Dandelion Wishes Get Well Card

It is so striking when you use white embossing powder for your stamped images against a darker color.  On this card I used the Dandelion Wishes stamp set and stamped it with Versa Mark ink.  I then added the white embossing powder and heat set.  It is so striking, which I tried to get in the picture, but it is hard to get the full effect.  Trust me, it is beautiful in person.

To add a little texture to the card, I added a piece of the Basic Gray cardstock (the same size as the front of the card) and embossed it with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  The first time I tried just embossing the front section of the card base, but I didn't like how it made the front of the card almost seem thin.  So, I decided to emboss a separate piece of paper and attach it to the front of the card.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Basic Gray

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Mint Macaron

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
  • cut at 3 3/8" x 4 5/8"

Whisper White

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card

I also used Versa Mark ink and White Embossing Powder on the sentiment.  I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The sentiment and under the Mint Macaron layer is popped up using Stampin Dimensionals.

Do you have any special plans for this weekend?  I am going to try and finish up my Christmas shopping and do my baking this weekend.  Every year I make goodie bags for each daycare family.  I usually put between 10-12 different goodies in their bags.  They look forward to it each year.  Tonight I am finishing up my mother-in-laws famous nut roll.  It takes me two days to make it, but it is so worth it!  Do you have a favorite recipe you make each year?

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a terrific weekend!
