog.  The beautiful Floral Romance specialty designers series paper is one of my favorites and is so pretty on this card.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! The Fresh Fig paper behind the designer series paper and the circle created with the Starburst punch is so striking on this card.  It really makes everything pop.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Petal Pink

  • cut at 5 1/2" x8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Fresh Fig

  • cut at 2" x 5 1/2"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Whisper White

  • cut at 1 3/4" x 5 1/2"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" this is for the inside of the card

Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 1 3/4" x 5 1/2"

I am not sure if you noticed that the specialty designer series and the Whisper White paper has the same measurement.  When you put the white paper behind the designer series paper so you can see it better.  Otherwise, it will blend in with the Fresh Fig paper.

I used Versa Mark ink to stamp the flower on the Petal Pink paper.  Using this ink will give you a little bit of darker shade of the color you are stamping on.

It's Friday!!!  Do you have any big plans for the weekend?  I have class tonight and my team meeting tomorrow morning.  Then I will be busy getting ready to go to the Stampin' Up! OnStage event in San Antonio.  I have never been there, so I am really excited about going.  My family is going with me this time and we get to see Emily.  I can't wait!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I really appreciate it.  If you could leave me a comment I would love to hear from you!

Over the weekend I had a group of ladies from our church over for a card class.   It was so fun to watch them as they created their first cards.  None of the attendees had ever stamped before.  When I asked what type of cards they would like to make, they decided on 2 Easter cards and a birthday card.

On Facebook, Susan LaRock Lurvey, shared her Easter card she had made using the His Grace stamp set in the occasions catalog.  I was so happy that she did!  The above card is my version of the card.  I changed things a little bit, but overall it is her design.  Thank you Susan for sharing your beautiful creation.

In this picture they were busy working on the card I am featuring today.   All of them did such a great job for never stamping before!

I got the greatest compliment on Saturday.  There were two teenage girls, who came to the class with their mom and grandma.  When they were leaving one of them said that she loved making the cards more than playing video games.  The mom and grandma said that is a huge compliment since she plays video games all day long.  I was so happy she had such a great time!

Last night on my Facebook live I showed how to make these.  They are so easy and fun to make.

Happy Easter Scrapbook Page

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Large Letter Framelits #141712, Flourish Thinlits #141478, May Flower Framelits #140276, created by StampinScrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I have to first start off that I have the hardest time taking pictures of my scrapbook pages.  I am going to have to practice this a lot.  I also have to tell you that I used retired paper for this layout.  You can use any designer series paper you have, I was trying to use up some of my many drawers of paper.  I loved the colors of these papers together.  I got inspiration for this layout from one I saw on Pinterest.  I changed it up a little bit for what I wanted.

Just like the one I did last week, click HERE to see it, I used a piece of designer series paper and cut it to fit on both pages.  Someone had suggested on my Facebook page, Stampin Scrapper, that if you turned the page a quarter turn you would get a whole new look.  I never thought about doing that, but they are right.

The measurements for this layout are:

Middle Section:

Early Espresso

  • 8 1/2" x 11" cut at 4 1/8"

Calypso Coral

  • cut at 4" x 10 3/4"
  • cut at 2" x 10 3/4"

Baked Brown Sugar (retired color)

  • cut at 2 1/8" x 10 3/4"

Left Page:

Early Espresso

  • cut 2 at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"

Soft Sky (retiring)

  • cut 2 at 4 1/8" x 6 1/8"
  • cut at 1 1/2" x 12" for scallops

Mint Macaron (coming back in the new annual catalog)

  • cut at 2" x 12"

So Saffron

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 5" for the two small flowers

Right Page:

Early Espresso

  • cut 4 at 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"

Soft Sky (retiring)

  • cut 4 at 3 3/8" x 3 3/8"
  • cut at 1 1/2" x 12 for scallops

Mint Macaron (coming back in the new annual catalog)

  • cut at 2" x 12"
  • cut at 3" x 3" for the big flower

So Saffron

  • cut at 3" x 3" for big flower

Whisper White

  • cut at 3" x 3" for the big flower

For the letters I used scraps of Early Espresso cardstock and cut them out with the Large Letters Framelits.  For the big flowers I used the May Flowers Framelits and for the small flowers I used the Flourish Thinlits.  To finish off the flowers I put a Rhinestone (the biggest size in the package) and added it to the center of each one.

For the scalloped edges under the Mint Macaron pieces there is a thinlit in the Seasonal Layers Thinlits that is perfect for it.

A Good Day with Tutti Frutti

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! A Good Day stamp set #145873, Tutti Frutti Cards and Envelopes #147242, 1 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch #146139, Classic Label Punch #141491 created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Do you need a fast and simple card?  I have a perfect one for you today.  If you have been reading my blog, you know I love the Tutti Frutti cards and envelopes.  Well, today I used them in a little bit of a different way than the normal card base.

