Fall Friday 2020 Week #2 - Mini Paper Pumpkin Box

Fall Friday

Thank you so much for all you kind comments last week about my Impossible Box project.  I have added a video on how to create the project to the Fall Friday 2020 - Week #1.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Fall Friday 2020 Week #2, Mini Paper Pumpkin Box, Banner Year, Celebrate Tidings, Little Treat Boxes dies, Snow Time dies, Metallic Mesh Ribbon, Treat Box Holder, created by Stampin Scrapper. For more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce WhitmanThis week's project is a style that is very different for me.  I love Fall and all the cute things that go with it.  The fall colors, pumpkins, scarecrows (cute ones), bon fires, sweater/sweatshirts, etc.  I am not into the scary stuff, especially for Halloween.  So this project, is not something I would usually make, but I thought I would give it a try.  Hey, you have to mix things up every once in a while.

I used a few different products on this project.  I used the Banner Year and Celebration Tidings stamp sets along with the Little Treat Boxes (for the spiders) and Snow Time (for the sentiment) dies.  This project is one that is made with a little bit of this and a little bit of that from different products.

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Mini Pizza Boxes

  • cut 2 at 3/4" x 3 1/2"

Magic In The Night Designer Series Paper

For the sentiment I stamped it in Blackberry Bliss and the spider webs in Memento Black ink.   To finish off the project I cut 3 spiders from the Black Glitter Paper.

I know this project is not my style, but I really do like how it turned out.  Sometimes it is good to get out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Fall Friday

UPDATED ON 9-12-2020 TO INCLUDE VIDEO

Welcome to my Fall Friday series!  I am so happy you stopped by to check out my first project this year.  I have never made an impossible box before, so I thought this was a great time to try it.  Surprisingly, it was easier to make than I thought I would be.

You might be asking what is an impossible box.  It is a treat box where the lid is attached to the bottom part of the box.  I had a lot of request for a video on how to make this project, which made my day!  On Saturday night I did a Facebook live showing how easy it is to make this box.  Here is the video.

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

With my classes, I have been having some online and some in person.  My Peony Garden Suite class was one that I did both.  Last Friday night I had two very special ladies come over and take the class.  We had such a good time.  I knew I missed in person classes, but I didn't realize how much until they came over.  It was so wonderful!

We made 4 cards and a post it note holder using the beautiful Peony Garden Suite.  This suite is one of my favorites, no, it is my favorite suite, in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  I love the colors, Gray Granite and Petal Pink, together and the softness of the beautiful designer series paper.

Here are the projects that we made:

I loved having this class online and in person.  I am actually enjoying the online classes more than I thought I would.  They have been a lot of fun and I am meeting people from all over the country.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a terrific day!

June 2020 Paper Pumpkin - Sunshine Box

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, 2020 June Paper Pumpkin, Sunshine Box, Notepad Holder, Pen, Gift Card Holder, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Have you ever met someone new and connected so fast, that it was like you knew each other forever.  I have met such a person.  Her name is Diane and she manages the hotel where we had a block of rooms for Emily and Jeff's wedding.  When I saw the Stampin' Up! June Paper Pumpkin, I knew I wanted to make the sunshine box for her.

With everything going on in the country right now, Emily and Jeff decided to delay their big wedding until next summer.  They are still getting married on Friday, but with only immediate family.  It will definitely be a lot smaller, but still special for them.  Jeff's mom and I are trying very hard to make it as special as we can for both of them.

Diane has gone out of her way to help us with things for the wedding before it was delayed and since.  We can't thank her enough for everything she has done for me and Emily and Jeff.  If you ever have need a hotel in Tomball, TX I highly recommend the Hampton Inn.  The hotel is beautiful and I can't say enough good things about them.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, 2020 June Paper Pumpkin, Sunshine Box, Notepad Holder, Pen, Gift Card Holder, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce WhitmanI made 4 of the cards from the kit the way they are designed.  Then I went a little crazy with creating different things for the sunshine box for Diane.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, 2020 June Paper Pumpkin, Sunshine Box, Notepad Holder, Pen, Gift Card Holder, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce WhitmanThe project on the left is a notebook.  I made a cover for a pad of paper using the front section of one of the cards and the accessories from the kit.  The project on the right is a gift card holder.  I found the designer series paper from my retired stash.  It is from the Tropical Oasis designer series paper from the 2020 Janauary - May mini catalog.  It was perfect for this project.  I also used a small piece of designer series paper from the Artistry Blooms paper pack in the new annual catalog for the pen.  The colors coordinated so nice.

