I saw this card online and my eyes went directly to the leaf. I loved the different colors on it, but I thought how in the world did they do that? I started playing around with it and finally figured out a fast and fun way to get the same look of the original card. The stamp set, Falling For Leaves, has a coordinating thinlit, Detailed Leaves and is available as bundle. When you purchase a bundle you save 10%!
The first thing I did was ink up the whole leaf stamp with Melon Melody ink. Using daubers I added Blackberry Bliss ink randomly and then Poppy Parade ink. Once you have all the ink on your stamp, make sure you huff on your stamp before stamping it on your paper.
The new Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is so beautiful. Boy, that is a long name for a product! LOL I call it the Tin Tile embossing folder, much easier. I can't wait to use it on other projects.
To make this card you will need the following paper. For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.
- cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
- cut at 3" x 4 1/4"
- cut at 2" x 4 1/4"
- cut at 3/4" x 1 3/4" for the sentiment
- cut at 2 1/8" x 4 1/4"
- cut at 3 1//8" x 4 3/8"
- cut at 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" for the leaf
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for inside the card
I used Stampin Dimensionals to adhere the 2 1/8" x 4 1/4" Whisper White piece and the sentiment to pop them up off the other layers. I stamped the leaf on the bottom left hand corner of the inside of the card and envelope.
I wanted to let you know that the Timeless Tidings Project Kit and Santa's Workshop Memories and More card pack are on backorder and will not be available until sometime in October. As soon as they become available I will let you know. I am so thankful that I placed my order for my workshop next week, on Tuesday morning as it went on back order status in the afternoon, We are using the Timeless Tidings Project Kit on Wednesday at my workshop.
What an expensive week we have had at our home! We had to replace the refrigerator that we had in the basement. It was 19 years old and starting to show it's age. We didn't want to wait until it died and we lost all of our food in it, so we replaced it now. Erica needed new tires on her car, got a new computer and are having our air conditioner and furnace replaced today. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch!!! When it rains, it pours. I really hope that is all for a long time.
I am really excited about this weekend though. I am going to spend the weekend with my friend and fellow demonstrator, Mary. We are going to have so much fun stamping and spending time together. I can't wait! Do you have any fun plans this weekend?
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have a fantastic weekend.
