The Stained Glass technique is such a pretty technique.  You don't really see how beautiful it is in a picture, you need to see it in person.  This technique looks like it is complicated, but the truth is, it is so easy!

The biggest trick to doing this the paper you use to make it.  Can you guess what it is?  It is Vellum!  The first thing I did was stamp the image from Rose Wonder stamp set, with VersaMark ink and then add silver embossing powder.  I then heat set it with the heating tool.  I also did this technique with the sentiment and then cut it out using the Rose Garden Thinlits.

Once I had that finished the embossing, I flipped over the piece of Vellum, so the back was facing up.  I used the Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Blends markers in the dark shades to color the rose.  Wasn't that easy?!

Here's another trick for you!  You know how adhesive shows through Vellum and none of us like that.  Usually,  you have to strategically place it so it is behind a stamped image, or sentiment, any place you can hide the adhesive.  Well, I have a way that you don't have to do that anymore.  You take our Multipurpose Liquid Glue and put some on a clear block, yes it comes right off, or a paper plate.  You then take one of our sponges (I cut mine into either 6 or 8 pieces), dab it in the glue and then tap, do not wipe or smear it on, it on the back of the Vellum.  Lay it on top of they white piece of cardstock and it adheres perfectly without any of it showing.  Isn't that awesome?

I then added my sentiment which I popped up with the Stampin Dimensionals.  To finish off the card I added Wink of Stella to the the rose and leaves.  It is so pretty in person.

Try and make one yourself and you will be amazed at how beautiful this card really is.  My mom's birthday is next month and she loves roses.  I am going to make her one of these cards for her in her favorite rose color, red.  I think I am going to try and use both the light and dark on it and see how that comes out.

We have throughly enjoyed having Emily home this past week.  Time went too fast as always.  We really didn't do anything special, just hung out and talked.  When she comes home she always makes sure she goes and sees Alex.  Who is Alex, only the best hair stylist around!!!  We all love him.  Both, Emily and Erica, go and see him when they come home.  What is funny is they schedule some of their visits around when they want there hair cut.

Emily goes home this afternoon and won't be back until June.  She has a crazy summer with lots of weddings, one she is a bridesmaid, and all of us with the grandRandall's going to Disney!  I get to see Erica next month when I go to Michigan for my mom's 85th birthday and the 30 year anniversary of my dad's death.  I still can't believe it was 30 years.  Some days it does seem that long and other days, it is like it was yesterday.  I sure do miss him though.  He was a fabulous man!