Today, I cut up the Calypso Coral and Pool Party card bases and added them to a base from Calypso Coral cardstock.  This way, I will get more cards out of this awesome set.

The sentiment and little bird came from the A Good Day stamp set in the Occasions catalog.  Did you see the scalloped circle behind the bird?  That is made from the new 1 3/8" Scalloped Circle punch that is on the same page as the stamp set.  There is also a 1 1/8" scalloped circle punch available.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Calypso Coral

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Pool Party

  • piece of scrap for the 1 3/8" scallop circle

Whisper White

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • scrap for the sentiment and 1 1/4" circle punch

Tutti Frutti Cards and Envelopes

  • cut the Calypso Coral at 4" x 5 1/4
  • cut the Pool Party at 1" x 5 1/4"

I used the Blends markers to color the little bird.  These have been so popular that Stampin' Up! hasn't been able to get them in fast enough to keep up with the demand.  To help with backorders and to make sure everyone who wants them gets them, they are not going to be available to purchase until the new Annual Catalog in June.  If you have used them, you understand why they are so popular.  If you haven't, you will have to try them when they are available again.  I absolutely love them!  I am really hoping that when they are in the new catalog, there will be more colors.

StampinUpAGoodDaystampsetTuttiFrutticardsandenvelopes2018SaleABrationStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman4

The first thing I did to make this card was adhere the Pool Party strip to the Calypso Coral printed paper.  I went up about 3/4 of an inch from the bottom.  I then wrapped the 3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon around the above pieces and had it lay half way on the Pool Party strip and half on the Calypso Coral and tied it in a knot.  Adhere all of that to the Calypso Coral Base.

I stamped the little bird and the sentiment from the A Good Day stamp set, using the Memento ink, and punched them out with the Classic Label Punch and the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  The bird and sentiment are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added one medium Rhinestone at the end of the sentiment for some bling.

The little bird is also stamped on the inside of the card and on the envelope.  You never send out a naked envelope (per Shelli, the co founder of Stampin' Up!).

I do want to give credit to Ronda Wade for her design of this card.  We made this card along with a couple of other ones when I was at Ronda's Leadership Conference in February.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

My Easter Card and pictures from OnStage

stampin up, StaminUp !EasterMessage stamp set #142987, Falling In Love DSP #142788, 3/8 Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I made this card for my open house that I had in January and have been waiting to share it with you.  I fell in love with the card in occasions catalog for this stamp set.  I changed it a little to go with the products I had on hand and it show the ribbon that was in our Sale-A-Bration brochure.  If you don't have this ribbon you could use any ribbon you have on hand.

To make this card, you will need the following products:

Blushing Bride Cardstock #131198

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 7/8" x 4 5/8"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 4 1/2"

Fallin In Love Designer Series Paper #142788

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

I stamped the image from the Easter message stamp set and then used our Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens.  I used the Early Espresso for the cross and the Basic Gray for the cloth.  This added just a hint of color to make a subtle impact.

I used dimensionals under the small Blushing Bride cardstock to give the card dimension.  I also added a piece of very vanilla cardstock to the inside of the card.

Below are some close up pictures of my projects that I had created for my display at OnStage.  I have to say my favorite is the scrapbook page of our farm.  I brought back a lot of memories.  I hope you enjoy your sneak peek of some of the new products.

In the above picture I was given the punch for the lemon/limes.  Did you notice the paper on both the top and bottom pictures on the right hand side.  You are going to love that paper stack.  So many possibilities.  How cute is the tab punch on the gift card holder?  In the bottom collage you will see how I used it to make a background.

I just realized I put a picture in here twice.  I must really like that project.  LOL  You will notice the paper again, can you see I loved it. The crate I made myself, but there is a die in the new catalog that you will be able to make it much easier.

stampin up, Stampin' Up! 2017 OnStage, April, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

The top right one is the background made with the tab punch.  I have to give my daughter Emily credit for that idea.  You might now notice in the pictures, but glossy white paper is back!!!!!  You know what else is in the new catalog that is returning?  The self adhesive sheets! They are going to be wonderful for all our small delicate dies.  On the bottom right corner picture you can see one of the new ribbons, washi tape and embellishments.  The bottom left picture is made using the new glossy white paper.

I am really excited about the glossy white paper.  It retired shortly after I started selling Stampin' Up!, so I didn't really get a chance to play with it.  I am sure there are a lot of really neat techniques out there for me to learn and share with you.

My first box arrived yesterday of the Eastern Suite and my other boxes arrive today from my preorder.  Oh, my goodness!  I think I have died and gone to heaven.  What should I create with first?

