Mr. Wonderful's Birthday Card - Country Club Suite

StampinUpCountryClubSuiteStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman2

When Robin and I went to a Stampin' Up! event in November, we got to see the 2020 mini catalog.  As soon as we both saw the Country Club suite we knew we had to get it.  Especially, since both of our husbands love to golf.  At the events, they have demonstrators present their creations using a new product from the new catalog.   I can't remember the name of the person who presented at our event, but she made this card.  We both fell in love with it immediately!

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"

Soft Suede

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cut on a diagonal

Crumb Cake

  • cut at 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"

Very Vanilla

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

I adhered the diagonal piece of Soft Suede cardstock on top of the Night of Navy piece and then embossed it with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  I cut out the Crumb Cake circle using the Layering Circle dies and then stamped it.  It is totally different than what I usually say to do.  The reason is, that it is easier to see where you need to stamp the images.

StampinUpWaterfrontPerennialBirthdayMasculineStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman3It's Friday!  I am so excited to be heading to Texas this morning.  I am, however, not excited that I had to leave for the airport at 3:30am this morning.   I just might have to take a nap sometime today.

Have a fantastic Friday and weekend.  Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I really appreciate it.

I have been wanting to make a card with the ladybug on the spring since I saw the stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  I love how it turned out.  She is so stinkin cute!

Yesterday I had a workshop for one of my friends and it was so much fun!  At my workshops we create some projects, learn a new technique and have fun spending time together.  One thing I do is make a thank you gift for the host.  I am so appreciative of her having her friends over to craft.  The above picture is the Mini Magazine and cards that I made for Linda as my thank you gift.

When Linda told me her favorite color was red, I immediately thought of the Peaceful Poppies suite.  I started with making the Mini Magazine Holder first and then made the cards.  I wanted to use the other designs of paper from the Peaceful Poppies designer series paper pack on the cards.  All the designs are so pretty.  I wanted them to be simple and easy to make.

StampinUpPaintedPoppiesMiniMagazineHolderWithCardsStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman11I made one of the cards to match the paper I used on the holder.  I then used the Poppy Moments dies to create the flower and leaf for the outside of the holder.  There is another flower on the other side of the holder.

Timeless Tulips With Best Dressed Designer Series Paper

Over the holidays I went through my craft room and cleaned out every drawer, bin, pile and/or basket in my craft room.  I changed some of the decor and tried to update other things.  I took down some cards that I had hanging up and put up new ones.  One of the cards I found was the same layout as the card above.  It looks so different with the new colors and designer series paper.

I love the bright colors in the Best Dressed designer series paper.  This paper so pretty and was perfect to pair it with the Timeless Tulips stamp set.  Do you remember the lily stamp set from last year?  This set reminds me a lot of that stamp set.  Both of them are the disINKtive style of stamps, which gives you so much dimensions in the color.  There is a punch that coordinates with the Timeless Tulips stamp set.  You can both the stamp set and punch as a bundle and save 10%.  I am all about saving money.  How about you?

I can't tell you how excited I was when I saw the Country Club Suite in the 2020 Stampin' Up! mini catalog.  Mr. Wonderful grew up on a golf course and still loves to golf.  Erica loves to play too.  Emily and I not so much.  LOL  We would rather go shopping!

Sale-A-Bration Thoughtful Blooms

StampinUpThougtfulBlooms2020SaleABrationStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman (1)

When a new catalog comes out from Stampin' Up! it is such an exciting time!  I love to look at the new products (and play) and get inspiration for the new ideas for projects.  Another fun event with a new catalog is that there are a lot of different swaps.   If you don't know a swap is, it is where you make a number, usually 12, of the same card and send them to the organizer.  Then she will sort them out and you will get back 11 different cards.  So, basically you are swapping your card with 12 other people, just through the mail.  This is a great way to get inspiration from others and samples of the different stamp sets in the catalog.

The above card is one of my cards that I made for a Sale-A-Bration swap.  Due to the holidays, I was running behind in working on my cards, so I needed something fast and easy.  I was excited about the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set because it had a coordinating punch, the Small Bloom punch.  You all know how I love punches.  You can get both of these for FREE during Sale-A-Bration.

20200103_sab20-1_en-usDuring Sale-A-Bration, January 3 through March 31st, you can choose a FREE products from the brochure for every $50 you spend on products before shipping and tax.   If you spend $100 or more there are additional options for FREE  products.  You can order products from the annual or mini catalogs.

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Whisper White Thick

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • scraps for flowers

One thing that I really like about this card is that it only has two colors, black and Petal Pink.  Did you notice the Champagne Rhinestones on the flowers stamped with black ink?  They are one of many beautiful products in the 2020 Stampin' Up! Mini catalog.  For the Rhinestone on the Petal Pink flower I used a black Sharpie to color it.

You could change the whole look of this card, just by changing the color of the middle flower.   How fun!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really appreciate you taking time out of your day.
