I am not sure why, but I love the colors of Night of Navy, Whisper White and Silver on a Christmas card.  We made this card at my Christmas Bingo class and the ladies loved it!  It is fast and easy and is a great design when you need to make a lot of them.

The Snowflake Sentiments stamp set is in the annual catalog and I use it all the time.  The font in this stamp set is one of my favorites.

When I create my scrapbook pages I sometimes use retired products or my Cricut/Silhouette machines.  On the beach page I used my Cricut machine to cut out all of the cutouts and on the Summer page I used the Tasty Treats designer series paper and the Frozen Treats framelits, both are retired.

On this page I used Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo, Peekaboo Peach (retired) and Pool Party cardstock.  The designer series paper is Tasty Treats and I cut the ice cream cones with the Frozen Treats framelits which are both retired.  For the letters I used the Large Letter framelits that are in the current catalog.  I added Wink of Stella to the ice cream to give it a little sparkle.

To create this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Crumb Cake

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 5" for the ice cream cones

Melon Mambo

Tomorrow is the day!!!  We are so excited that we get to go to Disney tomorrow with the grand Randall's.  The kids are going to have such a hard time sleeping this evening.  Heck, I am going to have a hard time sleeping.  I am thinking the adults might be more excited than the kids.

If you get a chance if you could say a little pray for all of us traveling tomorrow.  Especially for Erica as she is traveling by herself for the first time.  She will be meeting us in Orlando.

Here is Day 7 of Disney countdown with Minnie Mouse.

CountdowntoDisneyStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman7

Minnie was so tired for all her hard work that she needed coffee to start her day off.  She didn't even have enough energy to write a note to us.  One of the little ones said, "Joycie, she loves coffee just like you!"  Smart kid!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great day!

A Little Bit Of Old And A Little Bit Of New (CT #148)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! A Little Wild #144344, Happy Celebrations #143012. Swirly Frames #146519, Stampin Blends, Color Theory DSP, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Today's card is one I made for my niece's sons first birthday.  I used a little bit of old, A Little Wild and Happy Celebrations stamp sets and Color Theory designer series paper with a little bit of new, Swirly Frames stamp set.  When I saw the Swirly Frames stamp set at Stampin' Up! OnStage I really liked it. I kept thinking about all the possibilities with this set.  Then during prize patrol I won this set!  I was so excited!

The Happy Celebrations stamp set is one that is retiring and it is now while supplies last.  This stamp set, along with all the retiring products, are while supplies last and will no longer be available after May 31st.

I got my inspiration for this card from my CASEing Tuesday group.  Here is the picture that is our inspiration this week.

29595125_10213132084831134_3353432007716270686_n

For the animals I stamped them first with Memento Black ink, then I colored them with our Stampin Blends markers.  I used the Crumb Cake, Bronze and Smoky Slate.  These will be available for purchase on June 1st.  Since I only wanted the front of the animals I only inked up that part of my stamp and then cut them out with the Little Loves Framelits.  You will have to do a little trimming to cut off the part that connects to the other side.  These stamps are made to make gift tags, so there is the front and back of the animals.

To do the frame I stamped the frame image onto Crumb Cake cardstock using Soft Suede ink and then fussy cut it out.  I stamped the Happy sentiments with Soft Suede ink and the Birthday To You with Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White cardstock.  To adhere the frame to the Whisper White cardstock I used our Foam Adhesive Strips.  They were the perfect size for this project.  I then used the adhesive strips to attach the animals so they were all at the same height.

I stamped a lion in the inside of my card and an elephant on the outside of the envelope.

I hope these CASEing Tuesday projects and my other projects give you inspiration to create a card, scrapbook page, 3D project or any other type of project.  I would love it if shared it with me in the comments.  I love hearing from all of you.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a terrific week!

Tranquil Tulips with Brick Wall Embossing Folder

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Tranquil Tulips #143767, Brick Wall Embossing Folder #138288, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits #141489, Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon #144134, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I think I have already told you how much I am going to miss this stamp set when it retires at the end of the month, but I am also going to miss the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  This is one folder that I won't be getting rid of, it will go in my keep pile.

I love cards that have dimension to them and this card is one of them.  The Tranquil Tulip stamp set is a two step stamp set, which means you create the images in two steps.  The first step is to stamp the solid image, the bottom layer, in a lighter color or stamp off your ink first.  When I say stamp off your ink I mean to first stamp your image on a scrap piece of paper and then stamp it onto your project.  This will give you a lighter hue of the color you are using.  Then you stamp your second step right on top of the first image in the same color or a darker color.  On this card I used the same color, Lovely Lipstick.  Lovely Lipstick is one of the 2018-2020 In Colors which will be available June 1st.

Since I wanted to pop the top layer I did not stamp mine on top of each other, I stamped them next to each other on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I then fussy cut, cut them out with scissors, and attached the two layers together with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Tranquil Tulips #143767, Brick Wall Embossing Folder #138288, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits #141489, Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon #144134, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

For the Love sentiment I cut 2 of them using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  I cut one out of  Powder Pink and one out of  Lovely Lipstick cardstock.  I then adhered them together using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and offset them just a little.  The finished circle is also popped up using Stampin Dimensionals.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Whisper White Thick

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Pear Pizzazz

Masculine Birthday Blossoms

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Birthday Blossoms #139471, Wood Textures Designer Series Paper #144177, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

The font in the Birthday Blossoms stamp set is one of my favorites.   I am really going to miss this stamp set when it retires on May 31st.  I love how it has sentiments for narrow areas, like in the card above, or for when you have a little more room.  There is also a flower in the stamp set that coordinates with the Pansy Punch and that is also retiring at the end of the month.

