Last weekend I had my quarterly scrapbooking class and our themes were summer, beach and 4th of July.  This layout is so easy and you can change where you put the mats for your pictures so many different ways.  I love to watch and see how my attendees make their pages their own.

Robin found a page similar to this on Pinterest and we both loved it.  Thank you, to who ever was the first designer of this page, for sharing with everyone.

To make this project you will need the following products:

When I made this page I used a couple of retired products.  The Blueberry Bushel star was punched out using the Star Punch and the white stars were cut out using the Stars Framelits, both of them are retired.   The USA was cut out of Blueberry Bushel cardstock with the Large Letters Framelits, which is in the annual catalog.  Further down on this post you will see all the products that I used.  You can click on the pictures in it will take you right to my Stampin' Up! store.

Tomorrow is the day!!!  We are so excited that we get to go to Disney tomorrow with the grand Randall's.  The kids are going to have such a hard time sleeping this evening.  Heck, I am going to have a hard time sleeping.  I am thinking the adults might be more excited than the kids.

If you get a chance if you could say a little pray for all of us traveling tomorrow.  Especially for Erica as she is traveling by herself for the first time.  She will be meeting us in Orlando.

Here is Day 7 of Disney countdown with Minnie Mouse.

CountdowntoDisneyStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman7

Minnie was so tired for all her hard work that she needed coffee to start her day off.  She didn't even have enough energy to write a note to us.  One of the little ones said, "Joycie, she loves coffee just like you!"  Smart kid!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great day!

Moon Baby Cards

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Moon Baby stamp set #143085, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I wanted to share with today a stamp set I haven't used in a very long time, Moon Baby.  I found this card created by Julie DeGuia on Pinterest and loved how easy it is to make.  This is a great card you can make for a girl or boy just by changing the colors of the card stock and the color of the outfit on the baby.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Pink Pirouette Cardstock #111351  - for girl card

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/8" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 1 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Smokey Slate Cardstock #131202  - for girl card

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"

Bermuda Bay Cardstock #131197  - for boy card

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/8" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 1 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683  - for girl card

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730  for both cards

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 1 1/4" x 2 1/4"
  • cut at 2" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 1 1/2" x 7"  for the clouds

I started out with stamping all the images using the Memento ink as I was going to use our new Blends markers for the coloring.  The markers I used on both cards are the Daffodil dark and light markers.  For the boy card I used Bermuda Bay light and dark markers and for the girl I used the Pink Pirouette light and dark markers.

The clouds I punched out using the Tree Builder Punch.  I love how our products can be used for so many different things.  I then took Soft Sky ink and sponged it all around the edges of the clouds to give them a little distinction from the white on the card.

The sentiment was cut out using the Layering Oval Framelits.  The only thing I popped on these cards are the clouds.  Here is a picture of the inside of the card and I put the same thing on my envelope.

I made a bunch of these to have on hand since they were so easy to put together.

This is a short post today as I have been working on my Customer Appreciation Event I am having tonight.  I am so excited!!!  I will have pictures next week for you.  I can't thank all of you enough for the support you have given me on this wonderful journey.

SCS Creative Crew December 2107 Project #4

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Lovely As A Tree #127793, 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon Basic Black #144129, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

This is my final project as a SplitcoastStampers Creative Crew member (insert sad face).  I have truly enjoyed my time with the crew and I have met some wonderful ladies.  This experience has made me go out of my comfort zone and I have learned so much.   I am now not afraid to pick a technique and just try it.  You just try them too!  Who knows, you might actually enjoy them.

For this challenge we had to take a sketch and create a winter wonderland scene.  I kept coming back to the stamp set Lovely As A Tree for my projects this month.  When I think of Winter Wonderland, I think of trees, snow, moonlight, sparkle of lights and different shades of blue and purple.  What do you think of?

Here is the sketch that we had to use.

Winter wonderland sketch

I decided to turn it sideways for my card for a little bit of a different look.  The hardest thing about this sketch was figuring out the sizes of the pieces.  You have to be careful because you can't just cut the ends off, you have to cut from the center and make sure they are even.  Once I figured that out, than it was pretty easy.

