I think the Come Sail Away suite in the Stampin' Up! new 2019-2020 annual catalog is going to be a big hit. It is a perfect set for masculine cards, which to be honest, are sometimes difficult to make, and for anyone who loves the water.
I saw this card, created by Wendy Weixler, online awhile ago and fell in love with it. I loved everything about it, so I didn't change a thing. It is not too often that I see a card and not change something on it. Thank you so much Wendy for sharing your wonderful card with everyone.
To make this card you will need the following paper. For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.
Whisper White Thick:
- cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
- cut at 2" x 4 1/4"
Night of Navy
- 1 3/4" x 5 1/2"
- cut at 2" x 3 1/2"
Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper
- cut at 1 1/2" x 5 1/2"
For the Baker's Twine a took a piece about 13" - 14" long and folded it in half. Then I tied a knot in it and adhered it with glue dots. Once in place I cut the ends off at the edge of the paper. I added a Metallic Silver Pearl in the center of the helm.
The products that I used, besides cardstock and ink, are not available for purchase until June 4th when the catalog goes live.
I am not sure if any of you know, but on Monday night there were 13 tornados in our area. The damage is devastating, to say the least. We were very blessed and only lost power for about 7 hours on Monday night. However, we did lose internet and cable yesterday from about 1:30pm until 5:00am this morning. You don't realize how much you use the internet until you don't have it.
Our city has some major damage, but thankfully because of our wonderful meteorologists, there were only minor injuries. You see pictures on tv and you feel for people, but there is no way to comprehend what they are going through, until you see it in person. Mr. Wonderfull and I drove around Tuesday night and I literally sat in the car and cried and continued to cry all night. I get teary eyed just thinking about it. I can't even put into words the feelings I was feeling. I was just awful, and sad, and heartbreaking, and unbelievable, and I could go on for a long time. Our town is great and we will recover and be stronger and better. I am so impressed with the amount of people that are jumping right in to help their neighbors, friends and total strangers. It makes me proud to say I live in Beavercreek, OH.
I was in the middle of writing this blog post when the internet went out, so that is why there wasn't a post on Wednesday. I keep telling myself to work ahead, and then I get side tracked with playing with my beautiful crafting supplies, that I don't do it. That is on my list to do this weekend. However, I have two classes and need to get things ready for my Catalog Kick Off Class next Friday. So, I am thinking I am not going to be that much ahead next week. LOL
I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. Give your loved ones a hug and tell them how much they mean to you. I am sending out love and hugs to each and everyone of you! Thank you so much for being a part of my journey, no my life.
