Daisy Delight with Woven Threads DSP

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight, Daisy Punch, Woven Threads designer series paper, created by Stampin Scrapper, Joyce Whitman

I needed a fast, easy and simple card for a friend and this one was perfect.  I saw this card online and knew I wanted to make this card because I loved the way she did the flower.  I will tell you more about that later in this post.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight, Daisy Punch, Woven Threads designer series paper, created by Stampin Scrapper, Joyce Whitman

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock

Whisper White Thick

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4'

Whisper White

  • cut at 3" x 3"

Woven Threads Designer Series Paper

  • Cut at 2" x 5 1/2
  • Scrap for flower

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight, Daisy Punch, Woven Threads designer series paper, created by Stampin Scrapper, Joyce Whitman

To make the flower you first punch out one flower from the 3" x 3" Whisper White piece of card stock, keep the piece you just punched out.  You will then punch another flower from the scrap of designer series paper.

Stamp your sentiment from the Daisy Delight stamp set using the Rococo Rose ink.  Attach the long piece of designer series paper directly onto the Whisper White card base.  You will then adhere the 3" x 3" piece of Whisper White to the front of the card (after you punch out the flower).

Take the designer series paper flower that you already punched out and you are going to line it up in the same spot that you punched out the Whisper White flower.  Adhere it using  a Stampin Dimensionals.   Add the Whisper White flower with snail on top of the first flower.

StampinUpDaisyDelightWovenThreadDSPStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman3On the inside of the card I stamped Thank you and the daisy flower and on the envelope I stamped the flower on the bottom left hand corner both using the Rococo Rose ink.

Wasn't that an easy card to make?  Anyone who be happy to get this card from you.

Seasonal Chums (CT #167)

This week I have Christmas on my mind as I am prepping for my Christmas Card classes this week.  When I realized that there was vellum on the inspiration card, that got my creative juices flowing!  At my Stamp Camps last week we used the new Embossing Mats from the annual catalog, which got me thinking.  I wonder if I can use the Blizzard Thinlits on the Vellum paper with the Embossing Mats.  Why not try it and see what happens.  As you can see it worked out perfectly!

Here is a close up picture so you can see the embossing better.

Did you notice the shine on the Vellum?  I used the beautiful White Frost Shimmer Paint that is in the holiday catalog.  To get the coverage all over the Vellum, I used a sponge to apply it.  I dabbed the sponge in the paint first and then on to the vellum.

To adhere the vellum to the card base I used the sponge again.  Put some glue on a clear block, take a sponge and dab it in glue. Then dab it on the back of the Vellum. The glue will dry clear so you won't see it through the Vellum.

Here is our inspirational card this week:

When I started creating this card for CASEing Tuesday I automatically went to two of my favorite products from the holiday catalog.  The stamp set Timeless Tidings and the Joyous Noel designer series paper.  I like the designer series paper so much, I have already gone through 3 packs for my classes and need to order more.

When I first saw the Timeless Tidings stamp set, I knew I wanted it on my first order.  I love the fonts and sentiments in this stamp set.  There is a project kit that this stamp set coordinates with, Timeless Tidings Project Kit.  This kit has been so popular, that is on backorder right now.  As soon as it becomes available, I will let you know.  It is definitely worth the wait for this project kit.

Here is our inspiration card for this week:

This is the first card I used the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper on and I am not quite sure why I waited so long.  It is so pretty!

Did you notice the piece of Tranquil Tide behind the sentiment is a different design than I usually use?   I found my Starburst punch in my holder and realized I had not used it in a very long time.  I think it was feeling lonely, so I brought it out to play.  LOL

I adhered everything with Snail adhesive except for the Sentiment which I popped with Stampin Dimensionals.

Over the weekend I went and spent time with my friend and fellow demonstrator Mary Knabe.  She has recently moved to a new town to be near her children and sister.  It was so nice to get away and spend time together catching up and stamping.  We kept saying we need to take some pictures, and guess what?  We never took one picture.  I am so bad about that.  I really need to get better at taking pictures.

One thing that I got done over the weekend was to change my signature on my blog to go with my banner.  I have been meaning to get this done, but time just seemed to get away from me.  I was able to take the time and get it done finally.  You have to let me know what you think of it.

I have a fun and busy week with four classes this week.  After my class on Saturday, Erica and I are going to our favorite festival, the Apple festival in Lebanon, OH.  If you are around that area, I highly recommend you to go.  It is so fun and lots of yummy food!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

A Big Thank You (CT #165)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! A Big Thank You stamp set #147377, Frosted Floral designer series paper #147800, Layering Oval Framelits #141706, CASEing Tuesday, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

The Frosted Floral designer series paper is definitely a paper you need to see in person to see for yourself how beautiful it is.  All of the pages have a shimmery frost on them.  This paper is absolutely gorgeous!  I was excited when I saw our inspiration card for this weeks CASEing Tuesday.  I knew right away which designer series paper I was going to use.