The first thing you will do is stamp your design and complete the top layer (the Whisper White piece).  For my card I first used a Sponge Brayer and put a light layer of Soft Sky ink all over it.   I needed to soften the Whisper White, because I was going to be doing a night scene.  I then stamped my trees on with Basic Black Archival ink towards the bottom of my paper.  I wanted to make sure and leave room for my ribbon and bow.

Island Indigo was my next color of ink that I added with a sponge around the edges but going in a little towards the trees.  I didn't want to go too close as I wanted the center to be lighter than the edges.  The final color I added was the Night of Navy, again with a sponge, and that was only be the edges and not coming in as far as the Island Indigo.

I wanted to add some sparkle to it, to make it look like it was snowing, but how?  Well, I saw a video a while ago where you put multipurpose glue on a clear block, you don't need much glue, and an Aqua Painter brush.  Add a little bit of water to the glue and put it on your brush.  Hold the Aqua Painter over your paper and tape the brush against your hand so that it splatters onto your paper.  You then quickly add Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to your paper and shake off the excess.  It should stick to the glue and look like snow.  Well, that didn't really work for me, the first time.

So, I had these little water spots on my paper, but they looked kinda neat, so I left them, but the glitter didn't really stick.  I tried it again and it worked better, but I wanted more control of where the spots were going to be.  I ended up getting out my Wink of Stella and tapping it in different spots on my paper for the snowing affect.  I really like how it turned out!

To make this card you will need the following products:

Basic Black Cardstock #121045

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

This is how to cut your white paper once you are finished with it.

  • cut each strip at 1 1/4" wide
  • lay your middle strip onto your paper, center it, but do not adhere yet
  • top strip - cut in half at 2 5/8"
  • trim each piece to 2 1/2" cutting the inside edge
  • bottom strip cut at 1 5/16" and 3 15/16" - I marked the back of my paper so I could see exactly where I had to cut
  • trim each end piece to 1 1/4" - cutting the inside edge

Lay it all out on your black paper, that is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", before you adhere it to make sure you are happy with it.  Once you are happy, line up your outside edges and adhere your pieces to the paper.  Wrap your ribbon around it, tie a bow and attach it to your card base.

Isn't it beautiful?

Thank you for stopping in today!  I hope everyone has a blessed weekend!

Thoughts and Prayers and Jar of Love Fall Card

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Thoughts and Prayers stamp set #127805, Jar of Love stamp set #141587, Layered Leaves Embossing Folder #143704, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3 D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

One of my customers and dear friend, Stacy, had a workshop with me and wanted to use the Jar of Love stamp set for her cards we made.  As soon as she picked the date I had an idea on how to use this stamp set with a fall theme.  When I started making this card it didn't have any texture and I really didn't care for it.  I kept thinking, how was I going to make this better?  Then I thought about embossing it with one of our folders, but I already had the strips on the left taped down onto the card base.  Why not do it with the strips already there.  Either it was going to turn out good or really bad.  Thank goodness, it was good!   Yay!  I love how it turned out and so did Stacy.  I have used this technique quite a bit since.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Cajun Craze Cardstock #119684

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Crushed Curry Cardstock #131199

  • cut at 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Pumpkin Pie Cardstock #105117

  • cut at 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Wild Wasabi Cardstock #108641

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 4 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

I am not sure if you noticed that I used a piece of the Cajun Craze cardstock the same size as the front of the card.  If you would like, you can emboss the front panel of the card instead of adding an extra piece of paper.

When you are stamping the stems, the one on the left is stamped using the whole stamp.  However, on the right I didn't ink up about 1/2" of the stem on the bottom of the stamp.  This will give you two different heights of the flowers and still keep them within the jar.  The water in the jar was made using Soft Sky ink and  stamping it off first on a scrap piece of paper before stamping on your card front.  You want to make sure that it is light, but that you can still see it.

I stamped one stem of the flowers in the inside of the card on the bottom left hand corner and on the envelope.  I used Stampin Dimensionals to pop up the stamped image and the Wild Wasabi cardstock. To complete the card I added a triple loop bow using the Linen Thread.

