It's time for Christmas card classes! Yay! I have to say, this is one of my favorite classes that I offer. I look forward to these classes every year.

I will be having my Christmas Card Classes from August - November. At the end of the four sessions you will have 48 beautiful handmade cards to WOW your family and friends with this year. This month I am going to be using the Evergreen Elegance stamp set from the annual catalog.  This stamp set also comes as a bundle with the Evergreen Border punch. You do not have to have the punch to create these projects, I will be providing the punched out pieces.

I will be having these classes online and in person. The classes will be held the first Friday and Saturday of each month, except for September, which will be the second weekend.

At each of the classes we will be making 12 cards, 3 of 4 different designs, including envelopes. My first in person class will be on Friday, August 6th at 6:30pm. If you are unable to make this class, I will be having it online on Saturday, August 7th at 2:00pm.

I saw a presentation by Dena Rekow, who helped design this stamp set for her $1,000,000 in sales, and loved it.  She had so many creative projects using this bundle.

When I designed this class, it was suppose to be held in my studio.  I did use a lot of different colors, which is no big deal, when I have the class in person.  I contacted all of the attendees to see what colors they had and changed the colors to match theirs.

Old Olive and Soft Suede.  The Whisper White was embossed with the Layering Leaves embossing folder.  For the flower I punched it out with the Starburst punch and layered it with a piece of Cajun Craze punched out with the 2 1/4" circle punch.  I haven't used the Braided Burlap Trim lately, I am not sure why, so I thought I would dust it off and use it.  The Starburst punch, Layered Leaves embossing folder and Braided Burlap Trim are all retiring.

I love the colors in the flowers on this card.  I used Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede.  The designer series paper is from the Neutrals 6" x 6" paper pack.  I also used the Leaf punch and Braided Burlap Trim.

I couldn't wait to share with you the exciting time I had in Texas last weekend.  Erica and I went down to see Emily and go with her when she went looking for her wedding dress.  I had a lot of mixed emotions on my way down there.  I am so happy for Emily, but at the same time I was a little sad.  In my eyes, she will always be my little girl with bouncy curls.  Now, she is a beautiful woman that I am so proud of.

IMG_8659
We found her dress!!!  She is absolutely beautiful in it.  Of course, I cried, cried, cried and then cried some more.  Heck, I cried all weekend.  They were all happy tears of course.

It was so nice to spend time with her and Jeff, and also have time with just Emily, Erica and myself.  I just tried to soak it all in, because I don't know when that will happen again.  We had some great conversations, laughed, cried and did a lot of wedding stuff.

I made thank you notes for the crew on our flights going to Texas and coming home.  I wanted to let them know that I appreciate them.  On our way home I gave them to the crew and they were so excited.  The one flight attendant was so cute.  She kept thanking us (Erica and I).  About 5 minutes later she brings us each a box of snacks.  We were so appreciative.  That is not why I gave them thank you notes.

Then, the captain came on with his normal information that they say at the beginning of flights.  Then he says, "I want to give a shout out to Joyce and Erica for the note.  We really appreciate it".  We couldn't believe it.

This is the best part, they moved us to first class!!!!  Boy, I sure could get used to traveling that way.  It was a perfect ending to a perfect weekend.  We were so blessed the whole weekend!    I don't think any of us will forget this weekend.