The technique on this card is called the Starburst Technique.  This is a great way to use up scraps or showcase different patterns from a designer series paper pack.  So many possibilities with this technique.  You could do a masculine, new baby, birthday, wedding, anniversary, get well, hello, thinking of you, sympathy, just because or a note card.  These are just some ideas for cards, I am sure there are a lot more reasons to send a card.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Night of Navy

cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"cut at

  • cut at 1/2" x 5"

Marina Mist (Retiring)

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 5"

Wood Textures Designer Series Paper

  • cut 4 different designs at 1 1/2" x 4"

I have made this technique before using a different designer series paper.  It is amazing how different a card can look, just by changing the designer series paper.  The possibilities are endless!

Click on the picture below and it will take you to to the card I posted on February 6, 2017.  The post has step by step directions on how to create this beautiful, or should I say handsome, birthday card for the man in your life.

Christmas in May? You bet! (CT#147)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Hang Your Stocking stamp set #142114, Holly Embossing Folder #141634, Seasonal Layers Thinlits #143751, Be Merry Designer Series Paper, CASEing Tuesday, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and more go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

You are probably asking yourself why in the world did I make a Christmas card in May.  Well, I was working on making my card for CASEing Tuesday and started looking through my retired stamp sets.  I saw the Christmas sets and Christmas designer series paper and thought, why not?!

Here is our inspirational card for this week:

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! CASEing Tuesday, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I used a few retiring products on this card.  The retiring products are: Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler oval paper and is from Be Merry designer series paper, banner and snowflakes are made with the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  I used the Holly Embossing Folder on the Garden Green paper to give it some texture.

In the first picture, for some reason, the glimmer paper is showing up as white paper.  It didn't matter how I moved my lights around or what angle I took the picture.  I couldn't get the glimmer paper to show up.  You can, however, see it in the above picture.  I used the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to cut out the snowflakes.  I had to use the precision plate along with going back and forth at least 4 times to go through the glimmer paper.  Stampin' Up! has new glimmer paper in the new annual catalog that will cut with our framelits/thinlits.  Yay!

To make this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Cherry Cobbler

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White

  • cut at 4 x 5 1/4"

Be Merry Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Vellum

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper

  • cut at 3/4" x 2 1/2"
  • cut at 1 3/4" x 4 1/2"

I stamped the sentiment on the Vellum paper with Garden Green ink.  You are going to have to let it dry for a little bit or use your heating tool to dry it.  I then took the Multi Purpose Liquid Glue and put a small amount on a clear block and used a sponge to tap it on the back of the Vellum.  This way you will not see the glue through the Vellum.  I popped up the sentiment and banner with Stampin Dimensionals.

Mark and I were busy over the weekend working on our deck.  I really like how it turned out.  My favorite thing to do is to sit on my deck, with my coffee and read my bible.  It is so calming and relaxing.  Here are some pictures of our deck.

PicMonkey Image

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day.  I was able to talk to both of my girls and my mom, so it was wonderful day for me.

IMG_2426

I love this picture of my mom and me.  It was taken when I was in Michigan last month for her 85th birthday and to see Erica.  Mark is going to see Erica this weekend, so I get to craft all weekend long!  I can't wait!  I will miss Mark dearly, but I am also excited to be able to play in my studio as long as I want.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a fabulous week!

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Flower Shop stamp set #130942, Window Shopping 143265, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman
When I had my Hostess Appreciation event we made a couple of make and takes and this was one of the cards.  I wanted to have a bright and cheerful card along with showcasing one of the new colors, Pineapple Punch.  This color is so beautiful and bright,  just like the sunshine.  I tried different colors to coordinate with it and loved the way Tempting Turquoise really popped next to the Pineapple Punch.  I will definitely miss this color as it is retiring at the end of the month.  If you want it, get it now!  Don't forget to order the ink refill if you get the ink pad.   I chose retiring stamp sets, Flower Shop and Window Shopping, for the flowers and sentiment.

I used the Stamparatus for the sentiment, which was perfect for centering it on the Whisper White cardstock.

One thing I did to center the white pieces was put the top and bottom pieces, with the flowers stamped on them, and then added the middle piece.  It is a lot easier to center the middle piece then trying to start at the top and work your way down.

Tranquil Tulips With 2018-2019 In Colors

At our team meeting, Joyful Butterflies,  we made cards using the retiring hostess stamp set Tranquil Tulips from the annual catalog.  I wanted to spotlight one stamp set, but also wanted to introduce the new 2018-20019 In Colors.  So, I went through all of my stamp sets that were retiring and saw this one and thought it would be perfect.  I hadn't touched this stamp set in a long time, there for a while I was using it all the time, and it had the five different stamps for the colors I wanted to showcase.

The new colors are Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Gove, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch.  They are so bright and cheerful and made this card feel the same way.

To make the flowers I first stamped off the solid images before stamping them on my card.  For the second step of the flowers I did not stamp off, I stamped with full strength ink.  This gave the flowers great dimension and look more realistic.