More Merry Messages/Snowflake Sentiments

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! More Merry Messages stamp set, Snowflake Sentiments #144820, Winter wWonder Embossing Folder #144686, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I have met a wonderful demonstrator from Michigan, Ronda Wade, and she has graciously shared this card with us.  I love the simplicity and elegance of it.  I used the sentiment from a retired stamp set, More Merry Messages, but you could use the Merry Christmas from the Star of Light stamp set.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 2" x 2"

Gold Glimmer Paper #133719

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"

To make this card you will start with embossing your 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla with the sentiment with the Gold Embossing Powder.  This will make it easier to figure out the placement of the Winter Wonderland Embossing Folder.   You will then emboss the following with the Gold Embossing Powder:

  • snowflake for the front (use the 2" x 2" square)
  • snowflake on the bottom left hand corner on the inside of the card
  • on the bottom left hand corner of your envelope

Punch out the Gold Glimmer Paper with the 2" circle punch and the snowflake with the 1 3/4" circle punch.  I used Tear and Tape to adhere my snowflake to the Gold Glimmer Paper and then used Stampin Dimensionals to adhere it to the card.  To finish it off I added an little pearl in the middle of the snowflake.

If you want to make it even faster to make, stamp the snowflakes and sentiment with ink instead of embossing with the Gold Embossing Folder.  You could do a lot of different color combinations for this card and come up with a lot of different looks.

Don't forget to stop by on Monday for my Merry Christmas Monday series!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend.

Falling Flowers/Happy Birthday Gorgeous Birthday Card

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Falling Flowers stamp set #139556, Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set #143662, Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack #144131, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

One of my favorite things about Stampin' Up!, and there are many, is how everything coordinates.  This card is a great example of that. You have the designer series paper, cardstock, ribbon and ink all the same color.  There is no guessing, no worrying about if they all match and are the same hue of the color.  Everything matches perfectly.  I love that!!!

To make this card you will need the following products:

Fresh Fig Cardstock #144242

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4 x 5 1/4"

Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack #144131

  • cut at 1 3/4" x 5 1/4"

I used a stamp from the Falling Flowers stamp set for the floral design on the front of the card, inside the card and on the envelope.  I stamped all images using the Fresh Fig ink and colored in the floral designs using the Powder Pink Stampin Marker.

To tie everything together I used the 1/2' Finely Woven Ribbon in Fresh Fig which I cut at 6" and 7".

This is another simple card that you could get so many different looks with just changing the colors on this card.  You could use the Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide colors.

Can you believe tomorrow is Halloween and then it will be November 1st?  I really need God to slow time down just a little bit for me.  One good thing is we will get an extra hour of sleep on Saturday night because of Daylight Savings.  I will take that little blessing!

I hope you have an awesome week and thank you for stopping by!

Vintage Leaves Scrapbook Page

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Vintage Leaves stamp set #138802, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

You are not going to believe where I got the inspiration for this scrapbook page.  I was in Kroger getting groceries and thought I would go check out the Halloween/Fall section.  You never know I might find something I just couldn't live without.  Oh My Goodness, I found exactly that.  Sitting there were two coffee cups with leaves on them.  What is so special about that you ask?  Let me tell you!   They were the same leaves as in our Vintage Leaves stamp set and in Stampin' Up colors!!  I almost shouted out loud with excitement when I found them. I think my husband at this time thought I had lost my mind.  LOL

The colors were Fresh Fig, Crushed Curry, Tranquil Tide, Chocolate Chip and Cajun Craze.  I just couldn't believe it.  My first thought was, that would be such a pretty scrapbook page with all of those colors. Then my mind went crazy with ideas on how to use those colors together on other projects.  Below is a picture of the coffee cup.  Of course, I had to buy one.  You can never have too many coffee cups.