Here is a picture of our inspiration card

40097805_10214130893920737_2739419730111627264_n

The card in the picture is a square card, but I made mine as a standard size (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") card.  I had a lot of fun stamping the sentiment on this card.  I used the A Big Thank You stamp set, Mint Macaron ink and a Tranquil Tide Stampin Marker.

To create this look, I first put Mint Macaron ink on my stamp. Then I took the Tranquil Tide marker and tapped it randomly on top of the Mint Macaron ink..  You are going to want to use the larger end of your marker, the one that looks like a paint brush.  You don't want to put too much of the Tranquil Tide on your stamp, because you want to be able to still see the Mint Macaron when you stamp it.  Before you stamp your image, you will want to huff on it first.  By doing this, you are making the ink moist again and ready for stamping.

You can't see it in the picture, but I put Wink of Stella on top of the stamped image.  It just added the right amount of sparkle to go with the designer series paper.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

I used Whisper White Thick as my card base and then added the designer series paper.   I wrapped the Silver Metallic Edged ribbon around the top section of the card and tied a knot.  The sentiment is popped using Stampin Dimensionals.

Do you ever have those days where everything you try, nothing works.  Well, last night and this morning, it is just that.  I have had to take 50 pictures of the card above and none of them are turning out.  I am doing my lighting the same as always, using my iphone like I always do and it keeps coming out grainy or blue or a pink tint.  I have tried every light I can think of, no lights, it doesn't matter.  So the above picture is not the greatest picture and for that I apologize.  I am going to try again later today and see if it helps and if it does, I will put the new picture in.  Now, on with the post I had ready for you.

When I first saw the Winter Woods stamp set in the holiday catalog it went immediately on my wish list.  I couldn't wait to get it and start using it.  When I saw the inspiration card for CASEing Tuesday this week I knew I wanted to use this stamp set.  In the inspiration card they used Watercolor pencils, which I haven't used in a while, so I was excited to use them.  I used the Pacific Point and Basic Gray pencils on this card.

Here is our inspiration card for this week:

40096962_10214130891120667_619954640569499648_n

On my card I first lightly put the basic gray on the bottom of the Whisper White cardstock and then went even lighter on the top.  I wanted to just do a very light base for the blue watercoloring.  When I colored with the Pacific Point pencil I barely pushed down on it.  I didn't want it dark, or medium for that matter, I wanted it to be light like the sky.

I stamped the trees with Stazon ink and then added the Shimmer paint. Using a sponge, on put the paint on the the area below the trees and then on the edges by the trees and the top edge.  To put the paint on the trees, I used a dauber and tapped it randomly.  I didn't want to cover all of the trees, I wanted it to look like snow was on them.

After the paint dried, I stamped the sentiment using Stazon ink.  I popped up the Balmy Blue layer and the white layer.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

I had my holiday catalog kick off class on Saturday.  I took pictures before, but didn't take any during the class.  I really need to get better at taking pictures.  I didn't even take pictures of my pumpkin cookies I made.  I have to admit, they turned out great.  Below are some pictures before everyone came.

Spirited Snowmen (CT #163)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Spirited Snowmen stamp set #148072, Buffalo Check background stamp #147794, Blizzard Thinlits Die #147902, Frost White Shimmer Paint #147044, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Did you see my post yesterday for the What's New at SU? blog hop?  If not check it out at Spirited Snowmen.   There were so many beautiful projects!  I can't wait to make some of them! I did the same technique on this card as I did on the card I posted for the blog hop yesterday.  This technique is called Ink Block technique and is very easy to do.  There is a little trick to getting the colors to blend, but I will explain that further down on my post.

I made this card for my CASEing Tuesday challenge this week.  Here is the card that is our inspiration:

40049823_10215871617600308_6467511640085495808_n (1)

This post is going to be a little long as I got a lot of emails and comments about how I made it.  I am happy to share the directions with you, so here they are:

  • stamp the 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White with the Buffalo Check background stamp using Balmy Blue ink

On a different piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White paper you are going to stamp your background for the snowman.  To do this you will:

  • take the Balmy Blue ink pad and ink up one half of an "E" clear block.  The easiest way to do this is to hold the block in your left hand and then have the ink pad in your right hand and tap it on the block.  You want to make sure you are putting a lot of ink on it.
  • do the same thing on the other end of the block with Smoky Slate ink
  • using the Spritzer (with water in it) you will spray the block (with the ink on it) about 4-5 times

This is the little tip I have for you.  Make sure you are putting on enough water, but not too much to make it drip.  It took me numerous attempts to finally figure out what I wasn't getting the look I wanted.  If you stamp it and have white spots, that means you don't have enough water on it.  I also learned that if you put too much water on it, it will drip and leave drip marks on your image.