I love how you can use one product from one suite and it coordinates with another suite.  That is one of the biggest reasons why I love Stampin' Up!  Everything coordinates!

Every year, after Sale-A-Bration, I  have an event for anyone who has purchased over $100 or joined my team.  This year I was unable to have it, but I still wanted to do something for everyone.  I made one of these boxes for each of my customers that qualified with goodies in it.  I forgot to take a picture of what I put inside of it.  I have been receiving messages from some of the recipients that they love them.  Yay!

It is Monday and a great day to start your week fresh and full of possibilities.  What big plans or goals do you have for this week?

Thank you for stopping in today!  Have a great day!

Spring Shadow Box

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Spring Shadow Box, created by Stampin Scrapper. For more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

My lovely ladies have been asking me to create another shadow box and have a class.  This time I made a Spring one!  It is definitely what I needed at this time.  It brings more sunshine into my craft room.

I had my first online class on Sunday and this is the project we made.  The ladies loved it!  I had some major technical issues, but I was able to just start over and it went great.  Thank you to all of the attendees for being so patient with me.   I really appreciate it.

Tonight I am having my first Zoom online class.  I am so excited and nervous all at the same time.  I have learned so much in this last week, that sometimes I feel as my brain is going to explode.  LOL

I am so thankful for all of the wonderful people that I have met through Stampin' Up! and today I am even more thankful.  I was trying to set up Zoom to do my class and I was having some issues.  So, I called my dear friend, Mary, and she was able to help me figure out what was going on.  It was all because of a setting.

I learned that it is best to use two devices, so that one will be on my project and one on me.  Another demonstrator, Linda, whom I have never met or talked to before, called me and walked me through how to do get all my settings right on both devices.  You are probably wondering how she knew to call me.  Well, there is a Facebook group for leaders with Stampin' Up! and she commented on a post how to use two devices.  I sent her a message with a question and she was so willing to help me.

How blessed was I?!  I don't know if I would have been able to figure it out on my own.  I was thanking God all night for putting all the wonderful people that I met through Stampin' Up! in my life.

I can't believe it is Friday already.  This week has gone by so fast for me.  I hope all of you have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

Whoever got the blue pen also won the notebook that I made to match the pens.

I used Powder Pink ink and paper, which are retired, but you can use Blushing Bride, which is very close in color.

What a wonderful weekend we had!  It was absolutely perfect.  The only thing I would have changed is more time with my family.  We were only there for about 36 hours, so it was a very short trip.

It is tax time at my house this week, so I am going to be busy working on getting all of that fun stuff together.  YUK!!!  If you don't see a blog post, it is because I am knee deep in paperwork.   I will definitely be back next Monday as I will be doing a Facebook Live on Monday night.

Yesterday I had a workshop for one of my friends and it was so much fun!  At my workshops we create some projects, learn a new technique and have fun spending time together.  One thing I do is make a thank you gift for the host.  I am so appreciative of her having her friends over to craft.  The above picture is the Mini Magazine and cards that I made for Linda as my thank you gift.

When Linda told me her favorite color was red, I immediately thought of the Peaceful Poppies suite.  I started with making the Mini Magazine Holder first and then made the cards.  I wanted to use the other designs of paper from the Peaceful Poppies designer series paper pack on the cards.  All the designs are so pretty.  I wanted them to be simple and easy to make.

StampinUpPaintedPoppiesMiniMagazineHolderWithCardsStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman11I made one of the cards to match the paper I used on the holder.  I then used the Poppy Moments dies to create the flower and leaf for the outside of the holder.  There is another flower on the other side of the holder.