Last night we had the grandrandall's for a sleepover.  They were so good, I couldn't have asked for them to behave any better. They had a lot of fun helping me clean up my craftroom for class tonight. Beckett said to me that he thought I should get rid of some of my stuff because I could never use all of it.  Uh, NO!

You are probably wondering who are the grandrandall's.  Five years ago I met Todd and Kumiko when they came to talk to me about taking care of their first baby.  There was an instant connection between all of us.  You know how you meet someone and right away you know they are going to be a part of your lives for a long time, if not, forever.  Over the years, Todd has come to our church, accepted Christ and got baptized.  I was so honored and humbled when he did his video and talked about what an influence our family has had on him with his walk with Christ.  We have all adopted each other as a part of our family.  My girls call Todd their brother and Kumiko their sister and they do the same.  It warms my heart so much.

Some people at church thought Todd was our son.  I physically could have had Todd, but I would have been 14 years old.  We sometimes, say yes he is.  It is easier that way at times.  In our hearts they are our children and their children are our grandchildren.  We love all of them so much and we are so blessed to have them in our lives.

Have a terrific Thursday and thank you for stopping in today.

Lindt Easter Chick Holder

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Crazy About You stamp set #137137, 1 1/4" Circle Punch #119681, Petite Petals #133322, Classic Label Punch #141491, Banner Triple Punch #138292, Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack #142737, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to Stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I love chocolate!  I love the Lindt Chicks and Lambs!  I love making holders for them!  You can't tell me this little guy peeking out the window isn't adorable. He makes me smile every time I look at him.

To make this little guy you will need the following products:

Tempting Turquoise Cardstock #102067

  • cut at 2" x 8" score at 3 1/2" and 4 1/2"  ***cut your paper just a hair under 2" so it will slide in the punch perfectly

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683

  • scrap for flower using the petite punch

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • scrap for sentiment punched out with the Classic Label Punch

Using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, punch each end of your 2" x 8" piece of paper and fold on your score lines.  I set my little chick in the holder to figure out where I was going to punch out the circle using the 1 1/4 circle punch.  I attached the chick with fast fuse adhesive.

Isn't he just so cute?  This little holder is so easy to make, you are going to want to make a lot of them.

This is a great project to make for your family, friends and coworkers.

As you are reading this post, I am on my way to Minneapolis for the Stampin' Up! OnStage event.  I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am.  I will be setting up my display later today and meeting up with some new friends.  I will be posting on Facebook and Instagram with pictures.

Have a fabulous Friday!!

Happy Easter!!!

HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!  I hope you get to spend this special day with your family and friends.  I am excited that our daughter Emily is home from college, but sad that Erica has to work all day.  We were able to spend last night together going to dinner and a play.  We had a lot of fun!

I wanted to show you this card open first because I wanted you to see the adorable little chick in the inside of the egg.  How cute is she?  I saw this card on Pinterest and thought what a great idea for my Easter cards this year.

To make this card I used the Honeycomb Happiness Sale-a-Bration stamp set and Petite Petals.  To make this card you will need the following measurements:

Blushing Bride Cardstock #131198

  • 5" x 11" score at 5 1/2" cut out using the scallop oval from the oval framelits #129381

Birthday Bouquest DSP #140557

  • 4" x 5" cut out using the largest oval framelit

Whisper White #110730

  • 4" x 5" cut out using the largest oval framelit

Mint Macaron #138337

  • 3/4" x 4"

When you go to cut the scallop oval on the blushing bride paper you will want to make sure you leave 3 scallops off the paper on the top.  You don't want to cut the paper all the way through or you won't be able to open it.  If you happen to cut it all the way through you can put tape and tear at the very top of the scallop oval.  You will want to score the top piece before you do that at 1/4" so you will be able to open the card up.

I used the retired scallop border edgelit to make the cut on the mint macaron paper.  You glue the mint macaron paper to the DSP before you cut it with the edgelit.  I then glued the bottom portion to the white paper but remember DO NOT put adhesive on the top edge.  You will need to put the little chick underneath the scalloped border.

Put the top part in place NO ADHESIVE and use your piercing tool and put a little hole about 1/8" above the top edge of the mint macaron paper.  You will then put in a mini brad there and press down the ends of the brad.  This will secure the top part to your white oval piece.  You should now be able to move the top section of the egg.  I put a flower to hide the brad, just make sure you don't put any adhesive on the brad or the bottom section of the egg.  You want to make sure the top part moves so you can see your chick.  Attach the whole egg onto the pink egg.

I watercolored the chick using Daffodil Delight Ink #119683 for my color and used the pumpkin pie and basic black marker for the beak and eyes.

On the inside I stamped Happy Easter.  You can use any stamp you have for this part.