  Fullsizeoutput_12e9

I wanted a fall saying on this page so I went to Google and read a bunch, I mean a bunch and this one caught my eye.  All the things I love about fall, right there.  It was perfect.  Here is a close up of the poem so you can read it better.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Vintage Leaves stamp set #138802, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

To make this project you are going to need the following products:

Whisper White 12 x 12 Cardstock #124302

  • you will need two sheets

Cajun Craze Cardstock #119684

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"

Chocolate Chip Cardstock #102128

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"

Crushed Curry Cardstock #131199

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 4 5/8"
  • cut at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"

Fresh Fig Cardstock #144242

  • cut 2 at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"

Tranquil Tide Cardstock #144246

  • cut 2 at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"

I used the leaves from the Vintage Leaves stamp set and randomly stamped them in all the colors listed above.  I made sure I left some room between them, so it didn't look too crowded.

I really appreciate you stopping by today and checking out my blog. I hope you have a blessed day!

Fall Friday 2017 Week #7

stampin up, Stampin" Up! Sweet Home Stamp Set #140936, Labels To Love Stamp Set #144967, Spooky Cat Stamp Set #144749, Home Sweet Home Thinlits #140279, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Look how cute this Halloween layout turned out!  Every quarter I have my Scrap Along class where we make 3 two page scrapbook layouts with different themes.  Our themes at my class last Saturday were Halloween, Fall and Thanksgiving.  I always have so much fun creating pages for these classes.

To make this layout I used three different stamp sets, Sweet Home from the annual catalog and Labels to Love and Spooky Cat from the 2017 Holiday catalog.  All the products I used on these two pages are in the current catalogs (annual and holiday), except the paper I used to make the house.  The paper was in the 2016 Holiday catalog called Halloween Night Speciality Designer Series Paper.  You could use Smoky Slate paper and if you wanted our Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  Do you see the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape on the bottom of each page? How many ghost do you see peeking around the corners?

To make this page you will need the following products:

Pumpkin Pie 12 x 12 Cardstock #145483

  • you will need 2 sheets

Basic Black Cardstock #121045

  • cut 6 of 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"
  • scraps for the bats (7), door, window, cats, oval and 2 punches from Pretty Label Punch

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #1119683

  • scraps for the windows

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • scraps for the ghost (3), Happy Halloween, Trick or Treat and the label on the bottom right hand corner

Did you notice the roof on the house?  It is not a piece of paper, it is a stamp!  For this part I laid my house where I wanted it to go and then I stamped my roof.  It is much easier to stamp the roof first then adhere the house.  The house, window, ghost, and bats are cut out using the Home Sweet Home Thinlits.

The cats were punched out using the Cat Punch that coordinates with the Spooky Cat stamp set and the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.  If you buy the stamp set and punch as a bundle, you can get it at a savings of 10% off!

For the sentiment on the house and the top right hand corner I used the Spooky Cat stamp set.  The sentiment by the cats came from the Label to Love stamp set and I used the coordinating punch, Everyday Label.  To get the black layer behind the label, you are going to punch out 2 black pieces.  One piece you are going to cut it in half horizontally and the other one have vertically.  On the piece you cut horizontally you will also trim off the edges.  Adhere these pieces to the stamped image and you have made a background label for the white label.  See picture below.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Everyday Label Punch #144668, 2017 Holiday Catalog, Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I adhered everything with snail adhesive, except the ghost by the house and both sentiments on the right hand page.  For those I used Stampin Dimensionals to give them some dimension on the page.

Here are some additional pictures.

Now that we have the kitchen finished we are working on finishing the upstairs.  We are going through everything as if we are moving, which we are not, and Mr. Wonderful is painting the closets as we empty them.  He only has two more to go, but one of them is the master walk in closet.  Yep, that one is going to take us awhile to go through.  We have new carpet coming in a few weeks and we have to get rid of a lot of things so we don't have so much to move. Thankfully they are going to break it down into 3 days so that will be a big help.

I am very thankful that all of this will be done before Thanksgiving and before when Emily comes home.  We are sad though because Erica will not be able to come home for Thanksgiving this year and we are not sure about Christmas.  This will be the first time in 22 years that all four of us will not be together.  I know our kids are suppose to grow up and go out on their own, but do they have to move so far away?

