Botanical Gardens/Floral Boutique Scrapbooking Pages

Oh My Goodness!  I am in love with these two pages!!!!  They are so much brighter and prettier in person and there is NO STAMPING!  I tried to capture it in the picture, but it just wasn't happening.

All of you know how much I love the Floral Boutique DSP, so  I had to use it again.  I wanted to add another color to the Night of Navy and the Whisper White.  I ended up going with Cherry Cobbler, and boy am I glad I did.  It turned out better than I thought it would.

Do you see how the white section of the page looks smaller than the DSP paper on the bottom?  Well, they are actually the same size!!  I wanted to get two pieces out of a 12 x 12 sheet of paper, so I had to cut it in half.  I also wanted to have it look bigger than the white, but how can I do this?

The first thing you need to do is cut the Cherry Cobbler strip across the page at  1 1/4" x 12".  Then adhere the Floral Boutique paper to the bottom section of your 12 " x 12" Whisper White Paper.  This is a time when it is great to use the grid paper if you have it.  You are going to put your Whisper White paper on the grid paper making sure the paper is lined up on the left hand side and bottom.  You are then going to take you Cherry Cobbler strip of paper and line it up so that the top of the strip is at 7".  You will then adhere it the paper.

You now have the DSP up 6" on the Whisper White paper and the Cherry Cobbler strip at the 7" mark on your grid paper (yo can use a ruler if you don't have our grid paper.  I highly recommend it!!!  I use it daily for some many things.  When you have all that done your Whisper White section is 5 inches!  How clever is that!!  By doing it this way you will be able to get two pages done with one sheet of DSP paper!  I am all about saving paper.

I have one more tip for you today!  In the Flourish Thinlits set there is this really pretty decorative strip, but it is only 5" long.  Well, how am I going to make that work when my paper is 12" long.  The end of the dies can't butt up to each other because it doesn't make the same design.  What am I going to do?  Then a light bulb went off!!  What if I over lap them, lining them up perfectly, will you be able to see it? NOPE!  Yay!!! I was so excited.  I used 3 of the strips to make the detailed decoration on top of the blue strip of paper in the center of the pages.  What do you think?  Isn't it pretty?

I used the Botanical Builder Framelits to cut out all of the flowers I used on this page.

You will need the following measurements to create this layout:

I did not pop any of the flowers on this page. I used snail adhesive on all of the paper.

Here are pictures of the pages up close so you can see the detail better.

I just realized the bottom picture is upside down.  LOL  The more I look at it the more I like it that way too.  You can just flip flop all you want, use different paper and you could have a lot of different designs!  Sometimes our mistakes come out better than we had originally planned.

I have busy week this week as we are painting Erica's room and getting it ready for her to move back home Labor Day weekend. Erica has been in an apartment with her friend, which she loved, but realized she is never home.  So, being smart about money, she thought why spend money on rent when I am not there?  I will just move back with mom and dad!  I would too!

I am also working on my Technique Class projects for class on Saturday!  It is going to be messy but fun!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Stampin!
