Rooted In Nature and Flourishing Phrases CT#155
07/10/2018
I had to make another sympathy card for one of my aunts as my uncle passed away unexpectedly. I don't like having to make these type of cards, I don't think anyone does, but when I do I try to make them as a reflection of the person who passed. My aunt and uncle were suppose to go spend the weekend at the campground with all of their family, but God had different plans for them. They spent the weekend together, just not in the place they thought they would.
For this card I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set and used the sentiment in the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. As I was making this card, I kept thinking of my uncles smile and laugh. I will always remember that about him. Great memories!
Here is my inspiration card for this weeks CASEing Tuesday
The card I made this week is an easy design that you could make for any occasion.
To make this card you will need the following products:
Cardstock:
Crumb Cake
- cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Very Vanilla
- cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" for the trees
- cut at 3 1/2" x 4 1/4"
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
To make the trees I used 3 of our Stampin Write Markers. I first inked the trees with the Shaded Spruce marker and then dabbed the tip of the Mossy Meadow marker randomly on top of the Shaded Spruce ink. The trunks of the trees were colored with the Early Espresso marker. A tip I have for you is when you use markers to color your stamps, make sure you huff on your stamp before you stamp your image on your paper. You need to make sure your ink hasn't dried on your stamp as it takes longer to color them with markers than an ink pad.
On the Crumb Cake card base I used Crumb Cake ink to stamp the leaf images. I was trying to figure out what to use to make the grass on the bottom and then remembered there was a grass stamp in the Enjoy Life stamp set. I used the Shaded Spruce ink to stamp the grass. To decorate my envelope I stamped one of the trees on the bottom left hand corner.
I hope I don't have to make another sympathy cards for a while. 2 in a month is more than enough.
Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!
