I ran out of time over the weekend to get this post ready for you this morning, sorry for the delay. Emily was home from college for her spring break and had to go back yesterday, so I wanted to spend as much time as I could with her. I also had to finish up my cards for Stamp Camp for this week, which I will be posting soon. There were a few late nights last week, but I got all the cards done that I needed for this week! We also had to go see the tax lady, Lynn, and that was very depressing. Self employment tax is a killer. As one demonstrator said "I am going to be standing out with a sign that says high tax bill, please buy some stamps". I laughed out loud when I read that. I love it!! Some days I wish I had more hours in my days. Anyone else feel that way?
Last month my friend, Theresa, had a workshop with me. I always ask my hostess what stamp set they would like me to use for the cards we make and what technique they would like to learn. Her two favorite stamp sets were A Nice Cuppa and Apple of My Eye out of the Occasions Catalog. This is one of the cards we made and I will have the other card later this week (it is so cute!). My challenge for this set was not to use the framelits, only stamping. I love the framelits that go with this set too, so this was a real challenge for me. I knew I wanted to use the paper that coordinates with this set, but where do I go from there. I just started playing with the set and after a few tries this is what I came up with. I think it turned out quite cute if I say so myself. LOL
You will need the following cardstock cut at these measurements:
Bermuda Bay Cardstock #131197
- Cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
Basic Gray Cardstock #121044
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
- cut at 3" x 4"
Whisper White Cardstock #100730
- cut at 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"
- cut at 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" - this is for the front of the card
- cut at 4" x 5 1/2" - this is for the inside of your card
Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack #140567
- cut at 2" x 5 1/8"
On the piece of whisper white for the front of the card I used the tea bag stamp and stamped it all over the paper. I colored in the square with the Bermuda Bay marker. The paper that has the ribbon around it is poped up with dimensionals.
I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but I stamped it with the stamp "and spending time with you" in Bermuda Bay ink.
This is a short post as I wanted to get it on the blog for you as soon as I could.
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful Monday!