SCS Creative Crew September 2017 Project #3

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up Vintage Leaves stamp set #138802, Merry Cafe stamp set #144965, Retiform Technique, designed and created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I have been wanting to try the Retiform Technique for a while.  With fall being our theme, I thought this would be a great time to try it.  I love it!  It is so fun and you get to use so many stamps from the one set.  You know how sometimes you only use 1 or 2 stamps from a set, this makes you use most, if not all of them.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Early Espresso Cardstock #11968

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

The ink colors I used were:

  • Cajun Craze #126965
  • Cherry Cobbler 126966
  • Crumb Cake #126975
  • Crushed Curry #131173
  • Early Espresso #126974
  • Old Olive #126953
  • Tangerine Tango #126946

The stamp sets I used were the Vintage Leaves and Merry Cafe. Vintage Leaves has been around for a long time and is still one of my favorites.  I used the sentiment from the Merry Cafe stamp set, which is in the holiday catalog, but only part of it.  The whole sentiment is "Hello Fall!  it's pumpkin spice latte season".  To get only a section of the stamp I used a post it note and covered up the part I didn't want inked.  Before I stamped it onto my paper,  I took off the post it note and was able to stamp only the hello fall section.  You have to remember to take off the post it note before you stamp your paper though.  Don't ask how I know this.  Too many times I have had to fix my mistake.

This is really my fourth and final project from SCS Creative Crew.  My third was the Fall Friday Week #2 project.  If you missed it click HERE to see it.

SCS Creative Crew September 2017 Project #2

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics Stamp Set #137154, Painted Autumn DSP #144613, Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

We were given 5 different fall pictures to get inspiration from and this was my card I made.  You could use this card as a birthday card for feminine or masculine, which is nice.  I think at times we all have a hard with masculine cards.  This card is also a fast and easy card that you could change the designer series paper and cardstock and have a totally different card.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Early Espresso Cardstock #119686

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Garden Green Cardstock #102584

  • cut at 4 1/8" x5 3/8"
  • cut at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Cajun Craze Cardstock #119684

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #110730

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper #144613

  • cut at 4" x 5 /14"

I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out all of the circles.  On the inside of the card and on the envelope I used the sentiment Happy Birthday from the Basic Butterfly stamp set.

I would like to first thank everyone for your prayers for our daughter, Emily.  Life is starting to get back to normal for a lot of people and yet, there are still a lot of people that are trying to deal with losing everything they own.  It is so sad, devastating and heartbreaking what Texas is going through right now.  Please continue to pray for everyone while they go through everything and learn how to deal with all of it.

Emily will be going back to school today to see what her room looks like.  We are praying that she was saved from the water.  To get into her school you have to go up 4-5 steps to get to the front door.  All the teachers moved everything in their rooms up 3 feet from the floor.  So, that is about 7 feet up and we don't think the water got that high in that area.  Tomorrow the children will begin coming back. They are trying to get everything back to normal the best they can.

Over the weekend we were busy painting our kitchen.  You know how you start one little project and it just snowballs.  Well, that is what is happening in our home.  It all started with us wanting to change the kitchen faucet.  Then if we are going to do that, why don't we go ahead and get the new counter tops that we have been wanting.  Well, if you have new countertops, we should repaint the kitchen before they are installed.  If I am changing the colors in my kitchen  that means I have to change the colors in my family room as they are all open to each other.  All of this because I wanted a new faucet.  I think the next time I ask for that Mr. Wonderful is going to be telling me no way!  LOL

We ended up having to paint the walls 3 times.  Once with primer and two with the paint.  I have to say I really like the new color.  I finished the cornice's in the family room.  It amazes me how much brighter a room can look just by changing the paint color and some fabric.  I can't wait until we have it all done.  Then the next big project will be replacing all the carpet on our top level of our home.  I am definitely not looking forward to that.

We have lived in our home with a daycare for 18 years, so it is definitely time to update it.  It will be very nice, once it is all done.

Here is a picture of the primer on the walls.

I will show all of you a picture once we have everything finished.  It will be later in the month when the counter tops get installed.  I can't wait!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!