  • once you spritzed it with the water, you will flip over your block and push it hard on your paper.

You will see it blend together through your block.  It is so neat to watch it do that!  You now need to let it dry completely.  You can use a heating tool if you want or wait about 10-15 minutes.  This is when I am working on other aspects of the card, such as cutting out the snowflake and getting my stamp and ink ready to stamp.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Spirited Snowmen stamp set #148072, Buffalo Check background stamp #147794, Blizzard Thinlits Die #147902, Frost White Shimmer Paint #147044, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

The next step is adding the White Frost shimmer paint.

  • I used an old block I had, one I didn't care if it got messed up, and poured about 2-3 drops of shimmer paint on it.  I then used a sponge and tapped the paint all over the stamped image.  I then blended it all together to give it a real shiny look and then let it dry again. I did use shimmer paint on my snowflake too.
  • after it is dry then you can stamp your image and sentiment.  I used Stazon ink as I wanted a real crisp look and I knew it would stay on.
  • add your other layers to the card base (I used Stampin Dimensionals under the black layer),  stamped image and then your embellishments last.

This isn't a hard technique, actually it is very easy.  The hardest thing is learning how much water to put on it.  I would suggest to practice a few times on copy paper first, before you use your good Whisper White cardstock.

I tried to get a picture so you could see how shiny it is, but I just couldn't get it to come out.  You can see it a little on the bottom by the snowflake.  It is really pretty in the person.

I hope these directions will help you when you try to do this technique.  I love it so much, I want to keep doing it.  LOL

Thankful Thoughts (CT #162)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Thankful Thoughts stamp set #141522, Tranquil Textures designer series paper #146331, 1/4" Copper Trim #144179, CASEing Tuesday #162, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

It's CASEing Tuesday!!!  I love participating in these weekly challenges.   Sometimes I copy the layout the same, like I did this week, and sometimes I take it in a total different direction.

Here is our inspiration card:

40104937_10215878549013589_8608595640785567744_n

My card this week is a easy peasy, lemon squeezey card.  My customers always laugh when I say that.  This is truly a very easy card to make.  I needed thank you notes for the orders customers placed this month and thought this would be a great layout for them.  You could change the sentiment to anything and use the same layout for a lot of different types of cards.

I used my Stamparatus for the sentiment since it had some thicker solid lines on it.  One thing I love about the Stamparatus is that you can stamp your image again and again, it will still be perfectly lined up.  How awesome is that, especially with the clear stamps.  The sentiment is from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set which was stamped with the Rich Razzleberry Ink.

I used a piece of the Tranquil Textures designer series paper and finished off the card with the Copper Trim Ribbon.  That's it!  Isn't that easy?  I made this card in under 10 minutes from start to finish.  I love cards like that, especially when I have to make a bunch of them.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Cardstock

Rich Razzleberry

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White

  • cut at 2 3/4 x 3 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card

Tranquil Textures designer series paper

  • cut at 1 1/2" x 4 1/2"

I didn't pop anything on this card, but you could easily pop the sentiment to give it some depth.

Happy Tuesday!!! It is time for CASEing Tuesday!  Today I am showing you a sneak peek to one of my favorite stamp sets in the new holiday catalog.

Fall time is my favorite time of the whole year.  I love the smells, especially bon fires, the cool weather and the colors of the leaves changing and sweatshirts.  The Falling For Leaves stamp set and coordinating framelits are so pretty.  I can't wait to show you this bundle and play more with it more.

Here is our inspiration picture for this week.

Did you notice the embossed leaves on the card?  I made those with the framelit that is meant to cut out leaves.  How did I do it?  I used our new Big Shot Embossing Mats.  You can take any framelit and use it to emboss your paper!  How awesome is that!  I can't wait to try it with other framelits.

To make the card you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Cajun Craze

  • cut at 5 1/2" x8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 3 3/4" x 6 1/2"

Blackberry Bliss

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 6 1/2"

Mossy Meadow

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5"

Very Vanilla

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Falling For Leaves stamp set #147680, Detailed Leaves Thinlits #147921, Bundle #149938, CASEing Tuesday #161, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stmapinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

On the Mossy Meadow paper I stamped the leaves with the Mossy Meadow ink.  I then took my bone folder and ran it back and forth on the edges to make them roughed up a little bit.  When I put my adhesive on the back of the paper, I made sure I didn't go all the way to the edge.  I wanted the edges raised up a little bit.  Once it was adhered to the card base I raised the edges up by running my finger under it and bending it up a little.

