Apple of My Eye
04/09/2016
I have been drawn to bright colors lately, which is probably why I love this card so much. It just screams SUMMER to me. It could be because it has been so cold, with snow, since the beginning of April that I am secretly dreaming of summer. Oh, I can just picture sitting outside enjoying the sun, warm temperatures, hearing the birds sing and relaxing. hmmm Now back to reality! I better get my sweatshirt on, I am getting a little cold.
I designed this card for Theresa's workshop as this way a favorite stamp set of hers. I am glad she did because I wasn't going to buy this stamp set until she mentioned it. I am having a lot of fun creating different cards with this set. To make this card I did use a lot of different colors, but it didn't really take anymore time than other cards I have made.
Here are the measurements for this card:
Mossy Meadow Card Stock #133676
- cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
Daffodil Delight Card Stock #119683
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
Whisper White Card Stock #100730
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4" this is for the inside of the card
- cut at 3 3/4" x 5" this is for the front of the card
- scrap papers to stamp the pear on and cut out
The order I stamped this card is as follows: orange, lemon, apple, cherry branches, cherries, stems, leaves and then the saying. There is a little trick I would like to let you know about that helped me a lot. For the stem on the apple, just ink up the top part of the stem with early espresso ink and line it up on your apple. It was so easy and you can judge how long you want it to be. It is also easier if you stamp the branches to the cherries first, then you know exactly where to stamp the cherries.
I stamped the pear using pear pizzazz ink on a scrap piece of paper and fussy cut it (using my paper snips). I also stamped and cut the stem and leaf and attached them using glue dots.
I stamped the inside of the card and my envelope with the lemon and cherries. I had to add the leaf in there because I made a little boo boo and had to cover it up. I always tell me clients you can always fix a mistake. Here is a picture of it for you to see what I stamped.
I hope this card puts a little bit of sunshine in your day and makes you happy! Thank you for stopping by today.
Happy Stampin!
Joyce
