Wedding Card

I belong to a Facebook group that does a monthly swap and other challenges weekly.  Last week our challenge was to design a black and white card.  Perfect!  I needed a wedding card and black and white are great colors for them.  I found my designer series paper, Timeless Elegance, and knew it would look nice on a wedding card.  There was one problem, it wasn't white, it was very vanilla.  I used it anyway and still posted my card.  I used the curvy corner trio punch #139683 to make the tag.  I love this punch and hope they put it in the next annual catalog.

To make this card I used basic black cardstock measured at 5 1/2" x 8 1/4" score at 4 1/4".  The other paper I used was:

Basic Black:  1 7/8" x 5 1/4" and 1 5/8" x 3 1/8"

Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4" and 1 1/2" x 3"  you will also need scrape paper to stamp the flowers and punch them out.

Timeless Elegance: 2" x 5 14"

I started out stamping the leaves from the stamp set Kinda Eclectic #135350 in the upper right hand corner.  I stamped it twice to give it a fuller look.  I then attached the dsp (designer series paper) to the piece of black paper.  When I attached both to the very vanilla the right hand side of the black was at 2 inches the center of the very vanilla.  This gave you a little space on the left side and enough room to stamp and put your sentiment on.  Then I did all my stamping, the flowers and the sentiment (sentiment went on the 1 1/2" x 3" piece of very vanilla). You will need to stamp 2 flowers from the flower shop stamp set and one flower from the petite petals stamp set.   The punches I used were the pansy and petite petals punches. Both the pansy and the petite petals are available as a bundle (you save 15%)! I used the curvy corner trio punch on all four corners of the black and very vanilla.  I add pearls (the smallest ones on the sentiment and the largest one on the flower) and ribbon to dress it up a little.  I stamped the inside with the saying from the For the New Two ##138562.

I think this card would be great for any wedding and you can personalize it to the colors of the wedding if you wanted to.

This is the last card from my Baby/Wedding/Anniversary class.  I hope you have enjoyed seeing them and they gave you some inspiration.  I had a fun time creating them and sharing them with all of you.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Mark's Minion Birthday Card

IMG_5442 2

Today is Mark's (Mr. Wonderful) birthday and he loves Minions.  So, of course, I had to make him a minion card.  I used the Owl Builder punch #118074 and the Balloon Bouquet punch #140609 to make this card.  I love how easy and fast punches are to use.

The base of this card is made with daffodil delight cardstock measured at 5 1/2" x 8 1/5" score at 4 1/4". You will also need Pacific Point cardstock measuring 4" x 5 1/4" and whisper white cut at 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card.  I used scrap paper to make the balloons and minions.  The printed paper is from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack #138434.

To make the card you are going to make 3 minions, so you need to punch and cut everything 3 times.  I punched daffodil delight and pacific point with the owl builder punch.  You will cut the ears off of the daffodil delight owl and the top part of the vest in the pacific point.  I punched just the bottom part of the owl in black since you will only need the feet to use as the hands.  I cut one piece of black paper for the band and two pieces of yellow for the arms.  The eyes were made by using the owl punch (I used the small circles) and the 1/4" circle handheld punch.  The birthday saying was from the Petite Pairs #122497 stamp set.

I had the card all done and it was just missing something, but what.  His bibs were too plain.  I used the 1/2" circle punch to make the pocket on his bibs.  I cut it in half then used the project life pens to draw stitch lines on the bibs and pocket.  It was just what this card needed.

I wanted the minions to be the focal point of the card, so I poped them up using dimensionals.   It gave the card a 3D feel.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Bloomin' Love Congratulations Card

On Sunday I was working on my cards for my class and knew I wanted a card that said Congratulations and it needed to be a wedding card.  So, I got on Pinterest to get some ideas and I saw how people were using the Bloomin' Love framelit, which was very different from how I had used it.   I fell in love with this technique.  To me it look so elegant and you could do it with any color.  This would be a great way to color coordinate with the wedding colors.

To make the card I cut the heart out with the Bloomin' Love framelit (this comes as a bundle too) towards the top on the whisper white paper.  I then used the big shot die brush (this is one of my favorite tools right now) to get all the little pieces out of the heart.  I used the fine-tip glue pen #138309 to adhere the heart to the cardstock.  It is perfect for getting all the little areas so that it lays flat.

Then I stamped the congratulations from the stamp set Sassy Salutations with Versa Mark ink and embossed it using the silver embossing powder and heat tool.   I cut the flowers out with the flower framelits that come in the set with the heart (Bloomin' Love) in elegant eggplant.  The bow is made from the wisteria wonder 1/2" seam binding ribbon.

The inside of the card I used wisteria wonder ink.  I added pearls to the flowers to finish off the card.  They added just a little bit of softness to the card.

Baby Lamb Card

I made this card for my Open House in January and knew I wanted to use it for my Baby/Wedding/Anniversary class.  This lamb from the Easter Lamb #140740 in the Occasions Catalog.  You can make the color of cardstock you use for the base and the piece where I stamped "congrats" (cottage greetings #139962) to make it a girl or boy card.

I used blushing bride cardstock for the base cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4".  You will need the following paper to make this card.

Mint Macaron 4 x 5 1/4"

Birthday Bouquet DSP 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and 1 1/4" x 2 7/8"

Basic Gray 3 x 4 1/4" and 7/8" x 3

Crumb Cake 2 7/8 x 3

Blushing Bride 1" x 3 3/4"

I colored the lamb with pink pirouette, mint macaron, black and white stampin chalk markers.

Do you ever have those weekends when you have a list of what you want to get done and it just doesn't happen?  That was my weekend.  I had such grand plans, but somehow that list didn't get many things crossed off.   We did have fun this weekend at our daughter's, Erica, parent weekend at college.  We went to the book store on Saturday afternoon, and of course, we had to buy spirit wear.  We all got new sweatshirts and I love mine!  We also went to a basketball game on Saturday night, which was a lot of fun!  The best part is Wright State University won the game!  It was also senior night and they revealed who the mascot, Rowdy, was.  It turned out it was a young man that Erica went to high school with!  He did such a wonderful job.

I got the idea for this card from Pinterest.  I saw one a lot like this, I just changed it up a little bit and changed the colors.  I loved the design of it, so crisp and clean.  We will be making this card in my Baby/Wedding/Anniversary Class on Wednesday night.  This is a fun card that you can use any color with.  Oh, the possibilities!

New Sale-A-Bration Items!!!!!

Image 2-17-16 at 5.54 AM

Early Friday morning Emily, my oldest daughter, and I flew to Texas for four days.   It was my first time in Texas and I loved it, especially the weather!  Emily is hoping to move there when she graduates from college in May, so we went down to see the area and look at apartments.  It was a very successful trip.  I know that Emily will be very happy there, but it will be hard having her so far away.  Since we live in Ohio, it would be a very long road trip, I think I will be flying to see her as often as possible.  Thank God there is FaceTime, texting and the talking to my girl!

I love the Metallic Glitter Tape!!  These came out yesterday and are effective until March 31st, the end of Sale-A-Bration.   You can earn one FREE for every $50 you spend in product!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping!

Sometimes masculine cards can be difficult to design, so I go to different places to get inspiration.  I usually check out other demonstrators ideas and Pinterest.   When I saw this on Pinterest, created by Sue Lehrer, I knew I had to make it.  I love the simplicity of the card, the layering and that fact there were only two colors used, soft suede and whisper white.  Easy Peasy!!!
