April 22, 1988 was a day filled with extreme emotions for me.  I was so excited, because I was going to get married in one year to my Mr. Wonderful.  I couldn't wait.  However, that all changed with one phone call.  My world, our world as a family, was changed forever.  We had lost our dad.  I can't believe it has been 31 years. Some days it feels like 31 years, other days it feels like yesterday.  My hardest anniversary of his death was the year I realized I was alive longer without him than with him.  Today, is one of the days that it is very hard.

When I realized that my dad went to be an angel in heaven on earth day, I felt a peace come over me.  Why did that bring me peace?  You see, my dad was a farmer and who works more with the earth, than a farmer.  It was the perfect day for my dad to go home to be with our creator, God.  God's love has helped our family get through the years without him and He will continue to help us.  I know that I will get to see my dad again one day, so for now, I will cherish my memories of him.  I love and miss you daddy so much!

Happy Earth Day!  I hope you have a blessed day and a wonderful week!

Incredible Like You with Bloom By Bloom

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Incredible Like You, Bloom By Bloom, Needlepoint Nook designer series paper, Happiness Blooms designer series paper, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, Rhinestones, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to, stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

What do you do with your scraps of paper?  Do you use them, keep them or throw them away?  Today I have two cards to share with you that I made with scraps of paper I had laying on my craft table.  I used the same layout on both of them, but used different designer series paper.  The designer series paper I used on the left  was Needlepoint Nook and on the card on the right I used the Happiness Blooms paper.  Both of these papers are from the 2019 Stampin' Up! occasions catalog and will be retiring.  If you want these papers, I highly suggest you get them asap as once they are gone, they are gone for good.

I used the same stamp sets for both of the cards.  The sentiment is from the Incredible Like You stamp set and the little flowers are from the Bloom By Bloom stamp set.  Both of these stamp sets are also retiring.  They will be available to the middle of May and then it will be while supplies last.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Night of Navy

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Balmy Blue

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  • cut at 2 3/8" x 2 3/8
  • cut 2 at 2 7/8" x 2 7/8"

Whisper White

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
  • cut 2 at 4" 5 1/4"

I popped the diamond shaped layer with stampin dimensionals.  When I stamped the little flowers by the sentiment, they needed something to bring them to life.  So on the all blue card I added Rhinestones Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Incredible Like You, Bloom By Bloom, Needlepoint Nook designer series paper, Happiness Blooms designer series paper, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, Rhinestones, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to, stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

and on the multi colored card I added Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots

If you are like me, you have a lot of designer series paper and especially scraps of it.  This easy layout would be great to use some of those scrap pieces, or even using a full sheet and making multiple cards.

Last weekend I was in San Antonio, TX for the Stampin' Up! OnStage.  My family went with me as we have never been to San Antonio, except for Emily.  It was so much fun! Here is a picture of my family at the Alamo on Friday.

IMG_7150

On Thursday night I finally got to meet one of my best friends, Sherry, in person.  We have been friends on Facebook for almost 3 years.  We would message each other almost everyday, have video chats and talk on the phone, but never saw each other in person.  Oh my goodness!  She is beautiful, inside and out.

Fullsizeoutput_1f90
After dinner we went to the Alamo and walked around and took pictures.  We were laughing so hard that we couldn't stop to get a good picture.  I do like this one though.  Have you ever met someone and thought we are so much alike it is scary.  That is Sherry and I.  Even our husbands and Erica said it is scary how much our mannerisms, how we talk and act are the same.  I am so blessed to have her in my life.

This trip was also special because I got to go with another best friend of mine, Robin.  You have heard me talk about her before on here and in my videos.  We are also a lot alike, which is even scarier.  Two more of me walking around this earth.  Yikes!  LOL

IMG_7113

Robin and I think a lot alike, so much that we will finish each other sentences.  She is one of my best friends, team member and assistant.  I couldn't do all that I do with my Stampin' Up! business if it wasn't for her.  We have so much fun creating projects together, prepping for classes, drooling over new products, laughing, shopping, you name it, we have fun doing it.  I am so blessed to have her in my life.

I have to say I have met most of my very good friends, through Stampin' Up!  It doesn't get any better than creating and laughing with people you love.

Would you like to meet people, have fun creating and laughing?  You can!  When you become part of my Joyful Butterflies team, you become part of our family and the Stampin' Up! family.  Click on the link below for more information.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Last weekend I went to the Stampin' Up! OnStage in San Antonio, TX.  It was so much fun!   At these events, if you want to, you can make cards to swap with the other attendees.  The above card is the card that I made to swap at this event.  I must really love the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I was looking through my paper and realized I had three packs of it.  So, needless to say, that is the paper I used on this card.  All the patterns are so beautiful.  This paper is on the retirement list and is only available while supplies last.

I added one of the pearlized doilies, which are carrying over to the new catalog, using snail adhesive.  You could pop this layer with Stampin' dimensionals.  Since I had to pack these in a suitcase I kept them as flat as possible.

Beauty Abounds Get Well Card

At my team meeting this month I wanted to have our stamping time making projects using products from the occasions catalog.  On this card we did that with using the Beauty Abounds stamp set.  We also used some products from the Stampin' Up! 2018-2019 annual catalog.  I used the Healing Hugs stamp set and the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Beauty Abounds stamp set #148726, Healing Hugs stamp set #146530, Share What You Love Artisan Pearls #146927, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Petal Pink

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5"

Whisper White

  • cut at 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card

I first stamped with the Petal Pink ink, then Soft Sea Foam and then with Daffodil Delight.  The colors are very soft, which is perfect for this time of year.  I stamped the flower image in Early Espresso so it would really pop.

When I put the card together I did pop up the Soft Sea Foam layer with Stampin Dimensionals.   Then I added pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.  You can use a lot of the different colors in this embellishment.  On this card I used the Grapefruit Grove and Petal Pink.

Do you need a fast and easy Easter card?  I have the perfect one for you!  I made this card using the Stampin' Up! His Grace stamp set in the 2019 occasions catalog.  The beautiful Floral Romance specialty designers series paper is one of my favorites and is so pretty on this card.

The Fresh Fig paper behind the designer series paper and the circle created with the Starburst punch is so striking on this card.  It really makes everything pop.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Petal Pink

  • cut at 5 1/2" x8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Fresh Fig

  • cut at 2" x 5 1/2"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Whisper White

  • cut at 1 3/4" x 5 1/2"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" this is for the inside of the card

Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 1 3/4" x 5 1/2"

I am not sure if you noticed that the specialty designer series and the Whisper White paper has the same measurement.  When you put the white paper behind the designer series paper so you can see it better.  Otherwise, it will blend in with the Fresh Fig paper.

I used Versa Mark ink to stamp the flower on the Petal Pink paper.  Using this ink will give you a little bit of darker shade of the color you are stamping on.

It's Friday!!!  Do you have any big plans for the weekend?  I have class tonight and my team meeting tomorrow morning.  Then I will be busy getting ready to go to the Stampin' Up! OnStage event in San Antonio.  I have never been there, so I am really excited about going.  My family is going with me this time and we get to see Emily.  I can't wait!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I really appreciate it.  If you could leave me a comment I would love to hear from you!
