Daisy Delight with Woven Threads DSP

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight, Daisy Punch, Woven Threads designer series paper, created by Stampin Scrapper, Joyce Whitman

I needed a fast, easy and simple card for a friend and this one was perfect.  I saw this card online and knew I wanted to make this card because I loved the way she did the flower.  I will tell you more about that later in this post.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight, Daisy Punch, Woven Threads designer series paper, created by Stampin Scrapper, Joyce Whitman

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock

Whisper White Thick

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4'

Whisper White

  • cut at 3" x 3"

Woven Threads Designer Series Paper

  • Cut at 2" x 5 1/2
  • Scrap for flower

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight, Daisy Punch, Woven Threads designer series paper, created by Stampin Scrapper, Joyce Whitman

To make the flower you first punch out one flower from the 3" x 3" Whisper White piece of card stock, keep the piece you just punched out.  You will then punch another flower from the scrap of designer series paper.

Stamp your sentiment from the Daisy Delight stamp set using the Rococo Rose ink.  Attach the long piece of designer series paper directly onto the Whisper White card base.  You will then adhere the 3" x 3" piece of Whisper White to the front of the card (after you punch out the flower).

Take the designer series paper flower that you already punched out and you are going to line it up in the same spot that you punched out the Whisper White flower.  Adhere it using  a Stampin Dimensionals.   Add the Whisper White flower with snail on top of the first flower.

StampinUpDaisyDelightWovenThreadDSPStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman3On the inside of the card I stamped Thank you and the daisy flower and on the envelope I stamped the flower on the bottom left hand corner both using the Rococo Rose ink.

Wasn't that an easy card to make?  Anyone who be happy to get this card from you.

Fall Friday 2019 Week #2

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Gather Together stamp set, Come To Gather designer series paper, Gathered Leaves Dies, Gather Together Bundle, Fall Friday 2019, Week #2, Happy Fall Y'all, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce WhitmanI have been wanting to make a project with the saying "happy fall y'all", especially with Emily living in Texas.  I finally did it!  I really like how it turned out.

I got my inspiration from the holiday catalog on page 46 the Come To Gather Suite.  Here is a picture of the project

I used the Gather Together Bundle, which is the Gather Together stamp set and Gathered Leaves dies.  When it is bundled, you can save 10% when you use the bundle item number.  I also used the Come To Gather designer series paper and Come to Gather Ribbon combo pack.  The only thing I didn't use in this suite was the Tags and Feathers Elements (I couldn't find them LOL).My craft room is a little, no a lot, crowded with everything Robin and I are working on for my Holiday Extravaganza.

I used the Hand Lettered Prose dies in the annual catalog for the saying.  The frame is from Michael's, and was left over from when I did the "Home" sign project.  Miss the project?  Click Home Sweet "O" Sign  to see the project. It is Friday!!!

This is the first Friday in a very long time that I don't have a class or other commitments.  I don't know what I am going to do.  Yes, I do!  I am going to spend time with Mr. Wonderful and Erica.  I hope all of you have a terrific weekend and get time to spend with your loved ones.

Have you ever looked at a card and fell in love with it immediately?  I saw this card online and fell in love immediately.  I don't remember who created it, but if it is yours or you know who did,  please let me know so I can give her/him credit.  I love to color so this was right up my alley.  The Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and Magnolia Memory dies are perfect for coloring.  You know what else is awesome? You can get the stamp set and dies as a bundle and safe 10%!  I love when Stampin' Up! offers bundles.

For the pink card, I used the Lovely Lipstick, Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow - both dark and light - Stampin Blends.  I love these markers, they are perfect for coloring different layers of color on your projects.

For the blue card, I used the Night of Navy, Balmy Blue and Mossy Meadow - both dark and light - Stampin Blends.

What is really nice is I used one sheet of paper.   This one of the simple stamping cards, which is ink, paper and stamps.  You will need

Whisper White Thick

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

I stamped the flowers and the sentiment with Memento Ink and then used the Stampin Blends for all the coloring.

I like to start with the darkest color first and go to the lightest color when I color in an images.  If you look closely you can see where I left a couple of spots white.  I wanted it to look as realistic as possible.  When you look at a flower the next time, see if you see some white spots?  Especially if the sun is shinning on it.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Good Morning Magnolia, stamp set, Stampin Blends, Hello, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking or 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce WhitmanTo get part of the flower to stick up like in the picture above, it is actually quite easy.

  • stamp your image with Memento ink
  • using the die in Magnolia Memory dies line up the flower
  • put the Big Shot plate edge where you want it to stop cutting (I did it at the score line)
  • put through the Big Shot - make sure you are cutting the side you want up to stand up
  • once you reach the score line, stop and crank the Big Shot handle the other direction
  • you don't want to cut it all the way through

You may have to trim it a little with your Paper Snips if you don't get it all the way to the score line.  When you fold your card on the score line, that part will stay up.

Now is when you want to color it.  You don't want to color the whole thing, then go to cut it, make a mistake and ruin the whole card.  Ask me how I know not to do this.  LOL

To finish off the cards, I added Wink of Stella to the flowers and stems.  I love to color, so this card was especially fun for me to make.  We also made this card in my advanced card class, not because of difficulty, due to the amount of time it took to color everything.  The ladies loved it!

I couldn't wait to share with you the exciting time I had in Texas last weekend.  Erica and I went down to see Emily and go with her when she went looking for her wedding dress.  I had a lot of mixed emotions on my way down there.  I am so happy for Emily, but at the same time I was a little sad.  In my eyes, she will always be my little girl with bouncy curls.  Now, she is a beautiful woman that I am so proud of.

IMG_8659
We found her dress!!!  She is absolutely beautiful in it.  Of course, I cried, cried, cried and then cried some more.  Heck, I cried all weekend.  They were all happy tears of course.

It was so nice to spend time with her and Jeff, and also have time with just Emily, Erica and myself.  I just tried to soak it all in, because I don't know when that will happen again.  We had some great conversations, laughed, cried and did a lot of wedding stuff.

I made thank you notes for the crew on our flights going to Texas and coming home.  I wanted to let them know that I appreciate them.  On our way home I gave them to the crew and they were so excited.  The one flight attendant was so cute.  She kept thanking us (Erica and I).  About 5 minutes later she brings us each a box of snacks.  We were so appreciative.  That is not why I gave them thank you notes.

Then, the captain came on with his normal information that they say at the beginning of flights.  Then he says, "I want to give a shout out to Joyce and Erica for the note.  We really appreciate it".  We couldn't believe it.

This is the best part, they moved us to first class!!!!  Boy, I sure could get used to traveling that way.  It was a perfect ending to a perfect weekend.  We were so blessed the whole weekend!    I don't think any of us will forget this weekend.

Happy Labor Day!!!

Labor-Day

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Labor Day!  As I was typing up this blog post, I was wondering who came up with the idea for Labor Day.  So, off to Google I go!  This what I found out.

Peter J. McGuire, a carpenter and labor union leader, was the person who came up with                                                                 the idea for Labor Day. He thought American workers should be honored with their own day.                                                             He proposed his idea to New York's Central Labor Union early in 1882, and they thought the                                                                 holiday was a good idea, too.

Did you know Peter J. McGuire started it?  I had no idea!
