Seasonal Chums (CT #167)

This week I have Christmas on my mind as I am prepping for my Christmas Card classes this week. When I realized that there was vellum on the inspiration card, that got my creative juices flowing! At my Stamp Camps last week we used the new Embossing Mats from the annual catalog, which got me thinking. I wonder if I can use the Blizzard Thinlits on the Vellum paper with the Embossing Mats. Why not try it and see what happens. As you can see it worked out perfectly!

Did you notice the shine on the Vellum? I used the beautiful White Frost Shimmer Paint that is in the holiday catalog. To get the coverage all over the Vellum, I used a sponge to apply it. I dabbed the sponge in the paint first and then on to the vellum.

To adhere the vellum to the card base I used the sponge again. Put some glue on a clear block, take a sponge and dab it in glue. Then dab it on the back of the Vellum. The glue will dry clear so you won't see it through the Vellum.

Cardstock:

Balmy Blue

cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Night of Navy

cut at 7/8" x 3 3/8"

Whisper White

cut at 3/4" x 3 3 /8"
cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" for the snowman
cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card

Vellum

cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

For the snowman I used the Seasonal Chums stamp set and colored the snowman with Stampin Write markers. I used the Balmy Blue, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Shaded Spruce. The sentiment is from the Timeless Tidings stamp set and was stamped with the Balmy Blue ink.

After I took the pictures for this blog post, I was looking at my card and decided to add Wink of Stella to the snowman. I put it on the body of the snowman and on the bunny's tail.

The grid paper is perfect size for the Stamparatus, so you have your stamps perfectly aligned. The extra plates are great to have when you have more than one project going and you need the Stamparatus for all of them. The foam mat is great to have extras of as you will use it with your photopolymer stamps. If you want all three of them you can get them as a bundle too!

That's not all , you can get extra magnets if you need them. A reminder, don't let your magnets near each other. They can snap when they click together, as they are very powerful.