For the sentiment I stamped it with Blackberry Bliss ink on Very Vanilla card stock.  On my envelope and inside of the card I stamped the leaf in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Stitched All Around (CT #159)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Stitched All Around stamp set #146632, Stitched Labels Framelits #146828, Stitched All Around Bundle #148374, Tranquil Textures designer series paper #146331, Basic Pearls #144219, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman
I have to tell you a little story before I tell you about the above cards.  I made the first card, the one with the designer series paper on the bottom, first and showed it to Mr. Wonderful.  He told me he liked it, but thought it would look better with the patterned paper on the top.  I told him I didn't think so, but I would make one so he could see the difference.  I finished them, showed them to him and guess what?  He agreed it should be on the bottom.  LOL  I like both of the cards, but I do think the one with the designer series paper on the bottom looks better.  What do you think?

I told him that I was going to put this on my blog and I was going to make sure everyone knew I was right about the card.  He just laughed and said, but you call me Mr. Wonderful, so they already think I am wonderful.  Oh my goodness!

Our inspiration card this week is:

34318336_10213553010434011_6052784169145073664_n

With the new holiday catalog coming soon, I wanted to use a stamp set that I hadn't used very often from the new catalog.  So, I went looking at my stamp sets and remembered I bought the Stitched All Around stamp set because I loved the framelits, Stitched Labels that went along with it.   This stamp set and framelits are available as a bundle, which means you save 10% when purchased together.  Why, I haven't used them very often, I have no idea!  I wanted to use one of the new designer series papers that I ordered from the promotion Stampin' Up! had last month.  I decided on the Tranquil Textures because I loved how the one side had all the circles and then there was a beautiful blue paper on the other side.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Night of Navy

  • cut at 5 1/2" x8 1/2"

Mint Macaron

  • cut at 3/4" x 7 1/4"

Whisper White

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • cut at 3 1/4" x 3 3/4"

On the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" designer series paper you are going to cut it from corner to opposite corner.  This is going to give you two pieces, so you can make two cards.  You will attach the Mint Macaron paper to the edge of the piece you just cut.  Adhere both of them to the Night of Navy cardstock.  Line up the designer series paper with the edges of the Night of Navy cardstock.  You will need to trim your edges.

I stamped the sentiments using Fresh Fig ink on to the blue side of the patterned paper.  I then used a framelit to cut out the sentiment and attached it with Stampin Dimensionals.  I thought the card needed a little bit more, so I added three pearls onto the sentiment piece.  The pearls really did make a difference in the final look of the card.

In only 25 more days, Erica will be moving home and boy, do we have a lot to do.  When she moved to Michigan, we kinda, changed her room.  Ok, we took her room and changed it into Mark's office.  Now, that she is moving back, we have to change a couple of the other bedrooms around to make an office for Mark.  So, in the end we will have Mark's office, Erica's room, master bedroom and guest bedroom (aka Emily's room when she visits).  While we are changing everything around, we are also going through everything and getting rid of things we haven't touched in years.  I can't believe how much stuff we have in our house.

I can remember when we moved into this house 19 years ago, time sure has flown, looking around thinking, how are we going to put furniture in this whole house.  Now, I am thinking we have too much stuff in this house.  I will have to admit, I have taken over the basement as my crafting studio and I have a lot of things for my daycare.   So, if you take those two things out, there isn't quite so much.  I know, I am trying to justify it, but it really isn't working.  LOL

I can see a lot of Goodwill trips in the next couple of weeks.  It will be nice to get a lot of this stuff out of here though.  I did tell Mark that he is not allowed to touch my stampin studio though.  I will do that myself.  I would hate to see what he would throw out.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you are having a wonderful week!

I took advantage of the awesome designer series special that Stampin' Up! is having until 11:59pm tonight.  One of the designer series papers I bought was the Twinkle, Twinkle pack.  When I was looking at all the different designs of the paper, I came across the one I used on the card above.  My eyes were drawn immediately to it.  I love the strips and the colors.

Our inspiration this week is pictured below.

I kept the overall layout the same this week.  On the card above they used the Colored doilies, but since I didn't have them I used the Pearlized Doilies.  I haven't used doilies much, not sure why, but I really liked them on this card.  I think I am going to have to start using them more.

I used all of the colors in the designer series paper to create all the different elements of this card.  I then stamped three little butterflies in Pool Party and the sentiment with Night of Navy ink.  To finish the project I added Share What You Love Artisan Pearls (Petal Pink ones) around the sentiment and added Wink of Stella to the center of the daisy.

I have a tip for you: remember when you are designing your card to always do so in odd numbers.  Three butterflies, three pearls and one flower.
