Have you ever looked at a card and fell in love with it immediately? I saw this card online and fell in love immediately. The original designer of this card was Emma Goddard, a member of the Stampin' Up! Artisan team. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful card. I love to color so this was right up my alley. The Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and Magnolia Memory dies are perfect for coloring. You know what else is awesome? You can get the stamp set and dies as a bundle and safe 10%! I love when Stampin' Up! offers bundles.
For the pink card, I used the Lovely Lipstick, Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow - both dark and light - Stampin Blends. I love these markers, they are perfect for coloring different layers of color on your projects.
For the blue card, I used the Night of Navy, Balmy Blue and Mossy Meadow - both dark and light - Stampin Blends.
What is really nice is I used one sheet of paper. This one of the simple stamping cards, which is ink, paper and stamps. You will need
Whisper White Thick
- cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
I stamped the flowers and the sentiment with Memento Ink and then used the Stampin Blends for all the coloring.
I like to start with the darkest color first and go to the lightest color when I color in an images. If you look closely you can see where I left a couple of spots white. I wanted it to look as realistic as possible. When you look at a flower the next time, see if you see some white spots? Especially if the sun is shinning on it.
- stamp your image with Memento ink
- using the die in Magnolia Memory dies line up the flower
- put the Big Shot plate edge where you want it to stop cutting (I did it at the score line)
- put through the Big Shot - make sure you are cutting the side you want up to stand up
- once you reach the score line, stop and crank the Big Shot handle the other direction
- you don't want to cut it all the way through
You may have to trim it a little with your Paper Snips if you don't get it all the way to the score line. When you fold your card on the score line, that part will stay up.
Now is when you want to color it. You don't want to color the whole thing, then go to cut it, make a mistake and ruin the whole card. Ask me how I know not to do this. LOL
To finish off the cards, I added Wink of Stella to the flowers and stems. I love to color, so this card was especially fun for me to make. We also made this card in my advanced card class, not because of difficulty, due to the amount of time it took to color everything. The ladies loved it!
I will be showing you how to make my project from my first Fall Friday of 2019. It is the post right below this one. I will be also sharing you a Christmas version of the same project.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a fantastic week!
Happy Stampin and
